Coweeta Creek Campground is a charming small "boutique" campground nestled along Coweeta Creek in the heart of an Otto rural neighborhood. Each RV site is gravel, shaded, and sits along the peaceful Coweeta Creek. The campground property has a large field for games (kickball, soccer, volleyball), as well as a flat 1/4 mile loop which you can view our mini homestead farm. We have chickens (currently no rooster), bees, vegetable gardens, and a small fruit orchard. Turkey Foot Trail is a 1/2 mile trail that takes you through the wooded area to the peak of the property.
The campground is only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 20 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Once you are at the campground you won't want to leave the beauty of the creek!
Strong Wifi is available at all sites. Network password will be provided before arrival.
Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. My family purchased in 2022 and opened a few camping sites for a more family friendly, intimate setting.
*Please send us a message if you are interested in renting out the entire property for family reunions, birthdays, or other events. There is potential for 10 sites with water/electricity along the creek, but we don't advertise it!

I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another.
Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more!
The landscape is picturesque and the mountain views are truly breathtaking in every direction. The farm hosts farm to table dinners that sell out year after year. Their U-Pick fruit opportunities evolve throughout the season with something always coming in from early summer through fall. A list of available fruit is updated often on their website, upcoming events and information about cabin rentals on Horseshoe Lake.
The recent addition of a distillery on the farm means the fruit is grown, fermented, distilled and bottled on the farm. The distillery is open year round Monday – Saturday. ged in oak barrels and aged to produce some of the finest liquors made in these mountains.
The farm store is complete with fresh produce (in season), canned jams, jellies and bottled ciders. Grass-fed, natural, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef is sold in the store. The cattle are raised on pasture which produces some of the healthiest beef you can buy. Using only natural, humane and environmentally sustainable practices, the Lands and their staff raise beef as nature intended. Bringing the best to your family has never been easier.
Belle's Bistro at Chattooga Belle Farm serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups made with the freshest ingredients possible. The bistro is open for lunch Tuesday – Sunday from April – October. Their menu includes Certified South Carolina Grown food which makes for an outstanding menu, also which can be viewed on chattoogabellefarm.com.
When it comes to weddings, Chattooga Belle Farm has it all! A few features about our property:
- Working farm: Campers are welcome to meet our Icelandic sheep and take a self-guided tour of our farm, along designated pathways.
- Security: The campground and farm are fenced in on three sides with the river being the fourth boundary. Personal code to the entrance gate will be given at check in.
- Bath House: The restored bathhouse is split into boys’ and girls’ sides. Each side has 2 private showers, 4 flushing toilets, sinks, hot water, and gas heat.
- Community Pavilion: The Pavilion is a large 40x30 ft. open sided structure overlooking the Nantahala River. It has an ample fireplace, running water sink, counter space, couches, and table with benches.
- Pack Room: Where the adventure begins! A cozy hub where all guests get local information, view maps, and grab some local seasonal groceries. Also available to all campers are washing sinks with hot water, toaster oven and microwave.
- Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available.
- Charging: Traveling in an electric vehicle? Recharge for free at our dedicated EV 50amp outlet when you stay at any of our sites. First come, first served.

Our 19 acres on Brushy Mountain is nestled away in the Ellicott Rock Wilderness Area of the Nantahala National Forest, the largest of NC's four National Forests with over 500,000 acres of pristine wilderness. The famous Iron Bridge over the headwaters of the Chattooga River is just a short drive away down Bull Pen Road. You will find some of the best trout fishing and hiking trails in all of North Carolina at your doorstep. This temperate rain forest is enjoyable in every season and is exceptional in its ecological diversity and abundance. If you are interested in hiking to beautiful waterfalls, fishing in native trout streams, bird watching or star gazing, this is the place for you! And if you need supplies from town, Cashiers is the closest and is about 25 minutes away and Highlands is about a 45 minute drive. Both have great restaurants and shops to check out.
Our gated, gravel driveway is steep and a half mile long. You will need an all-wheel or 4 Wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway without spinning. There is ample space to turn around to park, but due to the nature of our driveway we limit the length of RV's to no more than 20 feet. If you do not feel comfortable maneuvering your RV up steep. winding and gravel terrain, please email me to discuss.

