We are a 125 acre property that has 36 holes of championship disc golf. The North Oconee River runs through our property as well as three ponds throughout. We have plenty of room to pitch your tents. It really depends on how far you would like to be from the bathhouse. We are 6 miles from Lake Lanier and the Chattahooce River, and a short drive to hiking/mountain biking trail heads.
We have a wonderful bathhouse with restrooms, showers and laundry just a very short walk from our sites (maintained by the staff at the park).
We're also pet-friendly and love our furry campers! Just add the pet fee for each pet in the extras section at check out or send us an email letting us know ahead of time and we will get that added. We just ask that you do not leave your pet alone in the tents at any time unless properly crated. You are financially responsible for any damage that is done to our accommodations by your pets.

Come join us at this unforgettable camping spot at Historic Castleberry Bridge where the Gold Rush happened, the Indian fish trap still exist, the birth place of Denver Colorado and the hideout of Jesse James just some of the history that happened at your campsite on the Etowah River. Our motto is "Thanks for keeping it clean," so help us spread the word and keep it true!
Look for the gate at 851 Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and George (owner) should be there. He will open the second gate for you where you will be able to drive through and park at your site - weather permitting. To the left of the first gate is the community area with toilet, grills, picnic tables, etc. Remember, your phone might not work near the river. If you need help, you might have to go back up to the road to call us. George (the owner) is there most every day and all day. For help contact Gini or George Ferris 404-431-2564 or 727-204-3932.
There's so much fun waiting for you to explore! Tubes are available for a $5 charge per day. If you're feeling extra adventurous, there are rope swings that let you swing over the river, and there are super cool places to splash around and swim, part of which, is in the Indian Fish Trap.
When your tummy starts rumbling, don't worry. We've got you covered with grills in the community area where you can cook delicious food. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc.
But wait, there's more excitement! If you're looking for an even bigger adventure, this is the perfect spot to begin an awesome kayaking trip if you brought your kayak. Castleberry Bridge is where people from all over the country come to experience going through the Miner's Tunnel.

I purchased this property in 2016 from the estate of Robert Masters. Mr. Master's and his family lived on this property since 1957 in the small red brick house at the road, Green Shutters Cottage, an Airbnb/VRBO. He raised chickens and cattle. The cows are the reason this property looks the way it does with it's magnificent trees. I suspect this piece of property has had cattle on it for 100+ years. Mr. Masters worked at the Historic Habersham Mill down the road as did many of the locals. I have named the farm, Sole Farm. (Sole is Italian for Sun) The house on the hill, my home, is the Villa del Sole. I look forward to having you come and enjoy this beautiful piece of land I call home.

COVID-19: None of the camp sites are even in sight of one another. The sights are large enough so that you and your fellow campers can social distance from one another. I certainly respect your wishes and will social distance while packing you into your site with the tractor.
You will pull into 495 Habersham Mill Rd, Green Shutter Cottage. There is a gravel drive that goes down behind Green Shutters Cottage. There is a Hip Camp sign pointing the way. I will pick you up there with the tractor to pack you in and I will pack you out as well. Vehicles are NOT allowed on the property. You WILL get stuck. Please be courteous and respect my time and let me know when you are going to arrive so that I can be available to assist you.
A breathtaking view of the distant mountains greets you as you come on to the property as well as the majestic Villa del Sole, a Tuscan style villa on top of the hill, my home. The land drops away into rolling pastures dotted with ancient trees, some 300+!. The woodlands are filled with wildlife that surround the property where you are completely isolated from the world. There are two creeks that border each side of the property and join together and flow into Lake Habersham then into the Soque, the top trophy trout stream in the southeast. The water in these streams is pure. Please respect this and bring Earth friendly soap for washing dishes. I recommend Dr. Bonner's Pure castile soap. There is a creek by each camp site. The Woodland sites and the Meadow both have streams, fire pits, benches and latrines. I will pack you into and out of your site with the tractor. I do not allow vehicles on the property. You can walked to the sites if you like. I do welcome well behaved dogs. I have two that live here with me, Buster and Rufus. They will probably come pay a visit at some point.
Depending on where you want to camp there are three possible campsites to choose from: The Meadow, 2 to 24 campers and, The Woodland site, 2 to 8, The Head Waters, 2 to 6 campers. The Head Waters site is down next to the creek and next to a meadow, very secluded, no latrine. The Meadow is best for larger groups of 8 or more. It is is a medium size meadow with flat ground suitable for spacing a number of tents out. There is a fire pit, grill/grate and three benches. It also has a creek and a latrine. The Woodland site is suitable for 2 to 8 campers but is a bit limited on places to pitch tents. It too has a fire pit, grill/grate, benches, and a latrine. It is by far the prettiest site. It's possible to sit in the creek in areas during hot weather(shallow water and COLD!. You are not completely disconnected from the world here(WIFI) but far enough away to feel isolated and private. In the bottoms, you are nestled in the woods and can see nothing around you but forest, not even the Villa and not the other campers in the meadow. You see no neighbors, houses, lights, etc. Stargazing from on top of the hill is not to be missed. I recommend Sky Watch app. Clarkesville is close by. Ingles is close by for forgotten supplies or a Starbucks fix. Yonah Cafe is great for breakfast and specialty coffees This is a small town, rural area, quiet and slow. There is plenty more to do if you just want Sole Farm camp as a base. Tallulah Gorge is 20 minutes to the north and hiking at Panther Creek. Alpine Helen is a 20 minute drive Many good hiking opps are close by, waterfalls, thrifting. The Chattahoochee is good for canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There are several stables that offer trail rides close by. You are allowed to walk all over the property using the mown paths but please respect the other campers and my privacy. I will be respecting yours.

