Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
PLEASE PACK OUT ANY TRASH. THANK YOU The address to the house next door is 519 MiddleFork Rd, Garden Valley, ID 83622. That will get you to the property. The property is right after 519 it is a large open lot that leads down to the river. There is a black military vehicle parked on the very end close to the house. So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river. There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really. Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. Great time. Large flat area fit two campers with no issues. If tent camping you can get right down by the river. Hope to be back soon!

Cool spot on the river to hangout. It would be nice to have a bit cleaner access to the river for people that are not as light on thir feet!

Proximity to the river was wonderful and our dog loved having a swim! The tent spot had ample shade and perfect trees for our hammock too! As others commented, you can hear the road traffic but it was never bothersome. The site was great for our small family celebration!!

Garden Valley River Access Campsite
Great location with river access. We pulled a small overland trailer with a rooftop tent and were able to find a nice, flat space, and get it leveled out. I don’t believe there is a beach but great water by the campsite. We didn’t make it to the water as we were visiting family, but our pups did. It’s a nice, long strip of mowed grass with mowed river access. The military vehicle mentioned as a marker was tucked behind what I think was a box trailer, but the property was evident and the address brought us right there. Quiet at night aside from occasional traffic and the river was audible from our tent.

This site far exceeded our expectations. Road noise was not an issue at all. We were able to park at the top of the space then bring chairs and dinner down by the river. Very peaceful.

This is a super convenient spot! For an RV that could not navigate to the best location it was pretty close to the road. However, there is a perfect site for a tent that could be set up close to the river down below Having a launch spot for our kayaks made it worth the road noise.

We loved this spot on the river! Gorgeous views and access to river. It is very close to road with noise, so might not be for everyone. The lower Campspot (not accessible by RV) was private and felt more secluded and less noise.

The site was not maintained and was not usable. We didn't stay there and instead found a free spot 10 miles up the road. And yes , there was extremely loud music playing at the neighbor's house.

Riverfront with options!

This is a wonderful site with lots of options and a surprising amount of space! Big flat area effortlessly hosts a giant 5th wheel (or two!) while a shaded upper area was optimal for my camper van or a trailer. Just below that was a long strip at rivers edge (but still a few feet up the bank) ideal for tents and tiring out dogs (or kids!). Even had a picnic table waiting. The site is easily accessed off the road, but that does mean you’ll have cars passing close by (moderate speed, roughly one every minute or two). Didn’t bother me but something to consider if you’re sensitive to that. As another reviewer noted, yes the neighbors play music on a capable set of outside speakers for an hour or two in the afternoon, but it passed eventually and things were quiet most of the time. I’d still come back. Good Starlink connectivity with just a bit of obstructions at the edges that I could probably have avoided if I setup elsewhere.

Good location close to river and convenient to town.. road noise didn't bother us at all... but... the neighbor next door played VERY LOUD bass music both days for 2-3 hours. If that doesn't bother you, and when that wasn't going on, the spot is great with beautiful river views and access.

Garden Valley River Access Campsite
Robert's property has top notch access to the river. We had so much fun playing in the water all day. Our kiddos didn't have too much issues getting in. Great spot for dogs, too. The main camp area is big but does not have any shade and is right by the road. We had 1 tent down by the water and utilized the small flat area just above the camp spot on the river. We easily backed in 3 trailers and had shade during the day. Neighbors are super friendly.

The road next to the one flat area to park a rig, in our case a van, was much busier and louder than we expected, well into the night. Because you are parked just a few feet off the road, it makes for an unpleasant experience.

Tent camp down by the river. Love the privacy and the berm between the spot and the road really keeps things quiet. Wildlife was fantastic- elk walking through the creek, a bald eagle that hung around all night, and more! Will definitely stay again

Garden Valley River Access Campsite
Great place to stay with a group of people and dogs so we really loved it. Not really conducive for younger kids wanting to play in water because it’s not level and the water front is low below the campsite. Some leveling would really turn this place into a hidden gem. But otherwise wonderful stay! Would recommend:)

Garden Valley River Access Campsite
This campsite was amazing. Being so close to the river and having such a rad area for our kids to play was the highlight of our weekend. Being close to road was no issue and by the time sun went down it was so quiet. Robert was always very helpful and responded back very quickly. Overall we would recommend this spot. Great for tent camping or camp trailers

Garden Valley River Access Campsite
Very clean campsite. The really only flat ground and space for a trailer is at the top of the site. Big flat area but it was right next to the road. Then a hill to get done to a pretty area with trees by the river. We had a bunch of kiddos with us, and it was very difficult for them to get in and out of the water. There is not a ton of clearing from the bushes and there is a slope into the water. The grass area is nice but only a couple small areas for tents that are not slanted. we made it work, but I definitely would not stay there again worried about dogs and kids next to the road and not great access in and out of the river. If you have no kids, the area is beautiful if you plan on tent camping that’s better.

Stayed on the lower spot with tents and weren't able to find perfectly level spots so slid around a wee bit but other than that the spot was great. The upper spot is much more flat but didn't want to be that close to the road without an RV. Easy access to river, not too far from town, the host had thoughtfully stocked us some firewood kept dry inside a plastic bag which was unexpected and appreciated!

Beautiful spot by the river, birds all over, overlooking a lovely treed lawn across the way and the river. There's a fire pit, a shallow section to get into the river, and a little shade though not a ton. Our only negatives were that the path to the river is quite steep and hard to get back up, and also that the 1st area (where you have to park your camper if you bring one) is very near the road. I assumed this would be a quiet back road but it's fairly frequently traveled so road noise and headlights at night were annoying. For tent camping in the lower section, it would be fabulous I think.

The campsite was great! It’s very private, easy to find, and very spacious. The river access was so great for the kiddos and adults alike. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back !

Garden Valley River Access Campsite
plenty of room for a group of 10. We used the upper lot for parking and trailer set up and the lower area for relaxing and river access. Plenty of hikes, day trips to the hot springs, and we even took advantage of the nearby resort for a break from cooking on evening. beatiful area to explore and this was a perfect jumping off point.
