Mountain Road Disclosure: The Sheep Mountain property it’s located in a mountainous area. There are 7 miles of dirt and mountainous roads from the highway to the property. Although the dirt roads are maintained there may be grooves and ruts in some areas due to weather. Please be advise that trucks and four-wheel vehicles will have a much easier time navigating these roads. Other vehicles may need to slow down and take it easy through some potentially rough areas. The owner was amazingly accommodating and switched us to blueberry camp which was very accessible! We will definitely be making a tradition of returning to yakalo! Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive and get there while it’s light out, the drive is a bit scary when people are speeding down the mountain. She also has water filters to drink the fresh underground spring water! 10/10 camping experience

Angela responded quickly to our questions and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend this camp site. The site was a little slanted.

We brought out wolf pup 16bhsbl travel trailer out to camps the site is huge with plenty of space for 2-3 other families. The directions were easy to follow, however there was one sign that was missing as per the written instructions. One of our party members missed the gate because of the missing sign. The entrance to the camp sign was a little rutted out and you should feel comfortable off roading with a trailer.

This place was absolutely amazing! Josh was very accommodating with our last minute booking. The campsite was clean and the bell tent with 2 cots and a futon was super comfy! The propane fire pit, hammock, table with an umbrella and driving range were a lovely addition and the view was absolutely spectacular. Truly an A++ glamping experience! Highly recommended!!!

I took my grandson’s on their first camping trip this weekend. It’s an easy drive about 40 minutes from I25. Beautiful location with views of the mountains. We had fun exploring the rocky canyon a 1/4 mile from our site. Very quiet and beautiful location, highly recommended!

This property is a beautiful hidden gem with amazing night guys, absolute solitude and responsive host. The cabin was larger than I expected with 2 beds in the loft, 2 beds on the main floor and a couch in the living room next to the wood stove. The wood stove heats up fast and provides house of heat without needing to reload and the propane burners for Coleman stove are perfect for cooking. Just bring some battery powered string lights for lighting at night and a headlamp. There are good hiking options on the property and the adjacent BLM lands.

Joshua’s land was just what we were looking for. Extremely peaceful and a night sky that will blow your mind. We spent two nights here in our van and fell in love with the Spanish Peaks area. Do yourself a favor and pop over to Great Sand Dunes NP, about a 1.5 hour drive and worth every minute. Lots of cool old farming artifacts on the property too. Really enjoyed our stay, thanks Joshua!

We really enjoyed our time here! There are two separate areas at the site, each with a fire ring a spot for a tent. We fit our large 8-person tent on one side so we could use the other for food, fire, and sitting. Shade was great, and the spot was private. It unfortunately rained for most of the time, but we got to visit a cantina up the road to get out for a bit.

We absolutely loved this site. We had plenty of space, both inside the (incredibly weather-resistant) tent and throughout the site. While every know and then we would hear people at the other sites, we never saw them! Josh is super responsive and I'm grateful to have been able to explore his land a bit.
