We began this venture in 2012 by purchasing 35 acres overlooking a 7000 acre homestead. We are located on the beautiful eastern plains of Colorado southeast of Denver. Rolling hills dotted with Ponderosa pines that encourage wildlife to settle in. Pikes Peak, Longs Peak and Mount Evans all visible on clear days. We have 35 acres and raise alpaca’s, chickens, cats and dogs as well as a large garden. We are totally off grid and enjoy life in the home my husband built using trees he cut down and milled on his sawmill. We lived on the property in a 400sq ft cottage while building the house and this cottage is now available to rent. Water is available outside and the outhouse is just a few steps away. It comes equipped with a woodturning stove you can use to cook on.
We added the Bijou Tree House to our options a couple years ago! It is a one room cabin (sleeps 2) with an incredible picture window that frames Pikes Peak beautifully. It is nestle among some old Ponderosa Pines; sports a cute but tiny wood burning stove; bar table in front of the window; deck with seating and a propane camp chef 2 burner stove. A hammock is available for use and private outhouse just a few feet away. Across the gulley is the new Sawmill Cabin built under the canopy of Jim's sawmill. It is small, and can sleep 3 with a unique bunk over a queen sized platform bed. A small deck, fire pit all under a covered open space. More kids? Bring a tent! there’s room!
Numerous tent sites are available all within easy walking to your car. An outhouse is close by.
We love sharing our story and our home and the beautiful place God has gifted us with people from all over the world and hope to host you as well. Come Camp; and relax. Watch and listen to the birds, deer and antelope really do play here two little fawns were chasing each other through the gully just this morning. We are blessed beautiful sunrises and sunsets; stars at night and an added bonus is our Farm Store where we showcase products made from our alpaca's, and trees my husband has cut down... !

Dogs are welcome, however they must be dog friendly, trained and well behaved. They are free to roam but chasing calves and causing trouble with other animals will not be tolerated. We also have dogs, but will do our best to have them put up when you arrive with adequate communication about you ETA . No bathroom facilities at the moment. Also, no fires unless approved by us! When you arrive, we will happily check you in and direct you to your camp site. Please feel free to ask us about anything you may need, but we will not bother you otherwise! We hope to see you soon! Located 2.5 miles from the famous Paint Mines Interpretive Park and Trails and 4 miles from the El Paso County Fairgrounds that hold many events all summer long. The town of Calhan is just 4 miles north of this property. There, you will find the local grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, and dollar store for any of your needs. Enjoy seclusion and beautiful views of the rolling hillside and wildlife all while being sheltered amongst our mature trees. All of our campsites are tucked in the trees to give you privacy and shelter from the Colorado breeze. Bring your bikes and ride to the paint mines or explore the property on our trails and stay close. We have the best tasting well water so feel free to fill up your water jugs at the hydrant closest to the chicken coops!! Come see our dream in the works and soak up some serenity! Dogs are welcome, however they must be dog friendly, trained and well behaved. They are free to roam but chasing calves and causing trouble with other animals will not be tolerated. We also have dogs, but will do our best to have them put up when you arrive with adequate communication about you ETA . No bathroom facilities at the moment. Also, no fires unless approved by us! When you arrive, we will happily check you in and direct you to your camp site. Please feel free to ask us about anything you may need, but we will not bother you otherwise! We hope to see you soon! Park in my driveway is a perfectly named spot and excellent location! The host, Michelle was super helpful (proving helpful info before our trip) and very supportive and accommodating during! The driveway is well suited to parking a trailer and vehicle and in a great location - easy access to parks (for dog walking) and the highway. I would 100% recommend this location and host for your stay if a local easy to access spot is what you are looking for!

Madeline's property was so tranquil and just a short drive into town. With views of Pikes Peak and plenty of space to spread out. We discovered we were a bit larger than the recommended RV length, but Madeline and her Mom were so accommodating! The property is peaceful and we could let our dogs off leash, which is a plus. Especially for our furry full-time travelers to stretch their legs. I would highly recommend a stay here!

The Yetman Flower Farm was easy to find, convenient to access Denver and a sweet, quiet place to get a great night's sleep. I met Doug, the owner, the horses and cats. Everyone was welcoming. There are beautiful gardens, one with a glass green house in which a small group was learning watercolor painting together. The whole stay was a very pleasant experience. The pasture site was really nice and had some fantastic sunsets. Our host was very communicative and their partner was helpful as well when we pulled through the wrong gate! The sounds of goats and turkeys was a real treat. The two tips we have: we have would be to make sure to go to the dropped pin provided by the host via HipCamp; we put in the address and went through said wrong gate but the pin is exactly where you need to be. Just give a look ahead going through the field, there are a handful of small cactus but totally manageable if you go slow. We will most definitely utilize this camp again! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Counterpath. The neighborhood was very cute and my husband and I took several walks. There is a coffee shop, breakfast place and a restaurant (I think it was South American cuisine...we did not have an opportunity to eat there, but it looked interesting!) within a couple of blocks. We picked zucchini and apples from the garden and enjoyed them. The location has a food pantry weekly, but it did not interfere with any of our plans. I never met Tim in person, but he was good at communicating via text/hipcamp messaging. I would stay there again.
