You also have access to the outdoor picnic area under the fig tree which has a BBQ, picnic table and sink for rinsing dishes. There is no indoor shower, but we do have a rustic outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Tent space We have a small orchard in front of the Nopal Studio. There is room for two tent sites. No camp fires are allowed in the orchard. If it is winter time, we do have a fire ring in the fig tree picnic area, as well as a propane BBQ. The bathroom is shared with the cabins. We have farm animals and dogs which can be loud. The dogs chase squirrels and bark maniacally, and the ducks quack at sunrise, like, lots! There are also spiders, wasps, bees, rattlesnakes etc!! Please be aware, this is the country!

I loved my one night stay and really wish I could have stayed longer. Beautiful property and many flowers were still in bloom. Erin and Eric are very hospitable and made me feel welcome. The sunset was spectacular. Oh so quiet and enjoyed listening to the cows in the early morning. I will definitely be back.

Private space. No man-made structures at sight. It's like having a piece of the forest for yourself. Free firewood and the fattest pinecones we'd ever seen. Feeding the goats was an awesome experience. Some of the best most hospitable hosts! We'll definitely be back.

This place may not be for everyone, but for two dual sport motorcycle campers shut out of “normal” campgrounds due to the government shutdown, it was perfect. Kind of a steampunk vibe with lots of concrete and steel, with a view of the Stony Gorge Reservoir spillway. It is central to some fantastic motorcycle riding.

Huge area to choose a spot to camp. Plenty of trees for hammock camping and lots of flat area for tents. Common area was super cool with a HOT outdoor shower. Shower does have walls that cover your torso and stuff, but it's not completely enclosed. Shared kitchen facilities, fridge, freezer, etc. all pretty top notch for a hipcamp spot. Two flush toilets in a shed structure with a lockable door. Would love a sink in there :) Super, super friendly and hospitable hosts.

Highly recommend this spot! The hosts are super nice and leave you to your peace, allowing you to freedom, respectively of course. The night sky is incredible and the rooster wakes you in the morning. I was greeted the next morning by a group of gardeners studying for a class but they weren’t intrusive. I even got to pick some apples off the trees for a road snack! I was well prepared with my own water and potty system and had a lovely time visiting all the dogs & cats!

This was the perfect place to take a day or two and just relax. The tiny house had just enough kitchen that for a short stay you didn’t need to go out unless you wanted to. It was impressively efficient. I did bring a cooler because I like cold beverages, but the small fridge would be enough for the yogurts and cheese I brought with for my 2 night stay. I had a nice time playing with the kittens, Caspian the dog, (who dutifully slept on my porch) and exploring the property. The bed downstairs was very comfortable and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. 10/10 recommend!

We stayed at the Tiny House on our way home from a trip to the Portola area and the Feather River Canyon. The Tiny House, though tiny, has every thing you might need. Couch, desk, sink, stove, frig, bathroom, shower, heater/air conditioner and spacious loft bed. Everything functional and clean. Outdoor table and chairs outside with beautiful patio tree lighting available at night. We found a friendly dog under the front stairs in the morning and a wide variety of chickens to gaze at on the property. All good here.

Weekend Trip to The Ripe Choice Farm Stay

We had a fantastic stay at the farm this past weekend, camping Saturday night in our RV trailer. It's a beautiful property with a lush vineyard and apple orchards. The host Mark was very helpful and friendly, he greeted us upon arrival and gave us some good ideas for activities in the area. The RV area is large and you can select which area you want to setup camp. We picked a walnut tree just past the barn which offered a good amount of shade for our trailer. No bathroom or hookups so come prepared. The other host Chief, a large friendly golden Labrador, was very friendly and kept us company. There other critters were fun to see including chickens, pot belly pigs, cats and a large tortoise But the highlight was Chef Tammy's catered breakfast. It was all freshly prepared with ingredients from the farm including freshly pressed apple juice. I didn't ask where the bacon came from since one of the pigs kept us company during breakfast :) My only regret was not pre-ordering Tammy's catered dinner! Given how delicious the breakfast was I can only imagine what her dinners are like. Next time. This must be the best value HipCamp yet, I appreciate the hosts keeping the camping fees low and offering incredible meals for a reasonable price. Thanks!

Really neat little ranch property with 3 cozy abodes to rent. The tiny cabin we stayed in was very clean and thoughtfully designed to maximize the space. It was very hot the weekend we visited so thankful for the AC unit which got our house down to comfortable within seconds! Our kids loved the chickens, sheep, and llama!. Downtown Chico is only 15-20 mins away and Oroville only 20-30, lots of options! Highly recommend!

I came with a friend and we loved camping here! You can just pop a tent up by the grape vines and enjoy some lovely views of stars at nighttime, take a walk through the vines and apple trees, and meet the animals. We ran into mark in the morning while he letting the chickens out and had a lovely chat with him. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing way to spend a night near the lake.

I originally booked the airstream for a little getaway with my husband and our daughter, but he unfortunately became a bit ill and decided to stay home. At the last minute I decided to still go, taking our 17 month old daughter on our first Mother-Daughter glamping trip. It was the best decision ever! I asked If we could switch to the Tiny Home w/ a king bed and Carolyn and Julio happily obliged. The space was absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. They even welcomed us with farm fresh eggs and delicious homemade muffins! All of the cute and friendly animals on the property kept my daughter and I thoroughly entertained. We especially loved playing with all the kittens roaming around and we had a blast feeding the chickens. I loved chatting with Carolyn and Julio and getting to know them a bit. They are such kind and loving people who truly made my daughter and I feel right at home. I am already planning our next visit back!

Weekend Trip to The Ripe Choice Farm Stay

Went with a friend and my dog over the 4th of July to escape city firework madness and it was just what we needed. Mark was a friendly host, who patiently put up with all my pre visit questions. His wife, the chef, is an AMAZING cook, and if you don’t order food you’re missing out on a big part of the wonderful experience. The farm is tranquil and cute. A couple of old friendly dogs, and Chief, the male, was a sweetheart and hung out with us day and night (we appreciated the company and my dog got along with him well). There is a tortoise named Zippy who is very zippy, pigs, chickens, and a funny young guard rooster who didn’t want me petting his pigs. We would love to come back again!
