I went there to have some time alone. The property was nice, there was a lot of traffic and air traffic noise on which I hadn't considered until I got there. Other than that, very beautiful. I was greeted and shown the way to my cabin by one of the owners. Thank you.

We loved camping at Cotee River Bend! The tent site was tucked away and private. All amenities were wonderful - fire pit, picnic table, clean bathrooms, and shower. The walk along the river was so peaceful and the chairs in the gazebo were perfect for morning coffee. Spotted birds (an owl!), some fish, and a rabbit. Just what we needed!

What a gem! This place is a water, nature and plant lovers paradise! Launching your kayak (or there a LOTS to borrow) from the property takes it to an entire new level. The fire pit, tiki hut and grounds are great! Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Weeki Watchee! PS - I saw manatee, dolphins, turtles, every bird imaginable when I was there in early April. The trick to be out of the crowds is go up ABOVE Rogers park toward Mud River. I’ve done all of Weeki many times and this was by far my favorite!

What a great place to stop for a few nights in our RV. The land was well kept, and had a great woodland area to explore. Was close to New Port Richey (Uber $10). Laura had typed up a list of places to eat which was handy. Would definitely recommend.

Courtney and Franky were really cool. They have great hospitality and are down to earth. They helped us with wood, setting up, understanding the natural habitats around the area and so much more. This place was so great. It was peaceful. We saw wild baby bunnies, unidentified birds, and ducks. The nature trail was a big hit with the kids because of fallen trees they loved climbing. The road noise at night was loud at times. Lots of small planes too because the Brooksville airport is nearby. The soot we had was private and cozy with a wooden deck for tent (although ours is too big for it), nice bew picnic table, water hose, fire pit with chairs all surrounded by a privacy fence. Bathrooms were a bonus for sure and with hot water. We did not use the shower, but there is one. We will be back.

Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not that remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a lazy winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.
