Red River Rewind is a small glamping community that is themed off of the owner’s passion for different genre music, vintage, antique history and memorabilia. Currently still a work in progress, we offer a customized bell tent which sits on a 20 x 30 platform deck, with a customized, insulated, fully functioning outhouse which has a shower, commode, and sink that allows endless hot water. In progress, “Elvira” is our cozy small cabin currently still under construction. Both have electricity, and water, and full bathroom accessibility at their own site. “Hey Jude” also offers a small wood burning stove to accommodate for cooler temperatures with an Eden pure heater, and fans for warmer weather days. The customized fully furnished bathroom just steps away from the tent, offers endless hot water. There is also a water spicket just a few steps away from the deck. Note that should the wood stove want to be used, guests need to supply their own SMALL pieces of wood as it is a miniature fireplace. The cabin will be designed with a mini split heating and air system. WiFi is not currently available though an amenity that is upcoming in the future. Cell phone access is good in our area typically. Red River Rewind has common shared amenities to include: a 3/4 acre fully stocked pond which is available for simply viewing its beauty as the fountain flows, or catch and release fishing as seasonally available, many family and friend oriented activities to choose from to check out and return such as cornhole, large checkers, and many more. As time and weather permits, we plan to expand with really neat projects and extras in upcoming months, and would love to have visitors passing through our beautiful area who need or want a place to stay or locals who just want a little change of scenery. We are simple, ordinary people who just want to share some of the things we love about life with others. On a clear note, there are beautiful images of the stars here. You will also have accessibility to a telescope.

Peaceful Secluded Campsites are what you want. Several beautiful settings will be what you get and much much more. Our campsites lie along the Old Buffalo Trace, the name given by early pioneers to the massive trail left by centuries of migrating bison that traveled right through this property. Making their way between salt and mineral licks along the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers, these herds were part of the plentiful wild game which was the reason so many local native tribes referred to old "Cain-tuk-ee" as their "Happy Hunting Ground". Our 7 campsites are constructed on "The Old Coates Homestead" where we make our home in the original 1858 Homestead house which we recently restored and where we make our delicious gourmet foods. We have recently acquired a collection of log cabins for a true to life, historic reenactment staycation. We are fortunate that one of the cabins was the frontier church known as "Shilo Baptist Church" from 1830-1840. The pastor of this church baptized Abraham Lincoln's father and is credited with having changed his attitudes toward ending slavery. Our hiking trails and nature trails bring you lots of knowledge, peace, shade, cool breezes and you can bring your horse (no motorized recreational vehicles) oh and lots of wildlife viewing. Here are a few of our featured campsites: REDBUD MEADOW: Our first campsite used by hundreds of people over the years. A secluded lawn in the midst of redbud trees, easy to drive to and from with a pile of firewood and a metal fire ring. The premier site on our property. THE BAPTISMAL POND: As history goes the pond in front of this site was used in the 1800's for baptisms for the church visible from everywhere on the farm, thus our name. This is a tent site, easy to drive into and out of, fires permitted in season. THISTLEDOWN GATHERING PLACE: This is a very large meadow, surrounded by trees with the capacity for large groups, many tents and gatherings of lots of people. Very level, easy in and out with vehicles. Fires permitted in season. WHITETAIL SANCTUARY: Every night for decades a herd of whitetail deer graze in this pastoral setting. Drive in and out, fires in season. Suitable for a family sized tent. THE PENNINSULA: This camping spot is WALK IN ONLY. You can drive to the trailhead on grass and walk the path to the campsite (about 200 yards). One of two remote sites. It sits in the woods, on the bank of a wet weather creek which flows around two sides of the campsite. Fires permitted in season. TOTEM TREES: This site is WALK IN ONLY. A short hike down the hill from the grass parking area and you have a small spot for a tent, in the woods, surrounded by trees and a lot of standing dead ash which appear as if you are in the presence of totem poles. NO OPEN FIRES. MUST USE BACKPACKER STOVE AND FLAMELESS LIGHTING. SPOTTED FAWN HIDEAWAY: This totally secluded walk in campsite is suitable for a small tent only AND PERFECT FOR HAMMOCK CAMPING. NO FIRES as the site benefits from the shade and protection of overhanging cedar trees and the ground is covered in cedar needles. NO OPEN FIRES. MUST USE BACKPACKER STOVE AND FLAMELESS LIGHTING. I had an amazing stay at Steepleview Farms! The tent site was spacious with plenty of room to spread out and set up camp comfortably. Marcus was an excellent host—super communicative and responsive to both texts and calls, which made everything smooth from start to finish. The site itself is peaceful and private, surrounded by trees with plenty of trails to explore nearby. The fire pit was a great touch, and having a porta-potty on-site was really convenient. Firewood was also available for purchase, which made campfires easy and enjoyable. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like about this place. If you’re looking for a quiet, well-maintained campsite with a reliable host and great amenities, I highly recommend Steepleview Farms!

