(yes you read that right!) and a Clubhouse with couches, games and all! We have a few rentals (a cabin and RV) and we are working on getting more. We do have wifi on the property, and we also offer golf cart rentals.
If you have horses, you'll love coming to Black Horse. We are surrounded by countless trails through the forest with the trail heads sitting right on property, two barns for horses, many outdoor stalls and paddocks, wash racks, and an extra large riding arena.
There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village. We are 1 hour from Daytona & New Smyrna, 1 hour from Orlando (Disney anyone?).
There is plenty to do on the ranch and nearby the ranch. You will have a blast. We'll see you by the campfire!

There are 5 restaurants on the water that are a short ride bicycle, golf cart or 1 wheel ride away. One is a Hooters. Within 2 blocks is a Dunkin Donuts, Culvers and Hardees. We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!). If you don't have your own RV, you can rent one from Ray Day's RV Rentals (229-515-7008), which is literally around the corner.

Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay on this beautiful property. Rob and Mike were wonderful hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. We loved how much space we had in between sites to give plenty of privacy and loved that the animals were out and about during the day free to roam the land. By far our favorite hipcamp stay yet!

Magical, serene, nature setting. This was such a special place…you want to protect it from change. We could have stayed here for days kayaking and relaxing on the dock. Fish doing acrobatics at dawn and sunset, kept us mesmerized. Many thanks to our hosts for sharing their paradise.

Mike and Rob were excellent hosts! We didn't realize it would be so chilly at night, I brought no blankets. When Mike questioned my son about the evening, he was less than enthusiastic. He only had a towel for a blanket. Mike loaned us two sleeping bags!!
The baby goats were adorable. The young ones silly. Beware that one guy, you stop petting, he'll start tugging your shorts down!
Although, one word of warning, don't feed the free roaming donkeys at your site. And Stormy likes to redecorate.
The trails were nice, particularly one which was a shady oasis in late afternoon.
We had a great time! I highly recommend!

This spot is a little slice of heaven for those who dream of a view of pastures and horses. I would love to one day own a few acres and horse. Spotted Dance gives you a chance to observe from a distance , or if you are curious enough to inquire, John might give you an oppotunity to experiece owning these majestic animals. I got a chace to participate infeeding horses, cleaning stalls, and getting close to these beautiful creatures. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing! The best place to come reset and relax. We took carrots up to the fence and the donkeys and cows just came right to us. The animals are friendly and the people are friendly and beyond accommodating. Cindy let us take her golf cart on a ride around the property. Best place I’ve stayed so far absolutely recommend and we will be back.

My first experience at Bare RV Resort was fantastic. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from my first clothing-optional resort, but I immediately felt welcome, safe, and comfortable. What stood out most was the warm, respectful, and judgment-free atmosphere — it made for such a positive introduction to this kind of space. I visited with my friend, and we ended up making new friends during my stay, which made it even more special. The pool and hot tub were a highlight, and the whole resort felt cozy and inviting. It strikes a great balance of social and relaxed, and the location near other resorts in the area is a bonus. A wonderful first experience, and we will gladly return.

I just want to share some photos of this amazing campsite. From the moment you drive in you know you’re in a special place. Our hosts were awesome and we plan to come back again. The horses visited the first morning and were so sweet. They have thought of everything to make your stay amazing from clean tent site to spotless bathroom and showers. Wow and we were also treated with seeing day old baby goats. If you get the chance to visit it’s a MUST.

My 3rd trip here and somehow every trip is even better than the last. This trip included goats being born the day after the farm tour and a special trip to love up to the newborn kids. I will be coming back annually and enjoying not only the AMAZING hospitality, but also the wonderfully spacious sites and impeccably clean facilities.

We had the BEST time at Lucky U Ranch! From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a peaceful little escape. The property is absolutely beautiful—huge trees, open space, and nature everywhere you look.
What really made it special was how interactive and relaxed everything is. The horses, donkeys, goats, and even a pig were just wandering around, which made the whole experience feel so natural and fun. Being able to get up close, feed them, and just enjoy their presence was something you don’t get everywhere.
Our camp hosts, Rob and Mike, were amazing—super friendly, welcoming, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and the guests.
Whether you want to relax, explore, or just enjoy a unique experience with animals, this place is definitely worth it. We’ll absolutely be back!

We loved our time at the Hippie Mermaid. The hosts were super responsive and the site was perfect. Our son loved the kayaks and having the docks to fish from. Very close (maybe 10 minute drive) to Weeki Wachee. We'd definitely return.
