This location is close to the head springs and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park where you can discover the wild side of Florida with endangered Florida panther, red wolf, manatee and whooping crane, plus black bear, bobcat and, of course, alligator.
The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. This listing is for the SITE ONLY. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. This location is close to the head springs and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park where you can discover the wild side of Florida with endangered Florida panther, red wolf, manatee and whooping crane, plus black bear, bobcat and, of course, alligator.
The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. This is a residential area and is very quiet. You can see the layout of the property in the photos from an aerial view as well as other photos of the setup.
This listing is for the SITE ONLY. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. We provide full hookups (water, sewer, 50amp electric) for your RV as well as WIFI service and access to the docks for your boat or swimming. We have kayaks and paddleboards INCLUDED with our site or bring your own to paddle the springs and take a chance at seeing a manatee up close and personal or catching some fish. Launch your boat at a nearby public ramp and dock it in the water at our property. Keep the trailer in the driveway. Kayaks are available at no extra charge and can be launched from our property. Fish from the dock for sheepshead, mullet, mangrove snapper, and blue crab. On occasion you will see dolphins and manatees in our canal. Fishing and kayaking in the Homosassa Bay is great all year long. Your space is limited to parking area, dock front, and seating area under our stilt home. Our stay at Frank’s campground was great! Check in was easy and the ground was level for setting up our tent. After we settled in, he came around to make sure we were all set for the night! We had to leave early in the morning for an activity we had booked and check out was easy.

Great Setting, Full Hookup, Beautiful Dock Area. Host sent very detailed message about the location, rules, & amenities they provided which were greatly appreciated. Location is close to activities & restaurants in Homosassa Springs. Lots of nice details set up at the site like the picnic table, fire pit, lighting, seating on the deck, etc. that made it a very nice stay. Weather got very cold so we were not able to enjoy the dock as much as we would have.

We had a great stay at Frank’s hipcamp. We only stayed overnight on our way south but would have loved to stay longer. The land is beautiful surrounded by forest. Frank was so helpful. We arrived late due to a tire blowout and he drove over to give us extra light. Hookups are new and perfect. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay again.

Lynn’s land was perfect for our week long stay to visit family in Gainesville. The property was so quiet and peaceful. It was far enough from the city that we could see so many stars at night but close enough that it was just a 15-20 minute commute in and out of town. Lynn and David were also incredibly nice when we crossed paths. We will definitely be returning here for our next Gainesville visit. 10/10 would recommend!

It was definitely primitive but the motion lights, fire ring, and grill made things easy. We absolutely love it out there. Sound of fish splashing, birds swooping from trees hitting the water or land and coming up with fish and other prey, and the cool breeze is all we heard and loved it. We will definitely have a boat next time as kayaking in and out to go places was more workout than we anticipated. 10/10, will be back!

10/10 experience! My husband and I got married on Friday and headed straight to John’s campsite that very night - it was the perfect way to begin our new chapter together. We’re so grateful and appreciative to have spent such a special weekend in such a beautiful place. The campsite is wonderfully remote, private, and peaceful, making the entire experience truly exceptional.
