31mi from Chiefland · 7 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging · Fort White, FL
The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

4. Turkey Hollow Farm

31mi from Chiefland · 6 sites · Tents, RVs · Morriston, FL
Turkey Hollow is a 10-acre farm with pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats, and a sheep who thinks she’s a dog. (All roam the property except the pigs.) All of our critters are rescues and orphans whose original owners could no longer care for them. We’ve worked hard to give them a happy place to live and play. Come join us on a “critter crawl,” where we take the goats, dogs, and sheep for a walk on the trails and feed them their favorite treats. Explore numerous trails winding through our pines and oak trees—perfect for a hayride or a relaxing walk. Gather around the fire pit, with on-site wood available for guests. Play a round of horseshoes or checkers, or simply lounge in one of our hammocks. Kids will love the play zone, complete with a small zip line, tree fort, slide, log cabin, and teepee. Turkey Hollow is also a geographical fun zone: Rainbow Springs State Park is just 15 minutes south of the farm. Two popular cave-diving spots and the World Equestrian Center are both about 12 miles away in Williston, Florida. If you’re craving the coast, Cedar Key and its beaches are only 45 minutes west. Come relax and recharge—arrive as guests and leave as friends. Corey & Peggy Bryan (with Duke & Daisy)

Monarch Manor Farm is not a stack and pack camper on top of camper place. It is a private organic farm owned by a Homeopathic / Naturopathic doctor and biochemist who is a nature lover, lives there and enjoys sharing the peace and tranquility with others. Pets, kids and even grandparents are welcome. The property has 40 fenced acres, private, secure and a safe place campers can enjoy. RV's, Campers, Tents, Class A, B, C, Campervans, Class B Plus, Super C, fifth wheelers, Toy haulers, Travel trailers, pop-up campers and conversions, welcomed. Although the property can accommodate more than 50 sites, Rick keeps it at only 3 spacious sites around his organic spring fed pond stocked with Tilapia, Largemouth bass, Red ear and Bluegill. Those who enjoy catch and release or catch and eat are welcome. There is also an abundance of blackberries and elderberries you are welcomed to pick which usually begins mid May. Guests can also enjoy many different types of wildlife, birds, chickens and even Black Angus cows meandering around. Monarch Manor Farm is also an official Monarch Butterfly weigh station and safe respite for migrating butterflies. These beautiful pollinators have been on Earth about 175 million years from what we can gather from fossils. Beyond the splendor that would be lost from the world if monarch butterflies went extinct, there would be ripple effects in the environment.  Monarchs share their habitat with many other species of insects and birds. The birds would lose a food source, and their decline is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” for other pollinators. If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. This year (2024) we hope to finally get the Monarch Butterfly put on the endangered species list and see them rebound in numbers. So when you stay here you are also making a contribution that provides a safe chemical free environment for these super pollinators to multiply once again. All three sites are right around the pond with great views. A combination of large live oaks, shade and sun All sites also have a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Site 1 has your choice of 110 and 30amp power. There is no power at site 2, 2A or 3. The bath house is equipped with 2 showers. One shower is heated by geothermal means and the other by a tankless hot water heater for evening showers. There is a foot pedal hand sink, portable-potty, and seating. All water is filtered and drinkable. There is a fish cleaning station equipped with a garden hose. Only 22 minutes from either Ocala, Fl or Gainesville, Fl. and 5min from Hwy. 75 We look forward to hosting you, your family and friends. We also offer booking larger groups of any size or all three all three sites at once. Bring your yoga, breathing, drum circle retreat or any other event you may have and we will make it happen for you. The only rules here are Peace, kindness, safety and security. Parking is only available at the bottom of the driveway for tent campers. All tent sites are less than a 5 minute hike up the trails. There is plenty of firewood available after 3 hurricanes in a year's time. The Bird Ranch is 4 acres of peaceful nature. We have 3 pioneer sites (2 with fire pits), and one RV hook-up (30 Amp power and water) to choose from. We never really know what wildlife is wondering around or when they might pop up. Rest assure though; there are always birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, owls hooting, and we can even hear the neighboring pigs, chickens, cows, goats and dogs from time to time. I will take all that over city noise any day of the week! The Gofer Turtles are protected wildlife here, but please do not disturb ANY of the animals or their homes. We have had kids destroy a turtle's home before, so please be mindful. The property has trails, an open field for games, and plenty of day outings to do. There are 2 natural springs (Royal Springs and Little River Springs) off the Suwannee River that are each a 10-minute drive. Branford Springs and Troy Springs are within 20 minutes. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube (seasonal), catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride on the Suwannee River Greenway. The Mystic Jungle Educational Facility is a quick 15 minutes up Hwy 129 towards Live Oak, where you can learn about their wild animals on a guided tour, but they are only open on Saturdays. Cedar Key is a quiet little town 1.5 hours away with cute shops and restaurants for a nice day trip ***(also very messed up from hurricanes last year, so no promises)***. They roll up the streets after sunset; but what a beautiful sunset! There are also a few horseback riding ranches within 20 minutes from the property and if you're really adventurous and want to ride a camel; Lonesome Chicken Camel Ranch is less than an hour away. Call ahead to make sure they are open. Please be courteous of your fellow campers and my neighbors, by adhering to a 10 pm noise maintenance.

Caceres Organic Blueberry & Turmeric Farms is nestled in the heart of the Suwannee River Water Basin, home to some some of the most beautiful freshwater springs in the world. We have been a WWOOF host since 2011. Over 500 organic volunteers from around the world have lived and worked at the farm so we are used to creating an atmosphere of community and sustainable living.  We have cleared tent camping lots for Hip Campers in front of the on-property lake with easy access to swimming and fishing. There are two solar shower stalls with hot water powered by the sun. It is specifically built to overlook the main blueberry field and peach grove. Stunning views at sunset. An outhouse / composting toilet is currently under construction with the rain water collection system now complete. In the meantime a portable toilet is provided.  A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. There is also a boat launch on the Suwannee River just minutes from the farm for boating, skiing and fishing. Bob's River Place is minutes away. The Gulf of Mexico is just 40 miles away. Scalloping season begins June 15 this year and runs to September. Oyster season lasts all winter. The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is 50 miles away and hosts several large music festivals from Spring to Fall including Hullaween on October 23-25.Learn more about this land:Caceres Organic Blueberry & Turmeric Farms is nestled in the heart of the Suwannee River Water Basin, home to some some of the most beautiful freshwater springs in the world. See you soon nature is calling you for a much needed destressing vacation.
