Tent camping here was beautiful. The trees are beautiful pines which the owner took the care to save when the property was being built. The trees are very thankful for this energy and in kind or protecting the land. As a woman sleeping alone, I felt completely safe in my tent and this beautiful yard looking at the water. The hosts are so kind hearted. This is really a good place For spending time with nature while still in a city’s drive

Every was great!!! 2nd time staying here with Christine and Cal….. very laid back atmosphere beautifully maintained property, hot shower and miniature horses.. this past trip. I had a hawk that pretty much stayed above the tree above my tent and just sat there chilling out looking at me.

2 nights at South Florida Permaculture Farm

It is like a little Eden in the midst of the city! We were amazed by the dense native plant diversity, small pond, ducks & chickens, all in these 5 acres! Plus all of the things that the owners have been planting. It is rustic & primitive. We parked and then walked a path like a 10th of a mile to the owners house and then he guided us to the site. Glad we had our headlamps ready in the dark! I purchased a bundle of firewood on the app, but then needed to follow the owner around to get a wheelbarrow, load it up with wood that would need to be cut in half. He provided a handsaw. It’s do it yourself that way! George was very accommodating. I was impressed that he was up walking around with us at 10 at night. He loves to talk about all of the things that he’s planted and the way he has worked to leave it in the natural state. He is another breed, a rare naturalist and we need more like him. I slept great, but a drawback for my buddies was the sound of a nearby highway. I appreciated all the sounds of critters and birds surrounding us.

Wow, what a find so close to Miami centre. I wish we'd stayed longer (arrived evening time and left really early in the morning as had to return RV). John was so friendly. Our little boy absolutely loved the lake, he was out on the canoe within minutes. Directions were spot on. Would definitely recommend.

John's land was amazing! Such a chill spot for some quiet camping near some water, as long as you don't mind chickens and roosters and the occasional cockadoodledoo every so often. Would definitely reccomend coming back here eventually!

1 night at Honeys Place: Urban Camping Oasis

This was my second time staying at Honey’s place and i need to emphasize that is an urban oasis. Driving there you go through the hustle and bustle of the city but once you arrive all of that quiets down and time slows down. The grounds are kept impeccably, the grass is green, the trees are lush and the lake is tranquil. Went to clear my mind and celebrate my dog’s birthday and came back refreshed and ready to take on life again. Thank you John for having us and being such a great host, definitely will be coming back again.

Molly's Farm was a great spot for our weekend getaway with our 3 pups! John and his dog Molly greeted us when we arrived and helped us get situated. The property is beautiful and the spot feels private. Molly is super friendly, unfortunately our pups are not dog friendly, so they were kind enough to notice when we were out and kept Molly inside. We definitely recommend Molly's Farm!!

We had the most amazing experience despite a thunderstorm that roll through. It was fun to watch the storm from our tent and wake up to amazing tropical view, and a super fun outdoor shower. The miniature ponies were just an added, we will return!

Weekend Trip to Taste of Old Florida

I loved camping at Christine & Cal’s property. It was just a quick overnight stop. I was the only one there for most of the time. The shower was a welcomed treat after tent set up. The little horses are so cute and very friendly. I was able to put my ice pack in the freezer. My back was very thankful for that. You can hear some road noise as some others noted. It was just kind of in the back ground. I’m used to hearing sirens, trains and cruise ship horns so it was not an issue for me. I was looking forward to seeing the stars but it was very cloudy. I’ll definitely be returning.

We went to our first camping site and it was an incredible experience. The noise from the highway is much less than the reviews say, it's super peaceful and our 2-year-old daughter really enjoyed it. The platforms for the tents help a lot. We loved and will definitely be back

A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want than this may not be your kind of place.

We’re just 5 miles from downtown Stuart on the Inland waterway that offers a lovely walkable downtown where you will find a theater, unique art studios, interesting and unique craft and clothing shops, and numerous restaurants offering everything from vegan and vegetarian options, to pizza, steak, and local seafood. If you’re looking for fast food franchises in the downtown areas, you’ll need to look elsewhere! Only 11 miles from Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Daily excursions are available from the launch site to the infamousTrapper Nelson’s hideaway. A must do for adventurous types who appreciate legends and creative off grid living. ABOUT US: This Camp Site is on a 1/2 acre, owner occupied property and located in a beautiful, open, quiet neighborhood setting. It offers a natural walking path with several foot bridges around the lake. Our property has very easy accessibility to all major roads including interstate 95. Our camp sites provide a peaceful stay while still being close to all you seek. This location makes for a great stop over or destination spot. Guests will wake in the morning to the lovely site and peaceful sounds of the mostly year round residents including pileated and red-bellied woodpeckers, vultures, raccoons, egrets, ibis, hawks, quaker parrots, herons, bluejays, grackles, crows, lizards, mourning doves, gray squirrels, owls, hawks, and occasional sightings of iguanas and turtles. Nights tend to be dark and quiet with minimal traffic noise. We are pet friendly provided your pet is too! Again, this is in a quiet, neighborhood type setting, just a bit off the beaten path.
