We live on 6.5 acres of stunning forested land located 1000 feet above downtown Boulder. Our property rests on a peninsula with views of the white-capped peaks to the west and the city lights to the east. The property feels far away from the bustle of city life, yet it is only an EIGHT-MINUTE drive to the heart of downtown Boulder's historic shopping district and ten minutes from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Vista Tranquila, the name given to our property by its previous owners, has trails to meander, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The communal food prep area has a gas grill, a table for food prep, and a seating area. We request that guests pack out all trash. Since we do not provide stoves, pans, utensils, or cleanup facilities, please bring paper towels to wipe off your stoves, pans, dishes, and utensils. A well-maintained portable flush toilet is provided in a tall tent near the main residence. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence. My Golden has an invisible fence and is not allowed to visit campers unless permitted. Fires are only permitted and shared on the back patio of my home. Activities for fun on site include corn hole, firepit on lower patio along with a propane weber grill. Only 2-3 mile from Frontier Park and an electric bike ride to downtown to tour the museums, restaurants and shops. Currently, new to hip camp and refurbishing the house and exterior so The Shed will be a working/congregating space with refrigerator/freezer, electric cooktop and indoor space with a fan so folks can escape their cars/vans. Wi-Fi is also available in the shed and the surrounding camp areas toward the building. This was my dream come true property and I'm looking forward to sharing it with road warriors like me. Weather is forever changing here and clouds roll by fast leaving the most fabulous rainbows. I just ask that no fires of any kind be set at your site because the field is a fire hazard in the dry plains.

I booked a tent site at A-Lodge and it exceeded every expectation. The property is tucked into a peaceful mountain pocket with just the right mix of wilderness and comfort. You get the feeling of camping in nature, but with clean facilities, hot showers, and a friendly staff that actually cares about your stay. The tent sites are spaced out perfectly—private enough to feel like you’re on your own adventure, but close enough to walk to amenities. Waking up to the sound of the creek and the cool morning air was the best way to start the day. Trails are right next to the lodge, so I was able to hike straight from my campsite without ever getting in my car. The staff deserves special mention. They were welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, and gave genuinely helpful tips for hikes, food, and local spots. The community vibe around the lodge, especially in the evening, made the experience even better—quiet when you want rest, relaxed when you feel social. If you’re looking for a tent camping spot that balances nature, comfort, and adventure, A-Lodge is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Weekend Trip to Hart Family Farm

We had such a wonderful greeting from Sara’s grazing sheep, her dog Yogi and her cat Salty. It took only minutes for my son to join her daughter on the family’s swing-set. We had intended to “glamp” somewhere close to Estes Park, and the Burro fit the bill! The tiny space heater made the camper cozy on the cold nights, and we had access to her walk-in basement restroom and shower (even if we opted not to shower because we like to “rough it” on camping trips). After a day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, my 8-year-old could not wait to “get back to the farm”, and spend time with all the animals. Sara’s daughter Rose even treated my son to a riding lesson on a pony for a very reasonable price. We also enjoyed the nearby creek just at the back of her property and an excellent recommendation to a nearby park. Additional perk is that my little loved to pet the animals in the morning while I was getting breakfast or dinner ready. Always something to do at this beautiful location!

We had a surprise snow and were still warm and cozy using the heater to start the night and the comfortable bed did the rest. And we woke up to the beautiful snow in the trees!
