Our 360-acre family farm—held by our family for nearly 80 years—has been transformed from a tree grove and a former highway borrow pit into a welcoming campground.
We’ve built two structures on the property, including a shop with a restroom and a cozy porch where my wife and I enjoy evenings watching deer and other wildlife. What began as a spot for family camping has grown into a campground we’re now opening to guests.
Campsites range from electric-hookup sites for convenience to primitive sites for those who want to unplug and enjoy quiet time in nature.
Beyond relaxing, guests can fish and paddle-boat on our pond or access the nearby Volga River for canoeing and kayaking. The Volga River State Recreation Area is just 10 miles away and offers additional fishing, boating, hiking, and horseback-riding opportunities.
Update: So far this spring we haven't seen any fish in our pond. We don't know what happened to them and if fishing on the pond will be possible this year.

I think that was peace of mind due to reserving next to the river after the area had a ton of rain recently. We appreciated the ingenuity on the shower closet next to the portable toilet. Place was amazing set up right by the river they had power and water wright there . When we pulled in they were working and Mark came and said hello and gave us the run down of the place his wife also brought us a map of where we could ride .They also had miles of trails to walk or ride down. We had brought our Utv with and had a blast on them. I also tried fishing I had several big bits I ended up catching a Northern pike 3 feet long. There is also a place called Fossil park 10 mins away very cool places we spent 2 hrs there. All I know is we will be back now one of are favorite places to stay in Iowa. 10 stars.

This was a gem of a find. We booked this last minute, and Ryan was incredibly responsive and welcoming. The place is immaculate and well-kept and it is clear they have put thought into the layout and to the amenities for RVers. We were the only ones staying that night. We were able to walk around and enjoy the tree farm and play with the dogs. It was a super peaceful night. What a beautiful place! It is worth the 10 mile trek off of 35 for such a peaceful lovely place with water and electric!
Bonus there is a free RV dump station in Iowa Falls, right next to the armory. Huge pull in and easy access for any size RV.

We stopped at Sue’s for an overnight stay on our way from Indiana to Minnesota. We prefer staying where we aren’t in a typical campground setting. This stay was exactly that. We were greeted upon arrival, and assisted with filling our fresh water tank. Our 33ft travel trailer was easy to maneuver and set up on their perfectly level spot. We were able to keep our rig hooked up for an easy departure the following morning. This property is absolutely stunning. We will be coming back through in late summer and can’t wait to see the beautiful flowers when they are in full bloom. We enjoyed great conversation with Sue and her husband. We will stay here again and this is highly recommended if you prefer an overnight stay that isn’t your typical cramped KOA or Stare Park experience.
