2 nights at A bit of paradise camping

David was welcoming and accommodating. The campsite was peaceful with a beautiful view of the river - and the dolphins were unforgettable! We were out on the dock watching the fireworks on July 4th and they swam by just a few feet away. This has a backwoods feel with the convenience of a full bath. Don't expect fancy, be prepared for mosquitos, and you'll have an adventure!

1 night at Runaway Bay Lodge

This is a great spot! Incredibly relaxing and full of fresh air. I loved laying out on the deck, fishing, and having a safe place to spend the night with nature on the other side of the door. The site comes plenty of amenities (hot shower, window AC units, indoor plumbing, stovetop burners, microwave, and fridge among other things). The owners have done a great job decorating the place, making functional and comfortable living spaces, and are just genuinely nice and sweet people. I had a great time and will be back!

Weekend Trip to North Shore Relic Ranch

I just had my first camping stop on my road trip and it was beyond amazing. Set up my rooftop tent and truck camp at night under the trees—everything worked perfectly. The area was quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. I had lights strung up, cooked a great steak right next to the truck, and even played some guitar by the table. It felt like home on wheels. If you’re into overlanding or just want a calm, scenic place to unwind, I totally recommend it. This spot set the tone for the rest of my journey—comfortable, functional, and full of good vibes.

2 nights at North Shore Relic Ranch

Relic Ranch is close enough to Orlando that you don’t need to drive hours to Ocala Forest, which is convenient! It was easy to access, with plain and simple directions. Camp ground is well maintained. The cows were fun to see! The mosquitoes are terrible in the summer but that’s to be expected in FL. And there’s a boat ramp with gorgeous views only half a mile from camp, which leads to Lake Apopka. I’ll be back!

This is a beautiful spot. The only downside is we didn't catch any fish😁. There is a school or someone that owns planes around there and are flying a lot. Was neat to see them land on lake. It is a good location to visit springs or beach. You are right in the middle. We also adventured to NASA for a day. Very well maintained!

Very nice camping experience!! Shaded, quiet, and lots of animals too connect with. Bought eggs and goat milk soap that the host sells. Secluded but yet close to stores. Would recommend!!!!

Quick overnight trip to Lake Apopka North Shore. I didn't realize how close the Ranch is to the trails. Might have to make a return trip when I have more time. Everything was as described. Site was quiet and secluded with good shade. Porta potty was clean. Saw an owl, opossums and armadillo.

Kathryn was a wonderfully friendly host and the camp site(s) were very pleasant. Highly recommended. All the necessary amenities and proximity to main roads, while maintaining a camping vibe.

Our experience here was more than we asked for. My partner and I enjoyed a day here during our birthday weekend and they really made it extra special for us. They even surprised us with a b-day desert. The chef that made the vegan burger is an excellent cook and the secluded yurt was lovely. We really enjoyed the opportunity to paint a memory on the walls of their abode as there were many other visitors that also left their memory. The tiki bar was chill and they have a lovely pool table and hot tub. It’s a very romantic place and it would be a great place to get away.

Really great location close to the beach and grocery stores and restaurants, yet it is still in a quiet place just off the beaten path. Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. We have 6 private acres located in Ocklawaha, in the Ocala National Forest, we have full hookups. The question is would you like to be in the forest or prefer a campground? The entire 6 acres is fenced, gated, safe & secure. There is room for a trailer if you’re hauling side by sides, boat, etc. This is a safe haven for the animals and they somehow know it’s safe here. We have never seen a bear on our property but the neighbors have had some visits from them. One of the entrances to the forest is just around the corner with many trails to take in your four WD’s. We have many lakes all around us and we are not too far(apx 6 miles) from the famous Lake Weir and Gator Joes restaurant. Silver Springs state park is approximately 12 miles away. The Ma Barker tours are always a favorite as well. You will be provided with a remote gate opener upon arrival. There is a burn pit, for those nighttime campfires, table and chairs, and camper has built in grill. The camper is brand new, never camped in so you are getting g a beautiful clean place to stay. Owners live on the premises and are present most of the time, we are outdoors a lot but we do not interfere with you and your camping experience. We are however a text or phone call away if any issues arise.

Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be.