Beautiful property with several spots. We chose to tent camp with electricity in order to work during Friday day and was placed near the stage. We had a wide open space with nice views of the farm. We enjoyed walking the trails. Next time, we will try primitive camping at one of the more private and shady sites. There were a few other campers there which was nice to chat. We were offered the use of the bathroom at the house which worked well for us. Overall, a great stay.

My son and I stayed at the glamping tent Hey Jude and honestly I can not say enough good things about it. The tent was comfortable, well lit and loaded with nostalgia from my past that made me feel like I had travelled back in time. It was well decorated and defined the word cozy. Explaining VHS to a 10 year old was quite fun. The tent was very well put together and on a nice wooden deck with great lighting. A telescope was in the tent that you could use to stargaze. It really was a wonderful stay, well thought out and seeing as they are already working on another site this is going to be a place that I will want to visit often. The owner was so communicative and answered all my questions even leaving some fish food for my son to feed the fish in the pond. This is a five star stay and one of the best I have ever been at with Hipcamp. Great job Sarah.

* HIKE IN ONLY * The property adjoins our family pumpkin farm where we have miniature Zebu cattle, mini horses and mini goats. There are 109 acres, 91 acres of which is dense woods with plenty of trails to explore. While completely isolated and secluded, it is still close to town and highways/railway, so there will be typical sounds associated with those. Absolute seclusion on the Bourbon Trail and only 4.5 miles from town. Only two designated sites on 109 total acres, or find/make your own spot in the dense woods. Park at the host residence and a short hike in is required. There is a strong 5G signal, and each site includes a fire pit and picnic table. The closest site has an outdoor shower. There are three miles of easy walking/biking trails through the woods. Salt River (off site) is less than a mile away and offers a popular kayak launch location, and an amazing destination just a little further down the road where you can drive in the river (see pics).  Four Roses Distillery is .4 miles off site and within walking/ biking distance on Bondsmill Rd. The property is almost entirely wooded and borders the Norfolk Southern railway. Some locations are within 100yds of the railway, where you can see the train through the trees as it passes by. Other areas are much further away.    Be warned! Lawrenceburg KY is known for it's Wildman Days Festival because of the high volume of Bigfoot sightings in the area, and there have been multiple, documented sightings on this property. Firewood available for a small fee upon request. Preview of sites by ATV tour *may* be available during daylight hours. This is primitive camping and you will be surrounded by wildlife, chiggers, ticks and anything else that creeps in the woods. No electric. Hike in/out only.  Leave no trace.

Learn more about this land: I live on 5.5 acres. It's peaceful and quiet and I love it here. I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area.  Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway.  I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it  ;)  The Neighbor dog (Roxy) is very friendly and might visit you while you are here :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive.  The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 30 or 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 30 or 50 amp plug (30 amp will need an adapter. I have one you can use if you don't own one of your own) and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires.
