Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location.
But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future.
However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families.
As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch.
You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! It’s up to you. We are a peaceful, safe location from which you can stage your Florida adventure. Come on by. We look forward to hosting you!

Park your van/small RV or pitch your tent on our rural homestead conveniently located 1000 ft off of US Hwy 1. Nearest I-95 exit is 3 miles away. Watch rocket launches, visit nearby beaches, attend NASCAR races, see local communities, relax at Canaveral National Seashore, birdwatch at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, fish Mosquito Lagoon, or visit the amusement parks of Orlando, we are a safe and quiet location from which to stage your adventures. We have two campsites. Site 1 is a nice level, grassy campsite for tent or RV, complete with a fire ring, picnic table, and firewood. Site 2 is the Glamping Greenhouse! The space is private and fully immersed in nature. It's so peaceful. When I arrived, the host Kimberly brought in a fire pit, snacks, tiki torches, water, and several other thoughtful things in case I needed anything. Once she showed me where to camp and left all the things I could enjoy for the weekend, she honored my privacy and didn't come back again- but made herself available to text if I needed anything.
There were even chairs and tables outside to relax with. Unfortunately it was too warm for a campfire, but I do hope to be back to enjoy the spot again.

This was a great camping spot within reasonable driving distance of Playa Linda beach, Merritt Island wildlife refuge, Titusville and the Kennedy Space Center. Power is available, but no water or flush toilets, as the listing clearly explains. It is a very reasonably priced, level, well laid out site in a great location and the owners were always available, but never obtrusive - even had a fire made up and ready to light in the fire pit when we arrived.

Weekend Trip to Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
Had an amazing and relaxing weekend. The campsite itself was very private, and the proximity to the “private-ish” beach was the best part. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was the perfect private getaway. The only downside was that the mini fridge at our site wasn’t working, so we had to rely on our cooler. Aside from that small issue, it was a 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be back for the peace and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
What a great place! First of all, you are just across the street from the beach and from a turtle sanctuary!! It’s one of the last spots on the Atlantic coast of Florida which is not overdeveloped. I hesitate to broadcast it too much as it is so special!
John runs a small surf shop and a surf camp. So there’s a low key, cool business attached to the property (filled with great books to be loaned). The yurt is quite comfortable and has all the amenities you need. It’s very quiet and surrounded by jungle like foliage. I highly recommend this place. We will absolutely be back. My only suggestion is in summer note that they have mosquitoes. It’s manageable, but prepare in advance.

We loved Sandy’s Swamp. She’s a great host. She met us on time and showed us around. As advertised. Roughing it with perks. Our first morning in the swamp started with 4 hours of thunderstorms. We chilled in the large dry screened porch. Would have been horrible without it. Kayak launch was simple. Will be back when it’s cooler. Maybe a day trip so we can sleep in AC after a long shower.
