Beautiful woods, so quiet, private and immaculately clean! This was a lovely one night stop for us on our way back from a competition in RI. FYI: the road in is quite narrow and my GPS took my 1/4 mi past the drive to a gated dead end. Thank heavens my trailer is small and I can do a 3 point turn! There is a sign on a tree next to the entry but sign is small and same color as the tree. My eyes are old. Lol. Other than that it was gorgeous!

Had a phenomenal time staying here. It was an excellent first Hipcamp experience. The place had everything we needed from a flat tent spot to clean bathrooms and firewood. We especially loved bringing some wine back to our tent from the winery. Just be sure to come early enough to get a tasting! The host was very accommodating and helpful during our stay

Weekend Trip to Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'

Evan and Laura's site was perfect. Everything you need is provided, both were very responsive to any questions we had, the bathroom and shower were way better than what we're used to at campsites and they offered suggestions for local hikes and a great butcher shop. The goats are pretty darn cute too. Highly recommend this site!

I would 100% recommend camping on Mikes land. Mike is friendly, helpful, and very responsive. From the moment we got there we felt that he was as invested in our experience as we were. He even lent us his fishing hooks, said we could use his swimming hole, shared his wild mushrooms, and lent us his mini wagons to help us carry stuff up the hill. the site is beautiful and very private. You do here the cars from the road. We didn't mind, but if it would bother you, then you should probably book Mikes other camp site thats farther up. Very close to local hikes and fishing opportunities. Had the best time! we will be back!

Had a great stay here! Camped in my car for the night with a beautiful view of the woods nice and quiet place! Had a little fire and listened to the mourning doves! My significant other and I stayed here for a night! It was super secluded and quiet, which was wonderful! We are roadtripping with our travel trailer to Maine, and it made for a perfect over night! The sight was clean well taken care of! It also had plenty of space to maneuver around!

Our stay at site #1 in our teardrop camper was seamless. The site is perfectly flat and the power source very convenient. Eric greeted us on arrival, and then we enjoyed a very nice walk on the trail behind the barn. Friendly horses, beautiful setting, everything well marked - these folks know hospitality!

Very nice property, each site is very private. Be ready to walk your things to the site. Dom has wheelbarrows to help move things which is great. Great experience, the firewood is a nice big bundle. We loved the animals on the farm too. No tables at the sites but there are some nice stumps you can easily use as a table. Thanks Dom

Weekend Trip to Destination Farnch

We had an amazing time at Mike’s camp, even when it rained one night! There was plenty of firewood available, and the space was vast enough to accommodate a large group. We were upgraded to Phoenix Landing, which is more secluded and away from road noise—definitely a great spot for a peaceful getaway. We visited at the end of winter and could already tell that the area would be lush and beautiful in the summer. There’s a nice walking path on the property, perfect for a leisurely stroll. While there is a bathroom and shower on-site, we didn’t use them since we were only there for two nights and brought our own setup. The campsite was clean and well-maintained, and the land at Phoenix Landing was leveled, making our tent setup super even and comfortable for sleeping. There’s also a platform available, but we opted for a more primitive camping experience. We met Mike at the mushroom factory, and he was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and polite. Checking in and out was a breeze, and whenever we needed to communicate, he was always available and responsive. Overall, we had an awesome experience and would highly recommend this spot!

The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. Moon In The Pond Farm

Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a little bit of heaven. There are six separate sites to choose from. All are in separate, different locations around the farm, so you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be sharing a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. There's the BellTent--a bit of "glamping". And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are located in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, three others are under the trees on the edges of different farm fields, one is a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. Wanna hike? We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy preserved land. Learn more about this land: A very spacious semi-wooded site that is in the shape of a triangle. The dimensions are approximately 100' by 100' by 50'. Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather. Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound. Plenty of privacy with screens around the site. Within 15-20 minutes of our site is just about anything you could desire. Local restaurants, hiking, fishing, shopping, drive in movie and much much more. Rainy days no problem explore one of our nations pieces of history, Vanderbilt mansion, Theodore Roosevelt home, Montgomery Place Mansion, Poets walk, Ferncliff forest, or Art Omi.
