Featuring 20 acres of private land surrounded by National Forest, ample mountain views and wildlife, 3 ponds, and a trout stream, this 3-story creek-side cabin is the perfect place for you and your friends or loved ones to enjoy the CO backcountry, or to simply relax and recharge. ABOUT THE LOCATION: The Washington Gulch Getaway is your premier destination to enjoy a remote mountain retreat in the beautiful backcountry of Crested Butte, Colorado. Start your day watching the sun rise over Gothic Mountain before it slowly starts moving across a picturesque view of Whetstone. Enjoy the views from two decks and frequent visits from wildlife, including elk, deer, moose, bears, and beavers. Sit and sunbathe by the two small ponds, or grab your fishing rod and follow the creek down to the third pond with plenty of trout waiting to bite. Hand-built over decades by the legendary Phil P., this property invites you to take in the sights, sounds, and rich history of one of the oldest gold mining claims in Gunnison County. As you walk the grounds, you’ll discover hidden gems such as an old sluice box, an outhouse, and some of the original equipment used to create this one-of-a-kind oasis. You’ll also find countless trinkets, treasures, and antiques throughout the home. End your day watching the sunset over Anthracite Mesa, where an old coal mine once stood in the 1890's, as deer and other wildlife return almost every evening to graze and visit the ponds. Some might even get as close as the front door!ABOUT THE SPACE: The Washington Gulch Getaway is arranged to sleep up to 20 guests but county restrictions strictly limit us to a max occupancy of 6. Enter the property through the 4-car garage, then head upstairs to the main floor to find a kitchen and dining area, 2 living rooms, a half bathroom, wraparound deck, and king bedroom with a private deck. full bathroom, and twin trundle bed. Take the set of stairs up to find two bedrooms on opposite ends of the balcony. Both are identical in having a private full bathroom, queen over queen bunkbed, and 2 twin over twin bunkbeds. Please note guests will not have access to any top bunks, nor will any linens be provided for them. Sleeping arrangements per bedroom will only include 1 queen bed, and 2 twin beds, all bottom bunks. All amenities are provided, including: covered parking for up to 4 vehicles, Starlink WiFi, cooking oil and spices, coffee and filters, filtered water, toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, feminine hygiene products, bed sheets and towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, hand soap, and body lotion. GUEST ACCESS: Guest will have access to the entire property with the exception of the large storage barn (parking allowed for trailers and/or OHVs), outdoor sauna, a locked door in the garage clearly identified by a keypad, and a few closets clearly marked as "Staff Only" HOST INTERACTION: Your host will be available in the event of emergencies and will be onsite to document any instance of livestock within the fence line (when reported or seen on the exterior facing camera) before attempting to usher them out safely.
