On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite. There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour. We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport. When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful! This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds. Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite. A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.

We pride ourselves on blending nature and family camping in a safe, serene environment. We have one bathhouse with flushing toilets and heated showers; additional portables and vault toilets are located throughout the campground for convenience. Important notes: We are off-grid. There is no electricity in the campground with exception of a small solar powered system to operate our entry gate, guest Wi-Fi and intercom. Outlets are not available for guest use. All water is labeled non-potable. Guests may purify/filter at their discretion. Our campground is home to wildlife. You can minimize unwanted encounters by properly storing food and garbage. We have one central bathhouse with 3 flushing toilets. Sites vary in distance from a short walk to a short drive. The bathhouse has 4 shower stalls in the rear of the building. If you are looking for man made and leveled campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -  Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away.  Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.  Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. This beautiful property is situated on 55 secluded acres in the lovely foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Your adventure begins when you escape the pavement and experience three miles of beautiful scenery on a maintained dirt road. Swimming, fishing, and hiking await you. SAFE, GATED and perfect for moms who want to take their kids camping, or any one who wants to try out the camping experience but has been hesitant. 1 1/2 hours from Yosemite National Park. Reservations may be required. Experience the abundant wild life and soothing sound of the Fresno River. Put your feet in the sand and just unplug for a few days. Each season is uniquely beautiful. Spring hosts an abundance of green hills, wild flowers and cooler weather. The river is higher, faster and colder. New life pops up everywhere. Baby ducks, geese, quail and beaver frequent the river. Glitter Cove waterfall is in its full glory. The nights can be cool, so come prepared. Summer is the perfect time to swim and lounge in the river. As the days heat up, the river begins to slow and warms up to a comfortable yet refreshing temperature. New beaches emerge, just waiting to be explored. In late summer, early fall, there is a feeling of calm. The river slows significantly but still feels amazing to sit in. You can hear its gentle flow and soothing sound as it trickles over the rocks. This is a great time time to explore the river as it is mostly shallow with some swim holes. Most of the time it is very quiet. There is another camp down stream owned by a wonderful family. They are here a couple times per week, and also rent their camp. You may hear them having fun and engaging in target practice. The river is a shared space but it is rare to see anyone else. Noise travels in the canyon so you may hear occasional barking or other vehicles. Hearing coyotes sing at night is very common. The rarely seen wildlife includes rattle snakes, bob cats, coyotes, fox, mountain lions and bears. Don't worry, our animal friends like to keep their distance. Hope to see you soon! Home is one floor with front and back porches. Our unique property is an old working ranch with 35 acres of meadows, an old cabin, barn, natural springs, an inground pool, hot tub and swimming cistern. Our guest house is near the road and easily accessible but still very private. Roads are flat and parking easy. You have full and private access to the house, hot tub and pool areas. Near the pools: outdoor shower, sink, lounge chairs, covered and sunny areas. Our pools are not heated (and do not have the ability to be heated) and are covered in the winter months (November to April). Extra large living and dining room. 2 couches, 2 large dining room tables, smart tv, bluetooth speaker, games, pub table. Up to 3 at no extra costs. If you want to bring more chat us up. The 5 acres around the guest house are fenced but in front and at the driveway it's open. We have horses, deer, turkeys, barn cats... roaming around and we have farm dogs enclosed at our house. Our base price is for 6 guests, $35 extra per night per person in addition. Great place. The host was warm and welcoming. Loads of signs to find your way. The cows roam but can be close sometimes which was fun. I stayed at the top of the hill in a sense and woke up to a great sunrise. Clean porta potty and overall clean site. Loads of places to discard trash. Great place and close enough to Yosemite.

What a hidden treasure. We enjoyed a serene thanksgiving, and a visit from a blue heron. You can see Barry's love and care for the land. The facilities are clean, and there's even a hot water sink. Didn't get to get the boats this time, but definitely will return to try them next time.

We had a great experience tent camping! There are bathrooms with hot water and showers, and a little camp sink with tons of pots/pans/utensils! The fireplace was great, and gas grills were available too. Easy drive in to Yosemite. Mac and John were friendly and very helpful! We would definitely stay again for a Yosemite visit.

We were in the Yosemite tent. It was very roomy inside. The bed was comfortable. The only critique about the bedding was the laundry detergent used was really strong. The propane heater and stove worked fine although there was only a 1/2 tank. So I would suggest bringing your own just in case. The property was beautiful. It was very easy to find using the written directions.

we’ve stayed at John’s farm 3 times now, once in spring and twice in late November. every time it has been so amazing! the property is gorgeous and there’s so much open grassy areas to wander and sit on a blanket and just enjoy being in nature and not hearing any sounds but cows mooing! the porta potty is always clean and the camping spaces are large and well equipped with fire pits and wood! i would highly recommend John’s land to anyone. thank you again for sharing your property, John!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this HipCamp! The tent site was perfect — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. Everything we needed was there, from a well-equipped kitchen and fridge to spotless indoor toilets (such a bonus when camping with kids!). We went on the river a couple of times and the kids loved playing in it. Barry, our host, was attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Firewood was available for purchase, which made our evenings around the campfire even better. I came with my two kids, and we all had such a great time — we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for an easy, relaxing, and well-run camping experience.
