The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay. Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites. Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. If you like privacy, you will be happy to know that we have very few designated RV and glamping sites. The property sits at the end of a private road in a quiet country-like setting with mature oak trees decorated with Spanish moss. The current inhabitants of our farm include our three mini-cows, Stormy, Lila, and Boots, two donkeys, Pancho, a standard, and Cindy Lou, a mini. Here's why: We are an hour away from Disney World, Downtown Tampa, the downtown St. Petersburg and Clearwater beach. Most of Tampa Bay suburban areas are also under an hour away. We are also a little over an hour away from some of the most breathtaking springs in Florida. Alderman's Ford, a Hillsborough County conservation park with over seven miles of hiking trails, is within walking or biking distance. The park's most famous attraction is a 1.9-mile paved and one of the state's most popular canoe spots. The loop, which is hiker, dog-walker, and bicycle-friendly, links with a boardwalk and footbridges leading into shaded woods of gigantic cypress and oak trees. There is also a designated horse trail. About 10 minutes down the road, the Alafaia River State Park offers some of the most radical elevation changes in the state. This topography is uncommon for most of Florida, making the park a hot spot for mountain bikers, equestrians, and hikers. The hilly trails at Alafaia River total about 20 miles and run through forests, flatwoods, and lakes. Weekend Trip to Rasayana Cove

Rasayana Cove was an amazing experience. The scenery is magnificent! It’s the perfect getaway for comfortable camping. The cabin is rustic but comfortable with all the necessary amenities. We were immersed in nature in the best way. Dennis was a wonderful host, I give this place an 11/10.

Very nice campsite with full hookups. The campsite is very much out in the country, secluded/private, down a dirt road etc. Our dogs could run free and play until exhausted. We need a place to stay during some home renovations, and this campsite fit the bill beyond expectations. It’s very close to all the modern suburban amenities we’re all used too, but neatly tucked away in the country for a truly great camping experience. Loved it and would do it again.

Weekend Trip to Wilderness Shores Ranch Campground!

This place is absolutely fantastic. The campsites are so well maintained, the scenery is incredible & Paul is the best (make sure you get to hear one of his jokes after you check in). There are beautiful longhorns roaming around the campsites and goats in a pen you can go feed. Oh and the bathrooms? Impeccable. So clean and very nice. Truly cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back!!!

The property was beautiful and it was pleasant and clean. Very clean. Very natural environment. Lovely solar showers. Amazing fresh well water. I mean pure. There's a charging station for your phones. There's plenty of things to look at. There's the labyrinth that's made up really nice. A really great place to meditate and relax. The serenity and peace of the land are addictive

Excellent hosts and everything was clean and neat. As others have mentioned there was traffic noise since, but for urban camping it was really great to also be close to nature on the other side - heard owls and enjoyed campfires both nights.

We have been there on three separate occasions. Each has been a very pleasant and relaxing experience. We like to Boondock, and if we need air conditioning, we run our generators, but the property is ideal for enjoying nature, long walks, fishing, enjoying the plants, the wildlife, including the two little black pigs that run around lol ….the site is close to everything if you have to leave to go get supplies and come back it’s very easy and convenient to do so Mike is great and has always treated us very well. We look forward to our next visit.

Weekend Trip to By the Pond...

Lots of open flat land to choose from by the pond. Fruit trees cover the area, local bees making honey. We enjoyed seeing the pigs, chickens and giny hens. It was a nice relaxed 2 nights. For those that may under pack, or forget stuff, this farm is minutes from the loud world.

We spend an amazing weekend in the small cabin. It is surrounded by such beautiful scenery and spent our time exploring the wilderness. It felt like the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with nature. It truly is a special place and would recommend to friends and family. We will definitely be back. Our host Dennis was very kind and made us feel like we were at home. Great vibes all around.

We used our tent as a visual block to create some privacy between us and the RV site next door (even though there wasn't anyone there)

This spot is convenient to town but also has a remote feel. Very nice bathroom and shower facilities. Laura and J.R. were very friendly, communicative and accommodating. Very pretty setting! I highly recommend and will be back if possible!
