The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019! These cabins are very different in their own ways, they run on solar, but we do have a back up generator for emergency use! All our cabins have electricity! Owner's personal residence, treat it nicely! The space Cozy and open floorplan is ideal for a couple or up to 4 people. The loft above has a deluxe king size bed facing East for glorious sunrises over the West Elk mountains. The other side of the loft has a trundle bed where the lower twin bed rolls out from underneath the upper twin bed. There is also a standing desk with a Dell docking station and large monitor in the loft. No audible privacy other than the bathroom; everything is open. Pellet stove for heat if needed and backup propane heaters on the main level. Nice live edge furniture throughout (coasters and placemats provided, please use them!) and cherry rocking chairs for watching whatever streaming services you have subscriptions to on the entertainment center. Solid wood deck furniture and BBQ. Occasionally ATVs will pass by, neighbors have an easement to the forest but they will not use my land except to cross it. Guest access You can access the entire 72 acres and all of the cabin except for a few secured closet/pantry areas for the owner/cleaning crew. The generator/solar system shed is also locked. Plenty of parking. AWD or 4WD is preferred but it is a gravel road. Welcome to bring ATVs, go hunt in the adjacent National Forest, bring horses and your own hay, etc. Other things to note You may need to run the generator a few hours per day which is as simple as turning a switch in the kitchen if it is cloudy. If the weather is nice then the solar system will generally take care of everything. AT&T works well here and wifi calling via starlink internet.

4 nights at Stay in Grace: Wine-Country Retreat
Grace is a sweet glamping option. The view from the breakfast table was lovely, the decor appealing and it was clean. It had everything we needed to make meals and wash dishes. The bed was comfortable. The furnace, electric stove and small heater for the bedroom made cool nights comfortable. Paonia is beautiful! The drive to Crested Butte from here is amazing!!! Karina was very communicative with clear instructions before our trip and was quick to respond to our requests. If you've never used a composting toilet before, it's an adjustment but it's a good option for glamping. The shower had hot water and enough pressure. I would stay here again.

All set up with linens, towels, soaps etc. clean and neat. Tiny kitchen. Don’t plan big dinners. There is a grill and propane. No inside table. Small sofa. Very nice loft sleeping area. Bed is very comfortable. Slept great! Bathroom is tiny but fine. No more than 2-3 people for sure. Campground is adorable! Looks like a Western town with all the different tiny homes. Nice outdoor fire pit for all to use. Definitely highly recommend.

Charming place with an incredible view of the mountains. A quick drive to town with the quiet feel of the country while you’re there. Luxurious, sweet space with everything you need! Kind host goes beyond if you have any needs. Highly recommended and great value :) The town of Paonia has great food, lots of cute shops and is filled with interesting, kind folks.

I absolutely loved my stay at “Grace”. The location is spectacular on top of a mesa. Everything was perfect. Karina has an eye for detail and I loved all the special touches. The camper offers a great “camping” experience with all the amenities one likes. Shower, kitchen, a beautiful view while having coffee. I cannot wait to return.

This was such a magical spot!! We stayed in the magic bus and everything was so clean and comfy! Laurie and Scott were so kind and welcoming. If you go you must meet the lovely family of goats who will make you smile so hard! Sage view ranch is truly something out of a story book. We most definitely will back.
