The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!). If you don't have your own RV, you can rent one from Ray Day's RV Rentals (229-515-7008), which is literally around the corner.

This location is close to the head springs and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park where you can discover the wild side of Florida with endangered Florida panther, red wolf, manatee and whooping crane, plus black bear, bobcat and, of course, alligator.
The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. This is a residential area and is very quiet. You can see the layout of the property in the photos from an aerial view as well as other photos of the setup.
This listing is for the SITE ONLY. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. We provide full hookups (water, sewer, 50amp electric) for your RV as well as WIFI service and access to the docks for your boat or swimming. We have kayaks and paddleboards INCLUDED with our site or bring your own to paddle the springs and take a chance at seeing a manatee up close and personal or catching some fish. We love to share our space with like minded outdoorsy people who respect nature and like to relax in the outdoors. This is not a party place, loud music or late nights aren't acceptable.

We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!). The intro email lays out everything you need to know. The hosts are very kind and welcoming people. Have a great set up on their property, and all of the campsites have enough space around them to have a feel of privacy, even when the place is full. I do recommend you bring firewood, or you can buy it here which is nice. They also let you pick up sticks so you can have small fuel and kindling to supplement your firewood with. Theres no shortage of sticks, they have a lot of healthy oak and pine trees on the property. It was a great spot to camp out while visiting Rainbow River and Springs for a paddle trip. Bring a hammock!

We had such a great experience at the Spotted Dance Ranch. The owners we so friendly and helpful. John even helped my camper backing challenged hubs into our space. We got a tour of the horse barn and great suggestions for the area. Clean bathhouse. Everything was perfect! Will return yearly for sure. Check out the nearby Withlachookie Trail, 46 places miles. We brought our e-bikes!

So generous to include laundry and kayak use. We enjoyed a paddle up Rainbow River and drinks at Swampy’s bar and grille. Enjoyed local hikes too. Our best Hipcamp stay!

Very nice setup. Close to the springs, restaurants and shopping if needed. Dock area is very nice. Comfy chairs and a table. The water is crystal clear so you can see all of the varieties of fish. Didn’t see any manatees at this spot as the weather is warming up. Kayaks and paddle boards are available and in good shape. The site itself is large with a nice table setup, solo fireplace and hookups. Site is level which is nice. Only met Alonda once as we pulled in but we had no issues so there was no need to bother her. The resident dog Jazzie, was friendly with my dog and she was very sweet. Excellent experience overall.

Away from the busy areas but close enough to many attractions within 45 minutes (Zoo Tampa, Busch Gardens, Florida State Fairgrounds, Seminole Hardrock Casino just to name some of the places we visited. Robert also was kind enough to pump our tanks before we left.

There is a reason the Lucky U Ranch was featured in the 2025 Best of Hipcamp - it is an amazing, beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Mike and Rob are WONDERFUL hosts and such very nice people. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We were there for an event in a neighboring town. The event was cancelled but instead of leaving we decided to stay and enjoy the ranch and we are so glad we did. We enjoyed the farm tour and seeing all of the animals that reside at the ranch. We had 3 - four legged guests each morning for breakfast that were friendly and truly loved apples. Our site was level and well maintained. Having a pad with a picnic table and outdoor carpet landing for our stairs was great. We camped in a 35 ft travel trailer. No issues entering the property or getting to our campsite.

The, area was very quiet. We really enjoyed it. Felt very much like the Florida that you don’t see when you’re a tourist. Large trees, hanging moss lots of foliage. The lot was level, had everything for hookups. Remember to bring your 50 to 30 amp reducer. The water was clear, we used the kayak and went for a beautiful day on the water.

I will never forget the wonderful week I spent at this campsite. It was so peaceful and private. The stars at night were amazing. I loved the trails where I could walk my dog and visit with the resident animals. Arcadio was a kind and helpful host with a lovely family. Having electricity made it possible to plug in a heated blanket on cold nights and recharge my phone. The nearby town of Dunnellon had groceries, supplies, restaurants, parks, and a beautiful river. It was friendly and felt very safe for a woman in her 70s traveling alone with a small dog. I can’t wait to come back!
