1 night at High Balsam Farm

The property was put together with so much love and intention. It feels very secluded but is only a 5 min drive into near by restaurants if you don’t want to cook. Beth set up a heater and extra blankets for the cold rainy night I stayed. It was so cozy and welcoming. Will be back!

Beautiful glamp site! Will had just build a covering/roof for the deck "patio" which worked out perfectly because we got caught in a few thunderstorms. He was extremely accommodating- he brought in a little cot mattress for my toddler, had the kitchen stocked with everything we needed, and made sure to keep his dogs out of the area because our dog is reactive to other dogs. The land is beautiful and very private. We'll definitely be back 💖🏕️

We loved camping on Terri’s land. It was easy to get to and easy instructions. The site was very private with a great view. We really enjoyed the fire pit and being able to already have a table and chairs ready for us to use. The site was a little uneven making it a little hard to sleep, but I would still recommend camping here!

6 nights at High Balsam Farm

I stayed in the Red-Stripe Rhonda for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience! Beth and Rob extended the WiFi so that I was able to work remotely with no wifi issues near the camper, delivered ice packs daily for the cooler, and even gifted fresh spinach and herbs. They were fantastic hosts and living by the peaceful stream in the cozy camper made for a memorable stay. Highly recommend!

Ethan was AMAZING! So helpful and so easy to reach. Definitely made our stay more welcoming. If you need to know, bring a sleeping bag if you are by the river. It gets cold! But the views were beautiful , we were at peace with nature, awesome campsite for a group. Loved every minute of it even when it was freezing lol

Rob and Beth were excellent hosts. Ronda treated us well. It was the perfect spot close to a lot of points of interest. It was the perfect spot where you felt secluded enough while still being in close proximity to the city. If you’re into unique quirky stays and roughing it a bit, this is the perfect option. It also feels great to be supporting individuals like Beth and Rob who play a role in the community like they do with their sustainable farming practices.

This place isn’t just a resort—it’s a full-on historical hug wrapped in a flannel blanket. The main lodge creaks in all the right ways, like it’s whispering century-old secrets about log dances and ghosts. The owners are friendlier than a golden retriever at a barbecue, and they’ll happily tell you tales about Glen Isle’s past that make you wonder why you didn’t pay extra for the history degree. And the river nearby? It babbles better than your Aunt Karen on Thanksgiving. We weren’t as prepared for the cold as we thought and froze our butts off but that was our bad…. But we did ask about a fire pit, and it was delivered to our campsite! All around a wonderful stay and the beautiful lights by the River made it even more magical. We will definitely be back… but maybe with better sleeping bags this time 😅

It was a bit challenging to find the back road into the Glen Isle Resort but Mary Ruth guided us in and was awesome about making us feel comfortable. We had a perfect campsite all to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. In addition we felt that the resort and its legacy is worth preserving. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Glen Isle is located in Bailey, Colorado which is the perfect vacation spot for friends, family, reunions, or a private get away. Glen Isle was originally built for an escape from hectic Denver. Once you cross the bridge into the resort, you’ll understand why it has served as a peaceful getaway for over a century. The Platte River welcomes you and divides the property from Highway 285. If you love to fish, you have a mile of the river to use at your disposal. If hiking is your forte and you desire to explore nature, Glen Isle is surrounded by the National Forest, Lost Creek Wilderness, Payne Gulch Trailhead, the Colorado Trail and many private acres for you to explore. Mary Ruth grew up, married Greg, and they started bringing their five boys to Glen Isle Resort. Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

Back portion of the property is a wooded hiking trail for all guests to enjoy. It is located in the historic Ute Pass region. The property was once owned by Ute Indians who later sold it, at which time it became a Hippie camp and later a family home/ranch. We can’t wait to meet you and help you have the true Colorado experience. You will love the country feel while being walking distance to Woodland Park and have the amenities of 50 amp electric, WiFi, water (not for drinking), picnic table, chairs, mini grill, hammock, porta potty, gray water dump at site, propane fire pit (guests bring their own propane) and access to black water dump if needed. $15 black dump fee for bookings less than 1 week, otherwise 1 free black water dump per week. Pets must be on a leash at all times and pets and children are never to be left unattended for any period of time.

Rollinsville Adventure Camp is a 5 acre slice of the Rocky Mountains, perched at approximately 9,000 feet above sea level, in the shadow of the nearby Continental divide. The property features towering pine trees, beautiful aspens, and is surrounded by national forest on all sides. The campsites are all located within the safe confines of a gated, five foot fence that surrounds the property. The property once served as a Llama Ranch. We have repurposed the old llama loafing shed into a common area/ lounge area where any guests are welcome to make use of the space, which includes a 2 burner gas camp stove, a refrigerator, and a propane gas bbq grill. There is also a gas fire pit on the patio at the Llama Lounge for guests to enjoy, as well as a hammock, hanging hammock chair, and a picnic table for guests to utilize while enjoying the common space of the Llama Lounge.
