This hidden paradise has a waterfall that used to have a mill on it in the early 1900's. There are cliffs on each side of the creek making it the perfect spot for serene relaxation. Following upstream is an assortment of spots to pitch a tent. The most notable sites are surrounded by hemlock tree's and is peaceful when birds chirp over the small rapids echoing from the large overhang
*I am in the process of making multiple sites but until I do so it is first come first serve. There are multiple sites at main campsite and along creek, I've had a private event of thirty people staying at once. There are also smaller spots next to waterfall, uphill near cliff and I've had people go below falls for some complete wilderness (blocked by gorge and waterfall). With this being said, I do offer private bookings and accommodate special events!
*I travel for work, so I won't always be here, but I will send directions and details after confirmation and make sure all is savvy during. Please be respectful to one and another and let me know asap if any issues arise but truthfully everyone has been amazing and I thoroughly enjoy meeting and getting to know everyone!

Clayton Geneva Camp Ground began as a retreat for our family since the 70's. My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family.
Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile.
Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy.
Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy!

We have almost 200 acres of beautiful country surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest in Rockcastle County. Quiet, serene, just right to sit back and relax or go fishing. Plenty of pace in this spot for the whole family! This was our second trip to the campground except this time we brought our adult kids and spouses plus our 4 yr old grandson. We can’t say enough about how much we love it there.
The hosts have really put in a lot of work to better what was already a great place.

The host Patrick was more than we could even ask for. Extremely friendly and accommodating. He's not hosting to nickel and dime you. He's hosting to give you a wonderful stay. Anything you need, just ask him.
That being said, the primitive campsite was wonderful. It is a good bit deep in the woods, very private, and feels like you're out in the forest away from everything, but not about 100 feet from the road. Be prepared to do a tiny bit of off roading. Would not recommend for very low vehicles. A normal sedan will do just fine if you don't mind if you rough through some grass, dirt, and a couple tiny branches. Also parking is about 50-100 feet from the site, so keep that in mind when packing your things

You should check out this place! It's a nice level and spacious site. There is a nice bathroom and shower located just a few steps away from the camp site.
The access to the green river on the property is top notch. I recommend it to any kayak anglers who like to fish streams!

Such a beautiful, quiet location right on the water. All of the sites are maintained well along with the amenities. There’s a porta potty near the campsites themselves and then a small bathroom/shower room a little up the drive on the main property. I know the site areas have a history of flooding easily since it’s right on the water, luckily I had amazing weather while there and I know I would have been accommodated on the upper land area if need be!

Something happened during a storm I would imagine and host quickly got back with me about grabbing another site (completely out of their control). I’d stay again for sure. Plan on it matter of fact. Maybe check out that cave spot!

This is an excellent location and the host was wonderful. I was camping by myself with my little dog. It was nice knowing that if I needed anything I could just call Amber. The restroom with sink, flushing toilet and shower were very cleaned and maintained. If you couldn’t make it to the top of the ridge from the lake shoreline, there was even a porta potty near by. The even noticed that some gravel needed to be added to assist cars getting up and down to/from the river banks so they brought more gravel in. Convenience store and grocery were very close by. Made a few runs for ice during my stay and grocery had all I needed-( although I did get some tainted meat from the IGA that made me sick one night). Only issues I had were a loud group of college aged men that came in one night at 9pm and stayed up pretty late and were a little loud; they were right next to my camp. But during the day it was beautiful and peaceful. All in all, highly recommend and will most likely go back. Can’t beat the price too! Thanks Amber!
