Awesome place at the end of a fairly rough dirt road. Original lodge with pool table. Dark sky, lots of stars. Definitely going back. Probably stay in in one of the tent “cabins” facing the pond with showers!

They have everything! A peaceful setting in a space shared with two other trailers (vintage, that they rent to glampers) nice outdoor green spaces to enjoy with picnic tables, hammocks and outdoor cooking area. Then they also have indoor space: two flush toilets, shower, dinning table and chairs, microwave and large screen TV. Two nice silly dogs in residence and two very nice, thoughtful, kind and welcoming hosts in Greg and Olivia. We stayed twice this summer and will surely be back when we return to the area. Only negatives: no sewer hookup for our camper (not a huge deal with flush toilet and sinks mere steps away in the flex room described above) Also the space was a challenge for me to pull out of due to tight turns around some fencing. Since I was nervous about taking out these lovely host’s fence with our 21 ft. Travel trailer, Greg very kindly backed out for us to save me the stress. While the location is excellent and the property lovely and well cared for, it is sometimes a little loud as it is across the street from Niwot high school football and sports fields. Some mornings and Friday nights the practices and games were quite easily heard from their tranquil backyard space. But that was a small trade off for a place that was very peaceful most of the rest of the time.

Well run commercial campground between Loveland & RMNP. Ours & most sites by us had just 50A & 20A electric. We were promised a 30A site so they lent us a converter (great staff esp maintenance guy). Water was great but pressure varied, next time we'll use their water to fill our tank then use our pump for consistent pressure. Sites were a little small but our 30' trailer fit easily. Some sites had big class A's & 5th wheels w/6 slide outs. Staff spread out campers so our neighboring sites were vacant half the week we were there. Beautiful perimeter trail along the river & nice dog park. Very quiet & friendly place, ~20 minutes to a Safeway in Loveland but still has that out-in-the-woods feel. 45 minutes to Estes Park & a bit under an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park. Lots of cabins & RV parks in this area but this one is back in the woods so no noise from US34.

A-Lodge Boulder is a quaint delight! After a long day of driving it felt great to set on their patio and enjoy the music and refreshing drink. Perfect place to hit some gravel and hiking trails.

Riverview RV Park had easy accessibility to Rocky Mountain National Park and any service needed was within 7 miles. It was far enough from Loveland, CO to be away from the congestion. It was a very pleasant place to stay.

The A-Lodge is very nice, even if bathroom facilities for van/tent spots are not a lot (two restroom, one with the shower, and a common shower for men).
The location is beautiful, in the woods but ten minutes drive from Boulder downtown.

We spent three nights at Riverview RV Park and Campground and found the accommodations to be just fine. We had a small snafu regarding power (thought we were getting 30A, but the pedestals were 50A or 20A only), but the camp store loaned us a dogbone adapter so we could fully power our coach.
The entrance to the campground is IMMEDIATELY off the highway, which is convenient ... but be aware this is one of the main highways to Estes Park and there WILL be traffic noise. The entrance is also on a bend, so pull out onto the highway decisions will need to made quickly!
Our full hookup site backed up to the Big Thompson River, which was a lovely mountain stream. The site was reasonably level, and there are restroom and shower facilities available to campers. There is also a surprisingly well stocked store located on the grounds, which services travelers and a number of full-time and/or full-season residents who you will share the campground with.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Riverview and would recommend it. It's convenient location - halfway between Loveland, CO and Estes Park / Rocky Mountain National Park - made it a great choice for us as we like to dump our coach and go exploring from there. And there are PLENTY of places to explore from this location.

Olivia and Greg were amazing hosts. Very responsive and helpful while checking in. They have a quiet oasis just outside of Boulder. Clean bathroom adjacent to a flex space with sink and fresh water. I was able to use power to recharge the van’s power system. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Happy adventuring!!!

Beautiful setting on the Big Thompson River, sites are clean and shaded with fire rings, picnic tables, water and electric. Lovely maintained paths for dog walking.
Employees are friendly, helpful and professional.
Conveniently located near Estes Park and Horsetooth Reservoir.
Loved my stay here and plan to return whenever I’m in the area.

The facilities advertised were out of order the majority of the time. The staff lost my reservation and kept telling me that my spot was taken, so I had to just stay in a parking spot. Really disappointed.

The best luxury RV camping near Winter Park guide
Where to go
Winter Park Resort
Winter Park is made up of two interconnected ski mountains: Winter Park and Mary Jane. Both offer fantastic skiing in the winter and hiking and mountain biking in the summer. Camping is limited in town to a few private spots but there are several National Forest campgrounds just outside of the town including the Robbers Roost and Idlewild Campground.
Granby
This small mountain town is only 25 minutes from Granby. It’s a bit quieter than nearby Winter Park and Grand Lake, and it offers a ton more camping options. Lake Granby has several campgrounds spread out across its shores and even more options in the neighboring Arapaho National Forest.
Grand Lake
Located about a 45-minute drive north of Winter Park, Grand Lake is a charming little mountain town at the doorsteps of Rocky Mountain National Park. The town’s namesake lake sits just a block beyond Main Street and offers all sorts of water sports fun. Kayak, paddleboard, and pontoon boat rentals are available at the lake. Campers will find a couple of RV parks in town and tent camping at the Sunset Point Campground.
Rocky Mountain National Park
The Grand Lake Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is only a 45-minute drive from Winter Park. The park features endless hiking trails, numerous alpine lakes and waterfalls, and one of the most scenic drives in the country, the Trail Ridge Road from Grand Lake to Estes Park. Campers will find several established campgrounds in the park and unlimited opportunities for backcountry camping. The Timber Creek Campground is the closest campground in the park to Winter Park.
When to go
Winter Park is a year-round outdoor sports destination. The best time to hike, bike, whitewater raft, and camp in Winter Park is June through September. Fall is a wonderful time to visit and colors typically peak around late September. Ski season typically kicks off around Thanksgiving and runs through mid-April. The Grand Lake Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park remains open through the winter but Trail Ridge Road typically closes for the season between mid-October and mid-November depending on early season snow.
Know before you go
- You can find plenty of gear shops, outdoor rentals, and specialty shops in Winter Park. Shops in Fraser, 10 minutes north of Winter Park, cater more to locals.
- The Robbers Roost and Idlewood campgrounds just outside Winter Park do not take reservations. Arrive early in the day for your best chance of scoring a spot.
- Summer festivals are a common occurrence in Winter Park. Check the resort calendar to see what events are happening during your visit
- Afternoon thunderstorms are common in Winter Park in July and August. Start hiking early in the morning.
