2 nights at Whispering Oaks Lakeside Sanctuary

Whispering Oaks Lakeside Sanctuary lives up to its name. It is picturesque, colorful, calming, and quiet. Take notice of the trees, the grass, the blue sky, the clouds, the moon, the plants, the flowers, the owls, the hawks, and the variety of other birds, the squirrels, the roosters, and the clear water. Bring wood for the fire and gaze across the water or the stars at night. Erica is a friendly, personable, and helpful host. Her dog is, too. The space and the accommodations were perfect for me. Having electricity was a bonus. There is plenty of space. It is so quiet during the day and night. I plan to visit again.

This was a great place to spend a couple days...more if you're not passing thru like we were. A nice private patio next to the spot gave us enough space to put up our 2' tall fence for the pups. Robert and Sherri were very accommodating, and he provided us with pamphlets about things to do and places to eat in the area. We could not have asked for a better St. Aug area stay! Spot is level and easy to get into and out of. Will ask to stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Great location that gives a nice sense of privacy. Well maintained. We walked to the beach daily, took our pup on a neighborhood stroll and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. While we did t get to meet Sherri, Robert was very friendly.

It was lovely! Near downtown st augustine which was perfect for us, loved that our dog was allowed off leash as he stays close anyway, got to feed the horses in the morning - shower was hot and felt safe and had enough privacy!

Stayed here for two nights with my wife, 2 kids and our dog. Host was very nice and was helpful in helping us find the campground as we went in through the first gate lol others have made the same mistake, keep going down the road there’s another gate at the next left. The campground was nice, my kids enjoyed seeing the the horses and chickens. The porta potty was as clean as a porta potty can get, was nice to have available. There is a shower, although we personally didn’t use it. It is attached to the back of what seemed like where someone was living? So kinda threw us a little to see personal items in the shower like shower gel and razors. The kids did play in the playground and trampoline which was nice, they showed their age but was functional. We used the existing fire pit to build a fire both nights, make sure to bring your own wood, I did see some there but wasn’t sure if it was available to all and it was covered in carpenter ants. The ONLY thing that I think would prevent me from staying here again was the noise at night. There is a train that blares its horn all night, I read it in previous reviews but figured people were exaggerating. They were not. It is ALL NIGHT LONG and is loud, it kept us up both nights. We were considering leaving after the first night. There is a little bit of road noise that can be heard as well but that wasn’t such a big deal. All in all, good experience but be forewarned.

4 nights at Anastasia Island RV Pad Rental

We loved camping on Robert’s property. We had full hookups, a rarity in hip camps. We had a lovely little patio and also use of the backyard overlooking a pond. Robert was very helpful in getting us set up and gave us a welcome pack for St Augustine. We found it very easy to drive down to old town St Augustine for the day with a parking lot just for busses and rvs. Very easy to walk around the old city. One day we rode our bikes to the St Augustine beach and the next day we rode to Anastasia State Park. All in all it was a wonderful stay.

2 nights at Celestial Acres

We absolutely loved parking our 30ft RV at Jen’s MOON site. Communication was perfection the whole time and Jen was so accomodating when we needed to amend our dates. Jen gave us great tips on visiting St Augustine with an RV, a short drive away and welcomed my children into her yard where they played on the playground and with all the lovely farm animals (pigs, a horse, dogs and cats). If we are ever in this part of the world again (from Australia) we would love to return.

Weekend Trip to Vineyard Lake Getaway

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we were a little apprehensive staying on private property. It couldn't of gone more perfectly. Kenny called before we got there with instructions. We were the only ones there which was perfect. We did not spend a lot of time there as we were visiting family. Would definitely stay again!

I actually did not make it to this site, but the host was very accommodating when messaging back-and-forth. It looks amazing in the pictures and has lots of good reviews so the next time I’m in the area I will try it out for sure.

We really enjoyed staying with Sherri and Robert. They are very friendly and welcoming. The pad was super clean. We had a little area to hang out in outside of camper van. The location is perfect and we biked everywhere. I highly recommend the site. If we go back to St. Auggie we will stay there again. Thank you Sherri and Robert for everything.

Camping with our travel trailer on this property was a great experience. It was peaceful and secluded but still close to restaurants and stores. My grandkids and dogs loved the horses. Would definitely recommend.

They both have electric, black and grey water cleanout, fast high speed internet (full hookup). They each have private patios for picnics, socializing, and relaxing. Both pads have high speed internet. Pad 1 accommodates an RV up to up to 32' in length. Pad 2 accommodates an RV up to 34' in length. We accept small Class A Motorhomes 32' and under, Class B, Class C, Small 5th Wheel, Pop-up Campers, Vans and Travel Trailers. Sorry, no tent camping is allowed. There is also a large back deck with picnic area overlooking the small fishing lake in the back yard. We enjoy meeting fellow travelers and sharing our paradise island. We are LGBTQ friendly. We have a water and electricity hook ups for 4 spots. Spaces for the boats are available also. No sewage disposal.There is a dog on the property. Dogs are ok but have to be cleaned after and be on the leash.Please no loud noise after the dark, no drugs or heavy drinking.Our guests love staying with us " We enjoyed our stay at Roxie’s place. Really great location close to the beach and grocery stores and restaurants, yet it is still in a quiet place just off the beaten path. Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

Olive Land Farms is a 12.4 acres farm growing over 2500 Olive trees of 8 different varieties of olives, from 3 of the most renowned olive producing countries in the world. They have been growing here in Hastings, Florida for over a year as they all migrated here from California. The goal of our research project is to establish whether olives could be a profitable crop for the State of Florida. Our research is headed by Reinaldo Valdes, PHD and with the collaboration of Olive growers from Andalucia, Spain. We have 2 varieties from Greece: Koroneiki and Kalamata, 2 varieties from Italy: Taggianca and Ascolana, and 4 varieties from Spain: Picuale, Manzanilla, Arbozana and Arbequina. We are hoping to have our first harvest in 3 to 5 years, until then, we are importing olive oil, representing some of the best olive oils in the world, and educating the consumers about the great qualities and properties of cooking and enjoying the best, heathiest oil in the world, as well as olives. Olive Land Farms also sell trees for homes and garden. In addition to our Olive grove we are a carbon farm, as our trees grow, they will be absorbing carbon dioxide form the environment. A fully grown olive tree can absorb 4.5 tons of carbon dioxide per year, according to the International Olive Council ( you do the math, especially when we are very close to one of the few coal burning power plants still in operation in our country) We are also a bird sanctuary, you will see a vast variety of birds, it’s an amazing show, we have different bird at all seasons, ducks migrating south for the winter as well as when they are heading back north, quite a sight to see, hawks, cardinals and cranes and the most amazing sunrises and sunsets, come visit with us. Olive Land Farms is a family learning and growing experience for all our guests, no politics, no soliciting, no negative energy, come and enjoy a peaceful day among the olive trees.
