Welcome to Smokey Acres! This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there. Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch. Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees. Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando. A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing! Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience. Our neighbors, JG Ranch, offers U- Pick Fruit and Vegetables or a great selection of local harvest at their roadside stand. This 10-acre property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires together out there. I've recently moved back home with my own family and as much as we enjoy the land for ourselves we'd love to share it. Any profit from hosting campers will help us maintain our sustainable farm that we're hoping to expand onto Smokey Acres. Just in! Our dirt road has been repaved. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. The monarch farm was everything that Rick described it to be and so much more! The sites are huge. We easily fit three tents and had plenty of room left over. The large pond is absolutely beautiful. We fished every day and finally caught some elusive large mouth bass and one huge tilapia. My grandchildren fished from Sun up till sundown. The bath facilities were exactly as described and very comfortable to use. The property was very quiet with only an occasional sound of a truck and of course, our early morning wake up with the rooster. Our two dogs loved, running around and being free. I don’t know if there can be a better host than Rick! He checked on us every day and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved talking to him. This location is only 25 minutes from Gainesville yet very secluded. I think my only recommendation would be to put a different lock on the front gate, perhaps one with a combination but that’s it. I wouldn’t change a single thing. I truly loved being with my family in this location. This is definitely a five star location.

Wow…! My husband and I stayed here for 3 days over Thanksgiving and we absolutely loved it. Our campsite was secluded and beautiful, the portos were clean, and the owner is what makes this place a real gem. James is genuinely one of the most helpful and generous people I’ve met in Florida so far. We ran into some technical issues with our power station, and James helped us in every possible way — from letting us use his solar panels and generator to even helping us charge it at his house. He was attentive, responsive, and provided firewood whenever we needed (for a fee). We’re so grateful for everything he did, and we will 100% be back in the future. I highly recommend staying here. The only heads-up is that if you plan on using Starlink or similar setups, there isn’t the clearest sky view. We were able to get it working, and I was able to work, but there were some interruptions from tree cover — just something to be aware of.

The campsite was beautiful and the motion sensor solar lights were an awesome help at night. The tree cover keeps the campsites cool and shady. They have lots of cool things to see. The kids loved seeing the animals and being able to explore the camground freely. I would also recommend visiting wakiva springs while youre in the area!

We had a great time at Lucky U Ranch and will definitely be back! The bathrooms, showers, coffee bar, and dishwashing station were absolutely next level and set a new standard for camping. Rob and Mike also did a great job thinking of little things that made this day even more enjoyable. And of course, interacting with the animals was great fun for our whole group. We are frequent campers and brought along first timers - this was a great place to “break them in“ 🤓 We’re looking forward to our next visit!

Diane and Chris's property was perfect. The property itself is beautiful and nicely tucked away for some peace and quiet while still being very convenient to normal amenities and the special aspects of the Homosassa and Crystal River area. Our dogs had lots of space to roam and were particularly fond of Diane. Diane and Chris were both extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had whatever we needed. Diane is such a kind soul; she made excellent recommendations for the area and continually offered us amenities and help. One of our dogs got sick and she even kept checking in on her the rest of our stay. By far a favorite spot and favorite hosts for us.

We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink).
