Primitive camping is permitted at designated wooded high grounds in the middle of the property. It is a 5 and 10-minute rugged hike in to the middle ground respectively. The trail remains under development, so please bring close-toed shoes or boots for hiking throughout the property (depending on rainfall, there may be mud and water).
We have two primitive campsites These campsites are first come first serve, they are not assigned when booking.
Our Glamper tent is a 10x12 canvas furnished full size bed with bedding, pillows and enough floor space for two sleeping bags.
The tents are located off a short trial, but rugged 2-minute hike from the parking area. We provide the opportunity to go camping without having to pack the tent.
Closed toed shoes are highly suggested as well as plenty of lighting with batteries or solar charging capability. This is a rugged, fun and serene camping experience.

We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats:
Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail.
A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach.
Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that.
Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people.

The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use.
During the summer, there are fireworks every Wednesday night that are viewable from this spot.

Their house, The Cracker Shack, is 100 plus years old and is the second generation home of the Gainer family who settled the Econfina area in the 1820's. We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats:
Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail.
A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach.
Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that.
Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people.

The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use.
During the summer, there are fireworks every Wednesday night that are viewable from this spot.
The site comes with water/sewer and 30 Amp hookup. The sight can accommodate up to 43' for trailer and vehicle.

Set up was a breeze on arrival. Jay met me and showed me my boondocking site - flat and plenty of room to pull in and circle around for my 26' TT. Keyed and gated entry was nice. Each day I heard the neighbor's rooster and a braying donkey - far enough away to be unobtrusive and near enough to be enjoyed. Other campers down the road were either tent campers or RVs enjoying full hookups. Met some nice folks!
Only had 2 other boondocking neighbors during my 7 night stay. Jay and Suzette were lovely and welcoming. Enjoyed evening conversation while the guys played horseshoes. The laundry/shower/toilet rooms were clean and well kept. Laundry rate was very reasonable. I enjoyed my time there so much I extended my stay a few more days.
You might want to bring your own fresh water as the water hose by the tank dump is not technically potable due to its location.

We booked with Jay and Suzette and we were very surprised Bathroom, shower, laundry, little treats, and lovely trails around the property to take a walk or jog. The tent and RV-hook-up sites are scattered about giving alot of space and privacy . They were lovely hosts as well.

What an amazing site. It is right on the side of the road on the cape but since it is on a cape there is almost no traffic at all after the early evening. And the walk to the beach was a single block on a private drive. Having the water, electrical and sewer hookups made it so easy to spend the week on this awesome site.

Had private creek access from our campsite with a couple of steep steps down & used a rope to pull ourselves back up. This place was adorable & very well maintained. The camper was so cute! Perfect for me :) it was chilly the night I stayed and I stayed nice and cozy all night. The trees on the property are amazing all in themselves! But the hosts are just as great… I noticed at night, when you walk out of the bathroom you can see the stars peeking through the trees and moss, so don’t forget to look up! The bathrooms and shower house were top notch. I would love to stay again if I am ever in the area.

Angie's place was convenient to Pensacola and easy to find with the GPS. Its a back-in site with the option to go through a gate into the backyard. Angie was helpful and an excellent communicator - and has lots of bird feeders in the front yard. Highly recommended.

Everything was set up great! The spots were easy to identify and the directions for getting there helped greatly.
Tent site 8 was fantastic. There was a wheel barrel provided that came in handy for getting the cooler there. The common kitchen area saved the night for cooking dinner one day that I struggled with a fire. Cleaning up dishes there was very convenient. The bathrooms were clean and fantastic.
The location on cold water creek was my favorite part about this place. There's a couple beautiful sandbars to relax on the creeks edge.
Overall, a wonderful, peaceful, and well equipped campground for a trip outdoors.

Weekend Trip to Bay Forest Retreat
This was our second time at the Glamper 2 and it was fantastic, once again! My daughter loves this set up and loves the surroundings. The provided kayaks where the highlight of the trip for her this time around. Very quiet and secluded, it’s far enough removed that it’s peaceful but close enough to the main roads should you need some. We will definitely be returning again.
