Come and spend some time at a direct-to-consumer dairy farm. Our cows are called Dutch Belted. They are often referred to as Oreo cows. Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods.
The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life.
We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.

Our stable provides beautiful views of the Kansas landscape, prairie and rock bluffs surround the farm. The stable is situated on a dead end road with little traffic, close to town so you can still enjoy great eating places in Hays. We are just a few short miles to Fort Hays State University, we are both alumni of FHSU- Go Tigers! We have 6 horse pens for overnight travels- Coggins are required before unloading. We also have 3 big spacious dog kennels.

Absolutely amazing site! Steven went above and beyond my expectations. We showed up with 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 12, and he pulled no stops entertaining them, including walking his horse down to our campsite for the kids to pet. Be sure to ask him what his record is with the ax throwing!!!😉😆 we will definitely be returning.

Enjoyed a bonfire on a cold evening at the Retreat, and the silo was comfortable with the wood stove keeping the chill out. We hiked around the ranch and squeezed in a little fishing. Thanks for a great evening! looking forward to another visit

We had a very pleasant stay! The directions to get there were easy to follow, and we got to meet the cutest, cuddliest cats ever! We also got to pet a couple horses. Definitely would recommend this place!

Wonderful spot to stay at! We were there just for a quick overnight but were greeted by the friendliest barn cats you could ever ask for! We’re pet people so to have this trio of cuties come up and hang with us was a pleasant treat. The host was fantastic with instructions and made sure we were all set. Beautiful landscape, and while we didn’t see horses, we got in late and left early so that’s on us! We would stay again, 10/10.

We spent last night at B5 Stables and had a great time. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful! We took advantage of the tour of their stables an and met several of their horses. Hearing about their path to training and riding Mustangs was a highlight.
If you are a horse owner or just an animal lover like us, this is a great place to stay.

it was a beautiful spot. The horses were amazing and the cats stole the show (literally). Everyone was polite and helpful, they even put their dogs away so i could run mine for a bit. You could hear the coyotes singing at night and the sounds of farm life. It was truly a great experience.

It was great and relaxing staying at the Borntrager Dairy. Great site Great Sunrise every morning. Cows before milking alot quieter than I remember on the farm. Guineas around keeping bugs down. If your looking for a peaceful private stay this is it. We will definitely be back

We absolutely loved this spot! Full hookups, tons of privacy, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and great access for our big rig (45' toy hauler). We enjoyed watching the cows come in and out of the field for milking each day, as well as the funny guinea hens pecking about. The farm store is AMAZING - delicious milk, butter, yogurt, ice cream, eggs, breads, canned goods...I could go on. DEFINITELY make sure you stop into the store!
We spent a week here at the farm and each night we walked down Halstead Rd for a bit to stretch our legs and most evenings we saw an Amish horse and buggy go by which was a fun treat. We enjoyed exploring Yoder and Hutchinson - what a great area overall.
We've stayed at several HipCamps in the last year and this one was our favorite so far. We will be back!!!

The ranch is terrific! Easy to get to, not far from the highway and exactly as described. We arrived in the early evening and got to meet all the horses, hear about the Mustang programs and Stephanie and Mike were terrific hosts!!

1000% would stay here again! Steph was one of the nicest human beings! We got in late, parked in the wrong spot and she was incredibly gracious and understanding!! Our kids absolutely LOVED the animals! They were all so friendly and tolerated our 4 year olds intense love. Plenty of space to have the kiddos get some energy out! If you’re nearby or driving through, I’d highly recommend staying here!!

This was honestly an idyllic place to stop midway thru Kansas. I camped in a tent on the soft grass which was right near a couple horse pens - regal horses and friendly/dopey ponies. Oh, also 4 barn kitties who were the cutest bunch ever. The owners, Stephanie and Mike, welcomed me warmly when they had a chance to, and then left me alone to enjoy the peace and quiet, which was perfect. Also they have spring water which is amazing.

Water, electric, and sewer all easily available. Quiet except for the many birds! We were the only campers and enjoyed the private, rural setting. We got there just in time to buy milk (raw) in the dairy store. There were cheeses, yogurt and other delicious items available as well.
