The campground is primitive. Water is available if you ask. It is set up with 5 large dispersed camping sites. There is a compost toilet outhouse in the campground. Geat for larger groups. Fire pits at each site, when fire is permitted. Propane campfires are ok when fire ban is on. Closest town is Beulah, Colorado. Great views of several mountain ranges! Peaceful and quiet.
The views are quite beautiful! There are extra acres with some hiking. Very peaceful with a view of the Pikes Peak mountain range and others.
We are at the foothills of the Wet Mountains and just 25 miles to Pueblo. Other nearby attractions if you’re exploring the vicinity are : Lake Pueblo State Park is 35 miles,
25 miles to Bishops Castle, and 11 miles to the town of Beulah.
Much of the campground is fenced providing safety for pets and children while also protecting the campers from wandering wildlife.

Thirty-six private natural acres high above Scenic Byway CO165. A secluded mountain top with privacy. You will be overlooking the beautiful Greenhorn Valley, with wide open views of Greenhorn Mountain and the Spanish Peaks. The stars at night are often breathtaking. It feels like you are on an island in the sky. It’s conveniently close to lakes, hiking, outdoor activities and supplies, restaurants and gas stations. Fires are allowed. But PLEASE check https://www.pueblo.us/2602/Fire-Restrictions. Fires must be in campfire circles only! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU FULLY DROWN YOUR CAMPFIRE BEFORE YOU LEAVE. Dead wood on the property is OK to burn but please do not burn your trash. All trash and waste needs to be packed out, included pet waste. There are trash cans and restrooms at the rest stop at I-25 and Highway 165. Firewood is available to purchase nearby in Colorado City at Ace Hardware and others.
You will have your choice of Camp site #1 and/or #2. They have flat mulched areas for an RV/Camper or for tent camping. Each has a fire ring and picnic table. Both sites allow room to turn around an RV or camper. Bring your own toilet for now. There is minimal shade available, so plan accordingly. Potable water is available at the blue ground hydrant in front of the little cabin to the west. It takes about 10-15 seconds to start running. The water pressure is low.
Use of firearms is prohibited. No fireworks are allowed.
Quiet time is after 10:00 p.m. Please be respectful of neighboring properties. remember you are on a hilltop so sound can travel :)

Driving a short while on a dirt path leads into a nice area surrounded by many willow trees of the area, around a turn on the dirt path opens up to a large open area. The open area consists of fine soil, lots of dry grass during the winter and and a dry creek at the edge of the property. This area is great for camping and listed activities. The nearby town has much much more to do in nature featuring fishing, camping, horseback riding and hiking. The property is on the other side of the creek. Be careful of spiky ground plants. Have fun and enjoy all that there is available! Please leave nature as it was when you arrived!

- Although we are only forty miles from the Sand Dunes park, it is a four hour drive to get there, so maybe not the best area to stay if the dunes are on your list.
- Days in the summer can get pretty hot and shade is hard to come by, so plan a day trip to Florence river park, (about 30 minutes drive)and hop in the Arkansas river and cool off.

Although the dirt roads are maintained there may be grooves and ruts in some areas due to weather. Please be advise that trucks and four-wheel vehicles will have a much easier time navigating these roads.
Other vehicles may need to slow down and take it easy through some potentially rough areas.
PROPERTY UPDATE:
DUE TO THE RECENT WIND STORM, SOME TREES WERE UPROOTED AND BLOWN OVER ON THE PROPERTY. TREES WERE REMOVE FROM THE ROAD AND CAMP SITES. SOME ARE STILL DOWN IN THE AREA. WE ARE WORKING WITH LOCAL CONTRACTORS TO HAVE THEM CUT DOWN FOR FIREWOOD AND MOVED OUT OF THE WAY.

Joshua’s place is just what we needed. From the open space, the views, the visit from a deer and the calls of several pheasants, everything was great.
We had the run of a large pasture. The kids could be kids and we could relax in quiet and solitude.

My dog & I very much enjoyed the peaceful seclusion and excellent hospitality provided by Mary Anne & Alex.
Their property is exactly the kind of remote tranquility I seek in backcountry drycamping settings (they have shorepower available, but I didn't need it during the 5 days)
Mary Anne's homemade muffins were an unexpected treat!
I would just recommend that campers be aware that rain can make for slickly surfaced unpaved, but graded roads.
The terrain is only slightly sloped, without rutting ...so high clearance isnt needed: Nonetheless, I lost traction, was sliding a bit until locking hubs & using 4WD.
A great secluded refuge overseen by very nice hosts. Two thumbs up!

This was the perfect place for our family. The kids had lots to do to keep them busy and the host was so nice and accommodating. I wish we would have stayed another night. There are so many games to play on the property, and along with the swimming, we just couldn’t squeeze it all in. They also did a movie night and had live music one night during our stay.
A couple practical things to keep in mind… .there are goat head stickers everywhere on the far side of the property. We brought our bikes and left with flat tires. The dog also had a hard time with them getting stuck in her paw. I don’t think this is throughout the campsite, but more specifically the pull through sites near the fences. Also, the camp store is very cute and you can tell a lot of love was put into it. It felt a little more for show, though. We forgot ketchup and they didn’t have it. Also, we hoped to maybe get a cup of coffee one morning since our coffee pot was on the fritz and they didn’t have coffee.

We spend Memorial weekend at this beautiful spot and it did not disappoint. Beautiful scenery and easy drive to the sand dunes and other little town in the area. La Vita is beautiful. The name is no joke you hear Coyotes in the evenings close by and in all directions. We brought an 30' RV towning a Jeep without issues. Plenty of room to move around and get level. Great group site. The is no firepit at the big RV spot but there are more further down the trail. Be prepared for wind, I don't think it stopped blowing for more then a few minutes each day.

We had a wonderful visit. We were comfortable, and Lydia was responsive and helpful. I am sorry we did not get to meet with her when we arrived, but there was an associate with whom we were able to get some info on local hikes. That was helpful. We would stay again.

Great camp spot! It was the weekend before Memorial Day weekend so my friend and I happened to be the only ones there but with only a few camp spots I doubt it would ever feel crowded. Loved the goats on the site to go up and pet! The camp host was super friendly and nice and he told us all about his future plans for the spot! Can’t wait to camp here again and see all the upgrades!
