There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

All wheel drive or 4WD vehicles recommended although the lower section could be accessed by most vehicles. Shorter trailers allowed at Site A. Site 3 can also accommodate a small teardrop-style trailer The property is totally undeveloped at this time. It is a wildlife corridor for deer and bear (keep all food contained), the mountain quail and the blue grouse. Keep your eyes open for the Hermit Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, and our gorgeous visitor from the tropics the Western Tanager. You are likely to hear the Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see it and its red crest in an undulating flight through the trees. The property has a lovely west facing slope which climbs gradually at first then more steeply to the top of the property. We have drive-in camping on the lower section. There is one walk-in site at the top of the property. There is wonderful hiking nearby with several trailheads in the area within approximately 4 miles. We use our phones for internet and streaming. There is a 50 inch TV and dvd player. Bring your own hardware/cords if you want to stream from your phone. We have goats if you would like to feed or with. My wife and I live on the property in a house about 200 feet away. You will have as much privacy/interaction as you desire. Our garage is attached to the guesthouse, so I may need to access it occasionally during your stay. We also travel so you may have the property to yourself. We do have two dogs on the property. The Australian healeris very friendly. The Anatolian shepherd is a watch dog so he will bark at you upon arrival and then settle down and leave you alone. You may hear him barking at night at any moving wildlife (deer, turkey, etc.). The last 4.5 miles of the drive to the property is on a winding road. Please drive carefully.

The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. Very private; seldom do you come across other people. Amador brewing, Solid Ground brewing and the world famous Poor Reds are about 30 minutes away. Learn more about this land: Renovated guesthouse on 20 acres in the gold country. 1900 feet elevation. 30 minute hike to the Consumnes River, with beaches and swimming. We have goats if you would like to feed or with. My wife and I live on the property in a house about 200 feet away. You will have as much privacy/interaction as you desire. Our garage is attached to the guesthouse, so I may need to access it occasionally during your stay. We also travel so you may have the property to yourself. We do have two dogs on the property. The Australian healeris very friendly. The Anatolian shepherd is a watch dog so he will bark at you upon arrival and then settle down and leave you alone. You may hear him barking at night at any moving wildlife (deer, turkey, etc.). The last 4.5 miles of the drive to the property is on a winding road. Please drive carefully.

We loved our stay! Helen was so kind and helpful which was much appreciated as novice campers. The local hikes she recommended were top notch and doable with two kids. We camped in the fall and nights were chilly, but the days were pleasant and the landscape with the changing colors was stunning. The space felt safe to stay with my two kids and we left feeling empowered to camp again!

Weekend Trip to The Foxes Family Farm

What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday with our 9-month-old, and it was such a wonderful experience. We loved that we could upgrade provisions, we used the propane tank for the fire pit and the pour-over coffee setup, which came with freshly roasted beans (amazing!). The whole place has this relaxing, no-nonsense vibe that we really appreciated. We went during the fall, and it was so beautiful seeing the vines changing color. The electric blanket made our night cozy and comfortable even when it got chilly. Aaron was outstanding. His hospitality, knowledge, and genuine passion for his craft really stood out. We enjoyed wine tasting, hanging out in the “vincade,” and my husband watched a bit of Monday Night Football! The wine was fantastic, and we were so impressed we ended up joining the wine club. The yurt was spacious and comfy, the bed was great, and there was plenty of room for our daughter to crawl around. The portapotty was clean, and everything felt thoughtfully maintained. Just an overall relaxing, memorable trip. Can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Ascension Ranch

I am writing this review to warn everyone that there is no longer a tent/yurt set up at Lovers Creek. When I asked the man about it, he said that a guest had brought the tent it wasn't included in the site, which is a lie if you look at all the reviews and pics there used to be a tent that stayed on the wooden platform. Luckily I brought my tent just in case so we didn't need to leave. The road getting onto his property is very narrow and beautiful and I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my car, I was glad to have a truck. The restroom is down at the "entrance" and a 10 min walk to the Lovers Creek site. We took the truck each time. There were cute animals to see on the property. Roads are very dusty! The best part about this place and the main reason I might come back is for the privacy. After check in, no one bothered us and the nearest campsite maybe 500 feet away across the other side.

The sweeping views and gentle quiet made it feel like a hidden retreat, yet it’s only about 11 minutes from the charming streets of Nevada City. Our hosts, Chris and Rebecca, were warm, welcoming, and attentive. Saturday morning, our car key’s remote battery unexpectedly died. Instead of having to call an Uber or drive into town for a replacement, they cheerfully produced a spare battery—turning what could have been a stressful moment into a reminder of their thoughtful hospitality. It’s rare to find a spot that combines natural beauty, convenience, and hosts who genuinely care, but this place has all three. We had a great one night stay at RockNWater Cove Camping! We stayed in Curley w/ an RV but definitely want to return to camp at one of the tent spots. The hosts, Kris and her husband, were super nice and answered lots of questions we had. The river access is really pretty w/ a nice beach area. Plusses are flush toilets, showers, propane fire pits with propane provided, potable water and electric hook ups. Looking forward to going back next summer!

This is a beautiful spot with an amazing view of the Yuba river canyon and beyond. We slept in the Little house, it was very cozy. Chris and Rebecca are very welcoming and know the land and the area well.

Weekend Trip to RockNWater Cove Camping

As someone who loves camping it’s always so hard to get reservations at public parks. So thankful to Hipcamp and Kris for this site. We had a river view with a lovely public beach steps away. I got to wash my face in fresh river water in the morning. Kris’ husband checked up on us and made sure we had enough propane for the gas fire pit. It was a lovely stay and I hope I get to return!!

Fantastic site! Great for a big group. Amenities were great- clean & lots of bathrooms. Sink & picnic tables at our site. The river was near by but far enough away we didn’t have to dash after our kids constantly. Both hosts were lovely.

We loved the river site!! It was private, relaxing, and super close to the beach. The bathrooms and showers were clean, water was hot, definitely recommend! The propane fire pits were a great accommodation due to the fire risk. We had a wonderful time!

Weekend Trip to Sugarpine Slopes at Grouse Ridge

This was a great secluded camping area. We went in mid October so we had the place to ourselves. The pups enjoyed the ability to be off leash. We enjoyed the proximity to different lakes. It was so quiet we could hear the wings flap on the birds flying overhead. The sites have good space and it is nice to have the out house even with a trailer. Would definitely go again.
