You could say Boise National Forest is in the tri-forest area. It is surrounded on all sides by Payette, Salmon-Challis, and Sawtooth National Forests, it is situated conveniently close to both urban fun in Boise, and limitless wilderness adventures everywhere else. Alpine tundra is dotted with evergreen forest in the green rolling hills here, topped with snow, and anchored by sparkling valley waterways. The Payette River is great for rafting, while Banks Beach and Beehive Bend are just some of the prime access points on the forest’s 250 lakes and reservoirs (Arrowrock Reservoir has surprisingly primo salmon fishing for central Idaho).
Hikers will find 500 trails, including some that lead to 360-panoramic views at fire lookouts. The yurt is heated and cooled with a mini split system. We do not provide firewood for the wood stove or firepit. Firewood can be purchased locally in Crouch or Garden Valley. There is interior lighting but no exterior lighting, so bring headlamps or flashlights for nighttime use.
Cooking amenities include a two burner propane stove with cast iron griddle, a private deck with propane grill, and a fully stocked cooking setup including dishes, utensils, spices and olive oil.
The yurt is accessed by a short walk from the parking area and terrain may be uneven, muddy, snowy or icy depending on weather. In winter, AWD or 4WD with winter tires or chains is required.
We live on the property but respect your privacy completely. You will not see us unless you request assistance.
This stay is perfect for hikers, snowshoers, hunters, anglers, skiers, rafters, kayakers, off roaders and guests who want a true wilderness experience with modern comforts.

The address to the house next door is 519 MiddleFork Rd, Garden Valley, ID 83622. That will get you to the property. The property is right after 519 it is a large open lot that leads down to the river. There is a black military vehicle parked on the very end close to the house.
So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river. There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really.
Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. Hello. My name is Tamara and my husband is Andy. We bought this place in 2022 with the goal of raising animals humanely and providing good food options to purchase at reasonable prices. After moving to Ontario I noticed there are not many good options for nighttime sleep. I fondly remember camping with our kids in a location we named Neverland. We decided we wanted to create that for people. That’s why we joined Hipcamp. We have several sites that range from close to the house and bathroom access to remote in a field with the sounds of the creek to lull you to sleep. To increase safety and aid in positive memory making, only one group is allowed at a time. We have lots of space so whether you are a lone traveler, a family, or a group of friends looking to make memories consider staying with us and our animals. We generally have goats, chickens, and pigs. From July to October, we often have pheasants. This year we do not so I can do repairs to the small coop. Look us up on Facebook under Micone Ranch.
Our driveway is immediately off Ontario Heights Rd. Google tells people to turn on Grand View Lane. There is no access to our property from that direction. We have a 300-gallon trash bin next to our mailbox that says camp host. Our driveway is immediately across the road from there. The bridge at the entrance to our property is 11' wide, which should allow a standard 8' RV to pass into the property. RV hook up is right off the driveway by the power pole. Ground is in its native form and only gets minimal rain. Some weeds and goatheads may be present.
A small, creek runs through the front of the property year-round. Water is clearer during the winter and spring months. The spots I have cleared in this area are small. I recommend tent camping in this area. It is densely wooded. We have goats in this field; they are shy. We have goat treats available for sale if you would like to feed them.
Oregon has an invasive, poisonous weed called Water hemlock. If you camp in this area, familiarize yourself with this plant so you can avoid it. Camping areas have been cleared of this plant. If you wander along the creek, you will encounter it.

This place is a little slice of heaven - I wish we could have stayed more than one night! Ron and Lisa are so warm and helpful and they have horses, chickens, dogs, and little quail flock running around wild! The view looks like it cannot be real, but it is. The shade is wonderful and I didn't realize that the site has electricity that was perfect for our small popup camper - and access to water and a place to dump sewage. We felt privileged to be able to stay there - what a treat! And there is a porta-potty as well!

Lovely bird-filled and horse-filled environment! Hosts were attentive and provided a wonderful place to stay. We were allowed to use other spaces to sit in the shade when it was too hot in the glamping tent. Alayne made suggestions for nearby activities and restaurants.

Absolute wonderful time. Hosts were very accommodating and always super quick to respond. They went out of their way to make the trip possible for us after unforeseen issues before our trip. The entire pond area is well kept and fishing was hot! Pinch those barbs so you don’t ruin it for others. Cleanest outhouse ever, on site was added bonus. I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again in the future and likely will! Highly recommend.

There will not be a more gracious host! They have VERY thoughtfully set up this camp space with your comfort, peace and enjoyment in mind. I actually wanted to film in this location because it’s so incredible but unfortunately my subject’s availability didn’t align. I still might if I can make it work! Back to their offering….they have incredibly beautiful and welcoming animals all about the farm. FRESH delicious eggs delivered to your site when ordered. NOBODY and NOTHING will disturb you here. It is just nothing but beauty all around you and truly an amazing little mini forest of trees to cover your rig or tent with just enough shade that the light peaks through to make it absolutely perfect. Seriously perfect right down to a thoughtful trash bin at the site with a trash bag so you bag your dog mess and toss it in! So easy and thoughtful. WONDERFUL hosts who are very responsive and truly kind people. You will want to return for sure!!

We overnighted here and would do so again. There was weather coming in when we arrived, but Amy ran out to greet us nonetheless. We didn't get to enjoy the view that other reviewers mentioned because of the wind and rain, but the weather wasn't the host's fault. So five stars for the good communication and a safe place to stay for the night. Our 24' travel trailer fit in nicely. You could back in but we found it easier to pull in and then back out onto the road.

If you need a place that offers both solitude and hospitality, this is the place. We arrived via the John Day route, and even though the camp is near the interstate, you wouldn't know it. The host's husband Andy came out to greet us after making it through the gate and explained our options for setting up camp. A great flat spot is available near the house, so we chose that, and their goats wandered up on their side of the fence to watch us make dinner. The bathroom access was fantastic, not awkward like some other shared facilities we have had before. Met with Tammy/Tamara in the morning and bought both goat and ground beef. Have had the opportunity to enjoy both on the rest of our trip; delicious! You will be the only guests when you stay, which is a rare treat. Don't know when we will be back that way, but would stop again if we do!

Spectacular view of the Snake River and camping next to a really cool silo. George and Elizabeth have such a beautiful property. They are very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the wind at night cooling our trailer down. We enjoyed peaceful campfires overlooking the view. Plenty of space for our truck and trailer. I would definitely stay at this Hipcamp again and recommend this to anyone wanting to enjoy George and Elizabeth's beautiful place!
