We have 5 well spaced campsites complete with fire pit, picnic table and a couple of chairs ready for you at your campsite. Rent 1 or rent them all! Just bring your tent or your hammock! Your initial firewood . lighter, trash and recycling cans, and firestarters are brought to your site before you arrive.
Our "camp host" Tiller the big lovable doggo will patrol to scatter any trash pandas that might happen by. We keep track of him using GPS, so we know if He is hanging with you around the campfire. When his collar lights up and plays a tune, it's time for him to come home! Please send him on his way - thank you.

Message us when you are 30 minutes out, so we can you our tractor to help bring your things to your site. Same at check out. Just let us know 30 mins before you are ready to go and we will help you pack out! Sorry you will not be able to drive your vehicle to your site. This keeps the woods quiet for all of our guests. Each site is just a few hundred feet from the parking area.
The magical woods is located along the bridle trails behind our horse farm. Sorry, we do not offer trail rides as we have show horses. However you are welcome to arrange a visit to meet the animals when you arrive. We have horses, a miniature horse, a mule, a miniature sheep and a very sweet goat named Hairy. There are about 30 chickens wandering the yard all day and we have 4 dogs and 3 cats that are always around. They are used to other dogs.
At night we have a lovely lullaby of owls, night birds, insects and frogs. Sometimes you can even hear sounds from the Illinois River and railway miles away. Barges, trains (not many) tug boats, and the interesting sounds that come with them. Listen carefully, can you tell them apart?

Family owned private campground since the 1940's. Very secluded and private. We offer a very unique experience that you will not find any public campground. I many ways we have a "private state park".
Nice trails for hiking or biking. There is even a small "race track" in the bottom bowl near the creek. There are several direct access points to the creek for fishing or wading. We have miles of marked trails that are easy for everyone.
Horseshoe Bend Main is a larger campground with four dispersed sites which a very spread out. This site has (3) 30 amp outlets for RV's. Porta potties are also provided.
The Horseshoe Bend Creekside sites are designated spots that are on the West Panther creek bank. There are porta potties, but no electric or water.

We are a small family farm that grows sweet corn and pumpkins. We are two families that have become great friends and use this property for growing a small crop each year, as well as for friend and neighbor gatherings, and lots of fun and memories for our kids.
In the summer, we love spending time hanging out at our tiki hut, which we have lovingly nicknamed “The Smut Hut.” “Smut” is a mushroom-type delicacy that sometimes grows on sweet corn, as we have learned. Bonfires and grilling out are some of our favorite things to do. Our kids have built some great trails and jumps for anyone who enjoys trail or bicycle riding.
So, if you are looking for time overlooking a creek or pond, fishing, hiking, sitting around a fire, and relaxing, we invite you to come and stay with us. Sometimes we may be there hanging out, picking corn or pumpkins, or grilling with friends, and we hope you might join us. Or you may have the place to yourself to watch the birds and beavers, and if you’re lucky, you may spot the turtle that lives in the pond.
We have two RV sites with electric hookups available, and several tent sites. Many have fire rings and picnic tables. We also have grills and a portable toilet available for guest use. Firewood is available for purchase, hand-chopped by our teenager, and during the in-season, we will have sweet corn and pumpkins available for purchase. Please be sure to bring cash if you want to purchase firewood, corn, or pumpkins. Thanks!!
We are located about a half mile from Route 30, and just a few miles from a dump station at Vacationland.
Nearby attractions include Plowman’s Park, the Sandwich Fairgrounds, Raging Waves Water Park, the Big Rock Quarry, Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course, and Bliss Creek Golf Course.

Cute space, lots of sites available and they’re super open to you switching sites if you don’t like yours. Very clean porta potties. We lucked out and had nobody on our side of the campground, but sites are very small and very close together, so the noise rule makes sense. Cute view of the river. Nice staff and easy to check in/get firewood/etc

This was my first Hipcamp experience, and I was a big fan! The place was exactly as described. The host showed me around when I arrived and told me I could use a fridge / freezer in the barn as needed, which was a big help. The animals on site were adorable, and not a nuisance at all. They were kept far away from the site, and I only heard them once in awhile. There was not a lot of shade in the powered site, but a few steps away is a beautiful wood deck overlooking the stream which was shady all day and a great spot to cool down. When I first arrived, the electric wasn't working, and I messaged the host. He came to the site within 2 minutes to fix the issue. There were porta potties nearby, and the one I used was extremely clean. Normally I bring my own bathroom setup because I never trust those things, but I didn't need mine at all. The site felt very private. I never saw or heard anyone else at all. Other reviewers have mentioned road noise. I did hear cars on occasion, but the street was not busy enough to bother me at all.
I walked down to the waterfront site while I was there. It looked really great too, so I would recommend either one. I did not see the glamping site up close.
I wasn't feeling well and I did not get a chance to check out the area, so I can't comment on local activities.
One tip to future visitors, the gravel driveway to the property does not meet the main street. It branches off a shared driveway.

Great experience staying on Heidi's land and would stay again! Heidi greeted us with a warm welcome and helped us take our gear into our site (via tractor, which our kids got a kick out of). The dogs and various other animals on the farm were just as friendly as our host Heidi. Clean and manicured sites and a nice bonus where the host provided hand sanitizer and fire-starters. Great experience all around!

This was an absolutely beautiful site. We got rained on, but as Washingtonians on a road trip, were unintentionally prepared for that to begin with and I loved the warm rain for a change. Very nice secluded spots easily big enough for a 6 person tent (maybe a 10, but that may run into the trees some)

A wonderful property that is incredibly well maintained. Creek is cold and clear, fish present, many bird species to observe & hear, lots of tree coverage, and beautiful native plants.
