If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. We are less than 15 minutes from St Maries, where you will find dump sites and water refill stations. In St Maries you can find easy access to the St Joe and St Maries rivers. 9 miles west of St Maries is Heyburn Park where you will find multiple hiking trails, access to Chatcolet Lake (which is at the south end of the Coeur ‘d Alene Lake system). Outdoor recreation options are limitless in this area. Coeur ‘d Alene is an hour and a half north from our property and Moscow is and hour and a half SW of our property. We are 2 miles from State land and a 25-minute ride on an ATV to the St Maries River. The area is abundant in wildlife: elk, deer, coyotes, cougars, moose, rabbits, grouse, badgers and more. There is access from our property to state land for hiking and hunting. There are 3 RV sites tucked into the trees, a large open tent site and a second tent site that is in the trees. There is a pull around drive to access the sites with a large, shared grass area in the center. Things are still in development so currently it is dry camping only. There are water spigots at each site but only for fire suppression if needed as water is not potable. RV sites are graveled with plenty of room to park We allow animals but only if they are kept on a leash or in your RV. Our home is close to the campground, and we are usually around somewhere if you have questions or need help with something.

Badger Campground

We are on 20 acres and have developed ¾ acre for camping. Badger drive is just off a well-maintained gravel county road. We are less than 15 minutes from St Maries, where you will find dump sites and water refill stations. In St Maries you can find easy access to the St Joe and St Maries rivers. 9 miles west of St Maries is Heyburn Park where you will find multiple hiking trails, access to Chatcolet Lake (which is at the south end of the Coeur ‘d Alene Lake system). Outdoor recreation options are limitless in this area. Coeur ‘d Alene is an hour and a half north from our property and Moscow is and hour and a half SW of our property. We are 2 miles from State land and a 25-minute ride on an ATV to the St Maries River. The area is abundant in wildlife: elk, deer, coyotes, cougars, moose, rabbits, grouse, badgers and more. There is access from our property to state land for hiking and hunting. There are 3 RV sites tucked into the trees, a large open tent site and a second tent site that is in the trees. There is a pull around drive to access the sites with a large, shared grass area in the center. Things are still in development so currently it is dry camping only. There are water spigots at each site but only for fire suppression if needed as water is not potable. RV sites are graveled with plenty of room to park We allow animals but only if they are kept on a leash or in your RV. Our home is close to the campground, and we are usually around somewhere if you have questions or need help with something.

Turkey hunting is available 6 months of the year, Elk and Deer hunting begins in the Fall.

2 nights at Off The Beaten Path Glampground

The dome glamping experience was wonderful! The interior of the bison decor was very cute and the perfect set up for my two gal friends and I. Beautiful view of the plains and river, both from inside the dome and the wooden porch it sits on. The propane heater was much appreciated, and took the chill off inside the dome. Trina was a terrific host, greeting us when we first arrived and showed us to our dome. She made sure we had what we needed, and has done a great job setting up her property. Fantastic getaway for us gals!!

I booked at the last moment, late in the evening and Trina (and her awesome son, Steele) was there to greet us right as we arrived. They showed us to the dome and brought us a several gallon jug of water to use. The buck dome was perfect with comfortable beds. There was a BBQ available to cook our dinner on so we didn't have to dig out our camp stoves. Clean shared portapotty and hot shower a short walk away. Trina thought of everything needed for a nice glamping stay on a gorgeous property. The views do not disappoint and Trina was so fun to chat with and filled with fantastic recommendations for places well outside of montana that are on our itenerary. Next time we come to Montana we will be sure to book a stay.

Weekend Trip to Fox Lane Private Campsite

We booked this Hipcamp as a stopping point along a 10-day, multi-state RV trip and we are SO glad we did. We stayed 2 nights and wish we would’ve stayed a 3rd. It was so peaceful and serene. It was truly the definition of a relaxing experience. The views from our panoramic window were gorgeous, especially at sunrise, and the nighttime sky was insane. We would love to make the trek back someday to enjoy this beautiful oasis again.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Bungalow

The cabin was great - it was a small shed converted into a cabin that had a single (full-sized? queen?) bed with a rocking chair, an armoir, and a small closet. The bathroom was an attached outhouse with sawdust to soak up waste and neutralize any smells. They provided a camping sink with 5 gallons of water, a camping gas stove, a citranella candle, and plates, bowls, and utensils. The cabin sits towards the middle of the driveway to the hosts' house and they have the friendliest dog. My son and I had a great time. Zero light pollution, no noise pollution, just fresh north Idaho air.

We’ve stayed here twice so far with friends for a quick weekend getaway. Nice flat site, easy to set up camp and lots of trails to explore on SxS. We went out riding to the Bedroom Goldmine Bar, huckleberry picking and checked out Glideen Lake. Close to town too for going out to dinner or walk around town.

Our entire party (3 campers) enjoyed Lisa’s land. We played corn hole on her lovely green lawn. Listened to the rushing creek at night. Went side by siding into the gorgeous scenery nearby and took the short trip to Wallace Idaho for some good food and drinks. We will be coming back each summer.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay here in September. Lots of level parking available. Had the place to ourselves for 2 nights, then one night a van, another night some tent campers. All were very quiet. We loved how close to town we were, but it was so nice and quiet out here. Beautiful stars at night! Only downside was the bathhouse was occupied by some creepy crawlies that we didn’t want to share with, so we did our own sponge baths behind the trailer instead. All in all, very quiet, safe and pretty place to hang out in Wallace.

My wife and I loved staying in the Bigfoot dome. We wish we started out road trip with this stay instead of making it our last stop so we could stay longer. The views are absolutely incredible and there were cows and deer wandering right outside. The sunrise and sunsets are amazing and the stars at night are incredible. Host is very nice and informative about things to do in the area and we'll definitely recommend and visit again.