We loved this place!!
The campsites are super cute and right next to the river. The sounds of the river was the best white noise ever and I had some of the best sleep of my life, even on an air mattress!
The sites are small so be prepared for that.
The fire pits were ready for us and they stack it very well. Fire started right up and there's plenty of wood to keep it going all night.
There's also tubing and a little beach, which will entertain the family all day! Too cold on this trip but we're excited to come back and try it!
We had a great trip and can't wait to come back! Thank you George and Gini for being gracious hosts and so accommodating! We had a wonderful time!

Camp site 2 sits far enough away from the road next to a hill for some privacy. The disc golf courses are amazing and it was nice to be able to relax at the end of a long day. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. Bathrooms are a decent walk but very nice and clean.

Weekend Trip to Herzen Platz (a place in the Heart)
Herzen Platz (Place in the Heart) is appropiately named. The location was a delightful little piece of nature with its beautiful foilage, flowering plants and trees alongside a babbling creek and was just overall beautiful. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our charming host Gary and his sweet little pups. He gave us a lay of the land, informed us of additional services offered (Like gourmet breakfast and other fare options available and use of the hot tub) and gave us recommendations on various local things to explore.
The tent itself was definitely the embodiment of glamping with its full size bed, leather futon, coffee station, and bottle of wine, complete with glass wineglasses, that greeted us upon arrival. It even had fans and a heater to accomodate the variances in temperature. The modern day outhouse consisted of a compsting toilet, mirror and outdoor handwashing station. Next to it was a shower with a tankless water heater that allowed us to take glorious hot showers. It was a fantastic experience!
Although it may not be typical for other guests, we were enchanted by the place and wanted to get to know its owner. As a result, we opted to talk to Gary and get to know him. He is truly a lovely soul!
My friend and I had the best time. We highly recommend Hertzen Platz and definitely plan on returing!!!

The owners are so nice here. This is a very sweet spot. I camped down by the creek, where I could hear a gentle sound of water flowing, and I was serenaded by frogs at night. There’s a short trail to walk along the creek, through a bamboo grove with fairy lights, passing an RC boardwalk, skywalk, bridge and boulder fields. I can tell they put a lot of love and detail into their RC adventures. Looks really fun!
As long as you understand that there is no electricity, water, shower or restroom after hours and are prepared, then it’s all good. I personally prefer to bring my own overnight toilet rather than have to walk a ways in the middle of the night, so it was fine with me. There were some traffic sounds from the country road, but it quieted down a lot by nighttime.
The 2 creekside spots were level, well draining and large enough for 2 tents and cars, with a fire ring. Being way down the hill, it was quiet and dark enough, I felt a world away from the hustle bustle.

The location was amazing sleeping with the stream right behind this I had beautiful sounds and energy. We can go to Byrd call Flow water was awesome. Not to mention that Sieff‘s cooking every morning was top-notch. I’m plant based and so he accommodated the alterations to the menu and it was absolutely beautiful. There was tons of activities, nearby, wineries, beautiful hikes, and even more attractions that didn’t take away from the scenery that we were in. I will definitely be staying here again.

Great place to relax, hear the stream, and enjoy the outdoors without having to haul in or set up much. Gary the host is very kind and chill and does a great job making his guests feel at home.

With pets
The kids and I had a great time tent camping at Castleberry Bridge! We loved being right on the water and George kept us well-stocked with firewood. If the weather was a bit warmer, we would have enjoyed the tubes and been on the water more. However, the chilly weather didn't keep the kids off the rope swing the first day. George and Gini thought of many things one might have forgotten for a fun, safe day-- first aid kits, life vests, doggie bags, inflating pumps, etc. The location is close to a Dollar General if anything else is needed. George was a gracious host, offering to help with whatever might be needed. Thank you for such a wonderful experience camping on the river!
