We are a 125 acre property that has 36 holes of championship disc golf. The North Oconee River runs through our property as well as three ponds throughout. We have plenty of room to pitch your tents. It really depends on how far you would like to be from the bathhouse. We are 6 miles from Lake Lanier and the Chattahooce River, and a short drive to hiking/mountain biking trail heads.
We have a wonderful bathhouse with restrooms, showers and laundry just a very short walk from our sites (maintained by the staff at the park).
We're also pet-friendly and love our furry campers! Just add the pet fee for each pet in the extras section at check out or send us an email letting us know ahead of time and we will get that added. We just ask that you do not leave your pet alone in the tents at any time unless properly crated. You are financially responsible for any damage that is done to our accommodations by your pets.

The site is surrounded with tons of farmland and forest, making it a private oasis just minutes from excellent restaurants, nightlife, breweries, and all things UGA! Looking for hiking? You are just miles away from state parks! Get away your way....not the hotel way!
The Great Escape currently has power and water hook-up but does not have direct sewer access. We do have a spot to dump your black tank when you leave and we do allow gray tank water directly on the ground. We also have 3 RV sites with full hook-ups for long-term renters and a spot for our camper that we rent out on Airbnb. This property offers privacy along with peace and security.
For the more adventurous type, we also have a boondocking option for those who do not need the extra amenities. This option offers tent camping in the woods or a space to park a camper or small motorhome for 1-2 nights. Please reach out first regarding this option.

I have been an equestrian for 40+ years and horses are my passion. Recently purchased this beautiful , peaceful property in 2017 and have had to think outside the box to continue to care for my wonderful animals as when I moved from urban environment to rural , my income has been challenging to teach enough horseback lessons to survive and discovered Hipcamp!

We liked it so much the first time, we decided to go back. It was as awesome as we remembered. Anna is very kind; the location is secluded but near to hiking and other attractions. There's a lovely stream the kids can play in (no more than 18 inches deep at its deepest spot). There were so many stars at night--such a relief to get away from the city. There's a port-a-potty nearby, a water pump... and a lovely space. Exactly what we remembered.

I loved my time spent at Brooks Lake. Bill and Laura are just the best people. Communication was great when I arrived on where to camp, where to park, where the facilities were, etc.
The views are pristine. Beautiful trees, a gorgeous lake, you can fish, there are pavilions and picnic tables all around, and some friendly geese walking around as well! I would absolutely come back here again and look forward to it, already!

Great campsite and well cared for. My only suggestion is they read messages fully. I asked 3-4 questions and got a single word reply. So communicate was not great, but I’d definitely stay again. Very accessible and comfortable campsite.
