Overnight, Seasonal, and Extended Stay Camping, we are open year-round. We have 30/50amp sites (shade and partial shade) around our lake, 20 amp in the "upper campground," and dry camping (full facilities) on the Arkansas River with Gold Medal fishing with access for all campers for fishing and floating. Many of our sites are great for star-gazing, watching meteors, looking for fireflies, and seeing the birds zip on by.

Adventure awaits with home to the highest mountain peaks in Colorado and the river and 102 miles of Trout Gold Medal Water. There is access to white water rafting, guided fishing, and fishing lessons. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the US by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The Sand Dunes are 90 minutes and Monarch Ski Area is 45, we have some of the best bird watching! Warbling Vireo, Western Wood-peewee, Cassin's Kingbird to name a few.

We have two 10' x 12' cabin tents available to rent. Both tents have 4 cots and wood floors. There is an unencumbered view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and they are located a short walk to the Willow Creek greenbelt. There are composting toilets and water on site. Atalanta Association is a land-based educational non-profit enterprise which is developing a model permaculture and husbandry environment. It is a place of learning that fosters growth for children and adults in the healing, creative, and technological arts, honoring the human spirit, nature, and community.
Located on 44 acres in the high-altitude desert of the San Luis Valley, the project is using permaculture-based land-use design to demonstrate sustainable living. The structures on the land demonstrate alternative building methods and materials, renewable energy sources, and ecologically appropriate technology. Ongoing programming includes the Cooperative Orchard Garden, the High Valley Dairy Goat and Sheep Co-Op, and the Therapeutic Riding Program.
All programming and development is focused on honoring the human spirit, nature, community, and cultural awareness with the mission of “Learning to live with personal responsibility in peace and harmony with all Creation.”

Our stay at Slice of Heaven exceeded our high expectations. When we arrived we were greeted by the host and given a full rundown of the property. Tricia was very generous and made sure we were going to enjoy our stay. We arrived at night to a very cozy remote cabin. The wood burning stove was fully stocked and created a warm environment. My group of six all had comfortable sleeping situations and were able to cook full meals in the well stocked kitchen. We were only able to stay one night and weren’t able to fully check out the property but, from what we saw we were thoroughly impressed. If I’m ever back in Colorado I would love to stay here again. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here!

Good distance to/from Salida, while also feeling “off the grid”. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Suggest bringing warm layers for the cooler evenings and a warm comforter. We had the absolute best time at the canvas tents! The animals were the highlight of our stay, the walk to the river was amazing as well. While we were there, a momma cow actually had her baby, which was such a special and unforgettable experience. The setting is peaceful, the tents are cozy, and you really feel connected to nature. Todd and Belinda are truly wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The tent was a perfect size and it was nice having it be on a platform so it wasn’t right on the ground. There were chairs inside and outside with a small table inside and a picnic table outside just like in the pictures. The listing says no fires but there is a propane fire but it didn’t work for us. I noticed one of their tent sites did have a functioning propane fire going so I’m not sure if they’re not allowed or if it was just out. Otherwise the site was beautiful, well kept and cool to see the cows right next to us! Bathrooms were clean and a short 2 min. walk away. They were communicative and recommended some restaurants in town for us!

This place worked well for what I was looking for. The tent is spacious and features a queen bed, a table, and a toilet (with a trash bag that you will need to take with you). The anarondak chairs are very comfortable and perfect for stargazing. There is not a lot of light pollution, so the stars are wonderful! You will need to bring all of your camping supplies with you, as it is more of a bare-bones spot, but plenty of space to set up a "kitchen" inside the tent, or outside on the picnic table. It's about 14 minutes from Salida, which is convenient. The owner has a good packing list and advice- I would follow it. Mainly, temperatures can drop significantly at night in this climate, so be sure to bring warm clothes and blankets. My pup and I had a relaxing evening.