My wife and I came up and stayed a week. I can't imagine a better place to relax in the mountains. Melissa is a great host, very nice and helpful. It has everything I look for while camping, beauty, serenity, the sound of water, a chorus of katydids at night, wonderful shade trees (Tulip Poplars), sites far apart and private, water, electricity, sewer, no views of houses, no road noise, clean bathrooms and showers, I could go on and on. The view from the site is the creek with a lush green hillside and the opposite view is this tiny valley homestead with gardens, chickens, beehives, old barn, log cabin. This was a perfect first camping trip adventure for my kids with the comfort needed for the adults. The RV was spacious enough for all four of us and our pups and the view was spectacular! With the creek right near our site we were able to splash, hunt crawl dads, and lets the kids fish a little for fun. They are already begging to go back for longer! The hosts were super nice and helpful with any of our needs and can’t wait for next summer to go back again! Thank you so much for the adventures and memories!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Coweeta Creek Campground! Melissa was an exceptional host—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great experience. The campground was incredibly quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We loved seeing deer wander through the property, the friendly chickens around the campground, and falling asleep to the soothing sound of the flowing creek right next to our campsite. Everything was spotless and exceptionally well maintained, from the campsites to the bathhouse and all of the other amenities. If you're looking for a beautiful, serene campground with outstanding hospitality and a true connection to nature, Coweeta Creek Campground is a hidden gem.

The bathhouse is great, the pavilion is beautiful with views of the river. The hosts provide things like marshmallow roasting sticks and firewood for communal use at the pavilion. We loved fern gully! When we arrived there was a cart by our parking spot to help us unload the truck and haul everything to the campsite. The walk from the car to the site was about 50 yards gradually downhill. There was already wood in the fire pit that was perfectly set up to easily light up a fire. There was even extra firewood on the porch waiting for us. We were able to charge phones and stuff with the extension cord that powers the light in the tent.

We stayed in "The Hole" and it was like you were in a fairytale forest. That site was stunning. Not the one we originally went for but we were not disappointed. Not any steady wifi, so if you have to work bring a hotspot to connect to because there is not a 'unprivate' one to hook up to.

Such a peaceful little getaway!! Nick and Tja ([tee-ya] embarrassed that I pronounced her name wrong! 🤦♀️) are phenomenal hosts!! Glamping/camping serene spot, nestled in the mountains, right next to a babbling brook/creek....😍 We stayed in Adventure Basecamp #8, a comfy little camper with everything you need! Toilet, shower, beds, fridge, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, stove, kitchen essentials, Blackstone, small firepit... it's there! They also offer fresh eggs, some camp essentials (firewood, starters, kindling, brews, and a few other things to get ya by, if you've not stopped at the market on the way in!) They greeted us at our spot, so friendly, welcoming, and personable!!) And, talk about prompt, with any questions or needs!! ❤️ Bestie and I took our 2 pups, and they loved it as much as we did. I loved camping at the Brass Camp. Peaceful location in close proximity to the Bath House and Camp Store. Even on the high ground you can still hear the sounds of the Nantahala River. Be sure to spend some time walking around the Farm visiting all the animals.

Wow. This place is too good to be true and I almost want to keep it a secret. The campground is in a gorgeous setting along the Nantahala River and near the Appalachian Trail, and it's got every amenity you might want- a beautiful pavilion with camping stove, fireplace, dish washing station, and dining area overlooking a meadow with rabbits and guinea fowl walking around and a beautiful stretch of the Nantahala, which you can wade in and cool-off on a hot day. The bunk house was a cute one-room spot with nooks for each bed, reading lamps, and convenient to the bathhouse (above it, but we didn't have any noise issues) and camp store that's got firewood, ice cream, food, snacks, and more. Hot water, drinking water, and tons of comforts for camping or glamping. It's also got the working farm on the property, which was a hit for the kids, along with the mill. Greg was a phenomenal host- took the kids to feed the geese, donkey, and sheep, brought a guitar to the pavilion for us all to hang out and jam, regaled us with great stories, and he also helped us do a very nice one-way ~2.5 mile hike on the AT by during me back from the terminus in his truck so I could drop off my car at the end and then driving my family and I to the starting point of the hike (which isn't too far from the campground.) Went above and beyond and the whole place and experience were magical. We also met Heath, one of the farmers, and he was super kind. Highly recommended and we plan to come back!
