The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Monarch Manor Farm is also an official Monarch Butterfly weigh station and safe respite for migrating butterflies. These beautiful pollinators have been on Earth about 175 million years from what we can gather from fossils. Beyond the splendor that would be lost from the world if monarch butterflies went extinct, there would be ripple effects in the environment. Monarchs share their habitat with many other species of insects and birds. The birds would lose a food source, and their decline is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” for other pollinators. If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. This year (2024) we hope to finally get the Monarch Butterfly put on the endangered species list and see them rebound in numbers. So when you stay here you are also making a contribution that provides a safe chemical free environment for these super pollinators to multiply once again. All three sites are right around the pond with great views. A combination of large live oaks, shade and sun All sites also have a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Sarah's site was well off the beaten path; old Florida country at it's best! The camps have an unobstructed view of the river, with easy access to the dock. Lots of old growth trees for canopy. Sarah was very communicative, willing to work with us as we chose parking for the RVs and overall happy to help. Electric & water hookups are a bit farther away than we were used to, but she told us ahead of time and we were able to bring the connectors needed. Definitely recommend to those seeking a true "get away" without an abundance of unnecessary amenities & people.

Weekend Trip to Riverfront Santa Fe / Ichetucknee

Had a great 2 days staying in our rv at Jerry’s spot with 5 kids (4 being teenagers). Loved having the dock area to fish from, launch our paddle boards. Was nice to be able to tie up our boards and leave them on the water inside the dock slip area. Plenty of space for everyone to roam. The wash sink is a nice bonus I didn’t realize I needed in my life of camping lol. Best part we saw a momma and baby manatee swim by as we were hanging on the dock.

The hosts were very accommodating and gracious. Tom gave us an incredible tour and history of the property. His animals are amazing. The site was very private and clean. The sink hole is fascinating, though we weren't comfortable swimming in it. Plan to bring a shovel and toilet plan as the one at the site needs repair. There is plenty of downed wood around you but bring a saw as much of it is too large to break. Be sure to visit Fanning Springs State Park in addition to the better known sites closer by. The swimming area is fabulous and manatees were present.

They’ve covered so many details: directions are clear, sites are clearly marked and spaced out/private, toilet/outhouse is comfortable, dishes can be washed, shower also available, firewood bundle waiting at the fire pit, and the gorgeous property was clean/spotless/no trash anywhere. It was also quiet. Will definitely be back!

Tom and Judy were very hospitable and flexible, even when it came to making modifications in our party size. There were 9 of us and we had a great time at arrowhead sink. The sink itself was awesome, we spent a good portion of our time down there (bring some hiking shoes because it’s a steep decline to get into the sink and it’s a little wet and muddy). The location isn’t too far from a gas station and there is even an area with food trucks. Lots of fun!

Great camping spot! If you follow The Crossroads on Facebook you can see what events are happening. There is plenty of space across the property. Rv spots are large and a few with full hookups. Several with just water and power and plenty for tent camping. The whole property is impressive with tons to do. Frank and everyone else out there are super welcoming. We will be back for sure. It was very peaceful. Very nice little setup. Had a fire ring and picnic table and that’s all you need. Me dogs roamed around and quickly learned about the cactus. No harm done and there are warning signs, my dogs just can’t read. It’s a nice little retreat away. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time at Dunagan’s Meadow! The camping area was completely private and deep into the property, where traffic and neighborhood noises could not be heard. The camp site is clean and really beautiful - vast and lush with a meadow reminiscent of “The Sound Of Music.” The animals were friendly and we had the entire area all to ourselves! But what really made the experience special was Tom and Judy…they are amazing hosts - really attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely kind. This was our first experience tent camping together and they guided us through the set-up process, made us feel safe and comfortable, and even shared some of their future plans for a vacation home on the property…it will truly be a unique stay to experience once it’s completed! We highly recommend this site if you really want to get away from it all, be in a peaceful setting, and leave feeling rested, regenerated, and looking forward to your next visit. Rick’s land was great to camp on! The site is directly in front of a small pond. It has beautiful shade trees and is so quiet. It is across the pond from the bathroom/shower, but not a long walk. Rick himself was a pleasure to work with. He is very helpful (especially with lost phones in weird places 😬😅) and communicates in a timely manner. I would highly recommend his land for camping!

We thoroughly enjoyed Rick’s camp. It is some of the easiest camping we’ve done and the property is beautiful. The bathhouse is glorious and sites were perfectly positioned for our group. Plenty of room to spread out. The fishing and view of the pond was relaxing and fun. Nice shade, breeze, and sunny spots perfect for hanging out and napping. We will be coming back. Rick is a great and knowledgeable host who was very helpful, friendly, and clearly takes pride in caring for this super nice property.

This was a wonderful experience. The site was clean and very taken care of. Nature treated us well, we got to see many beautiful birds. Nights were quiet and peaceful. The Pileated place is amazing, so cozy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to camp. Bring peace with you, respect the owners and others living around that area.
