Amazing 150' tall limestone cliffs rise above river and several spring fed creeks feed into the river. There is hiking galore in the canyons or on the cliffs, fishing in the rivers, or bird watching on the native prairie above the cliffs. Fossil hunters can find a variety of fossilized shells, as well as native septarian and calcite for the rockhounds.
Our picturesque, secluded campground has primitive and powered campsites, plus several glamping tent, all dispersed along an amazing horseshoe bend of the Saline River, each with direct river access. We're only a 20 minute drive north of Hays, Kansas and I-70, come visit us today!

We have beautiful tiny home cabins, mini A-frames and full service pull-through RV hookups. Located in Humboldt, KS at the trailhead to the Southwind rails-to- trails. Base Camp features a quarry pond for fishing and small watercraft's, large open fields for recreation and a bike skills course perfect for beginners and seasoned riders alike. Currently, we do not offer tent camping.
Our RV spots are located in our paved parking lot. Each rental includes water, 30 and 50 amp electric and sewer hookups.

I am proud to be a fourth-generation caretaker of this farm and surrounding acreage. My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how. For the last 30 years, that has meant a divergence from traditional farming practices to focus on regenerative farming-- farming that focuses on enriching the health of the soil and the animals instead of depleting it.On our farm, we raise beef, lamb, pigs and chickens and they all live out on pasture. In our farm store we sell meat, eggs, and raw, all-grass dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, kefir, and yogurt. Our customers drive from all parts of central Kansas to shop at Jako Farm because our food is different than food in the grocery store. We call it JakoPure food.Not only do we share our life-giving, gut-restoring food with others, but we want to share the experience of our farm, too. That's why we've started hosting guests on hipcamp so that you can truly experience what's special about our farm. Each location provides a unique perspective on our farm, and you'll engage a different part of our story at each place. But wherever you stake your temporary claim at Jako Farm, we hope you experience the peace and rest that we know and love.Learn more about this land:Jako Farm is a working regenerative farm, and this campsite provides an easy view of all that goes on here. The cows and sheep will graze near by while the chickens scratch in the distance. You'll see the farmers moving the animals to new pasture and the llama playing games with the sheep. If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November). Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife. (Fair warning: if you're in a tent, you will probably hear the milking machine kick on at 6:30am.) We're also proud to be a smell-free farm because all animals live out on pasture. There are killer sunrises and sunsets here. If you're lucky, you'll also see our resident bald eagle pair soaring through the sky.A bathroom with shower is available for your use in the barn nearby.Please be respectful of farm operations, although we're always open to answering questions if you see us around. Farm Tours are not included with a booking.

Had a lovely stay at The Light Center 🙏✨️ A wonderful spot to reconnect with nature and meet new friends (Susan does a wonderful work and is very welcoming) 💚 Their barn is well stocked with community food, coffee, and tea, and their bathrooms are well kept. Had some great hikes along their nature paths and camped out under some great star filled skies! Will definitely stay again when im in the area 🌟

Thank you Beverly (and Charlie, Clauss, and the Motley Crew) for thoughtfully hosting me and my dogs for two nights! There are not words for the magic happening out at Our Little Grove, Beverly is a thoughtful host and caretaker of her land and animals.
Unfortunately my arrival time was delayed due to mechanical issues, but Beverly was out to get the gate and guide me to my spot and got us settled in. We appreciated socializing with her and her pups, and were also given time and space to recoup from travel stress and enjoy the quiet amusements of her home. I appreciated having a fenced area I could let my dogs roam in while I napped in the hammock, played guitar and cooked my meals. I will have to return, as I was rained out from my plan to bike the path near her house the 3 miles into town!

Great spot. Only stayed one night. Great responsive hosts. Site was as described and with firewood at pit, though we did not use. Very quiet and private with spots very spaced out, wonderful night sky area. We had even ordered their cinnamon rolls and they were warm and delivered to camp Saturday morning!
Would definitely stay again, spend more time if possible!

The site was nice and the bathroom and shower building looked good. Unfortunately, the wind was howling about 50 mph and the temperature was about 95. We don’t have ac do we chose not to stay. If we find ourselves out that way again, we’d be happy to try again!

Love the wide open meadows with shade trees, horses and cows grazing nearby, and pretty flat sites - very spread out. We were in Wanda’s Place near the river with a view of the breaks. Porta Potty a few hundred yards away. So peaceful!

All Hipcamp hosts should strive to be like Tom. He was communicative, helpful, flexible, and friendly. Though I got to camp after dark, I realized in the morning just how beautiful and private the space is! Granted, I was the only one camping, but still. A toilet and shower (even if it’s cold) is always a huge plus. I’d book again.
