30 years ago this was a pay lake it has been shut down for years. I got it a few years ago for a family getaway. So there is some really nice fish in the lakes. We have a outside kitchen with a gas grill, gas griddle and sink.we also have a sink for your use. There is also a toilet with a flushing toilet.

This electric campsite is near Hoosier National Forest. This area was established as hunting grounds by our family over 30 years ago and still is to this day. Create your own family tradition in this campsite that is ready for two campers on a total of 160ft gravel space. There is both 30 and 50 AMP electric, however no water or sewer hookup. You must provide your own water. There is a dump station 5 miles from the campsite at Tipsaw Recreation Area.
This area is great for hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and ATV riding....or just relaxing and taking in nature in this beautiful and peaceful area.

TWO SPOTS TO CHOOSE FROM……
The camping spot we refer to as the NORTHSIDE SPOT is a flat yard atop a hill it makes for a great spot to park your RV, camper, tent or boat. This grass camping spot is always mowed and clean. Two large pine trees provide some shade for this northside camping spot. You can enjoy nearly panoramic views of the night sky! This spot is alongside a country road. It is considered less private than the SOUTH SIDE SPOT.
The SOUTH SIDE CAMPING SPOT, is for tent campers only with a smaller vehicle. It is very private and completely surrounded by woods. This spot can accommodate two tents and one or two cars. There is no view of the night sky since you are in a dense forest.
Patoka lake is less than 10 minutes away ( boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, biking).
Holiday World ( an amusement park) is about 30 minutes away.

Until 2019, this farm was in the same family since 1889. It has been a working farm since that time. In 2019, our family purchased the farm and continue to operate it much the same way. Our family is devoted to history and preserving the essence of the past. You may very well see us pull up in one of our antique cars to greet you! Our neighbors are friendly and many are also small farmers. You can't see their farms from camp, but don't be surprised to hear roosters crowing, cattle mooing, and donkeys braying in the distance. Our farm is surrounded by the Hoosier National Forest, so you'll see and hear plenty of wildlife too. At various times during the summer, you may find wild blackberries, elderberries, and black raspberries growing right in camp!

Wood can be purchased or foraged yourself for your fire.Hoosier National Forest is across street so hiking is unlimited. This is a quiet destination in the woods with abundant wildlife.There is a small farm here where produce and flowers even eggs can be purchased. Chickens,guineas,ducks,turkeyand geese are free range so all about near house.
This is also a cat sanctuary with disabled cats mostly wobbly, you probably won't see any of them as they are afraid of strangers.
Please understand, you will be in the woods. We have coyotes,bobcat,mountain lion,fox,deer,skunk racoons, opossums etc... Keep food contained and be aware of surroundings!
We now have kune kune pigs. And recently added 2 mini cows, 1 is an 11 year old rescue and 1 is a heifer calf as well as a standard heifer calf.

Wow!! What an absolutely beautiful spot! Our site was tucked away and private, right under a cliff. Sweet dog on the property and Van was super kind and helpful. WiFi available at the site if needed. I’d recommend this for anyone wanting some quiet time away. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Tar Springs was a totally magical get away fro the city and we cannot wait to return! Van and Chuck were such kind and accommodating hosts- sharing their hatchet, and recommendations for what to do in the area. Even with some rain we were completely dry from a storm, and the facilities were so clean! Such a luxury on a camp out.

We loved tent camping here! We spent the days exploring Bernheim forest and relaxing at the campsite at night. Loved being close to work in Louisville for a quick commute but being able to enjoy the calmness at our site at night. Our kids and dog loved the campsite and the porta potty was an added plus.

The campsite was clean, grass was short, and there were a sink and outhouse closeby, though I didn't use them in order to rate them. We came in sort of late, left sort of early, and had a good experience. Nobody bothered us, and even though we could see a house nearby, we didn't hear anything but nature around us the entire night. We were contacted maybe 10 minutes after booking with the proper directions and had no trouble finding ourselves all the way to our site.

We stopped here for our first night of our road trip, it was nice! No frills, just a nice basic spot to spend the night. There was a very large area to set up our tent, and it had a fire pit which is always nice. It was very quiet except for a train that goes by sometimes but we had earplugs so it didn’t bother us. I’d totally stay here again if I’m in the area! Love from Chicago! <3

Loved everything about this site! So peaceful and pretty. The goats provided endless entertainment. Thoughtful host has stocked the bathroom with supplies. This will definitely be our go-to spot when visiting Mammoth Cave.
Just some helpful notes for campers: The green river ferry is only operational until 4pm each day and even though the ferry says no RVs, our Transit camper van was allowed. Also, this campsite is in a dry county, so come prepared. Finally, horses will be trotting by often (lovely!) but just something to keep in mind if you are bringing a pup.
Five stars!! This has been one of our favorite hip camps to date!

Ken's lot were very nice, I did get lost on the way down but all trails led me to beaver bend. Very secluded feeling and would recommend.
Only a few negatives, the people across the river had their dog bark all night and were racing side by sides, ended up leaving around 2 am as the dog had still been barking from 9 pm and it was freaking my dog out. That dog will need a lozenge as his throats probably sore today. Also totally out of control, there is no service at all for Verizon down there so if you need a mobile device I'd bring a repeater or some sort of signal amplifier.
I would still recommend Ken's sites! Thank you Ken for having us.
