Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses. In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. Today, Namaste Farms is recognized around the globe for raising high quality wool producing sheep. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.

The Base Camp first name was Palomar Gardens, Then Oak Knoll Camp and is now being rebranded back to its Original Name Basecamp Palomar.
The property is rustic, a little dusty and very old school. If you're looking for a new type of camping with 5-star amenities we recommend Pala or Pechanga Resort RV Park Casino RV Park.

The camping area resides on the North side of the Via Cordoniz access road, starting at Deadwood Dome site and the Detour N De Luz sign at top of staircase, ranging North West 3/4 of the mountain up, and 10 acres left. Please be mindful of the property markers, and respect our neighboring property lines. You are responsible for your own fitness in hiking the inclining trails and staircases. Hiking or walking sticks are highly recommended.
A shared cooking area, has been cleared, a small fire extinguisher provided, burn kit, and carved crater seating. Nearby, a shared pit toilet pallet stall with a small 5 gallon solar shower bag, shower
and pouring bottle-for minor freshening, vanity mirror and 5 gallon water jug, refilled as needed.
Two small sleeping tents are available for rent. Cost is an additional $5 per night, per sleeping tent. If you would like the tent set up and taken down for you, we charge a $5 flat, per tent, set up/breakdown fee. One single person, military style, fold out, sleeping cot, is also available for rent, at $5 per night. Please message us in advance to reserve sleeping amenities, as they are available first come, first serve.

We had a blast at Saddle Up. Tons of goats for my kids to chase. Space to ride bikes (regular peddle) for the kids. Level sites for the Sprinter. Horseback riding with the family. The people taking care of the place are really fun and dedicated to the animals. A few tips. Bring a pop up or awning for shade. It’s the desert so extra water to soak yourself and drink. There is a Weber charcoal grill at each site. Talk to the volunteers, they have good stories!!

Beautiful and well laid out campground. There is signage throughout and we had no trouble finding camp. Views were great especially in the morning when the marine layer is rolling out. We came in June and the weather was perfect with no biting insects. The animal encounter was charming and fun and well worth the price. Will definitely come back.

2 nights at Splitrock Farm and Retreat
The Cloudcrest site and vintage airstream stay was fabulous. The site has lovely views and lots of space. The trailer itself had everything we needed. My 6'2" partner had no trouble sleeping in the full size bed so that was great. The front porch was such a relaxing spot to hang out with a book and a glass of wine. The only real issue we had was ants. It was got and those guys were looking for water. VERY common! The camp host placed an ant trap in a cabinet and that eventually helped, but seeing dead ants one the shelf was not fun. We just closed the cabinet door and kept going. We were fine with it as we prefer that over spraying chemicals in the air. I have stayed at Splitrock 3 or 4 times in the past and just love it. GREAT outdoor(ish) showers, bathrooms and lots of water. There are goats roaming the property and a fabulous viewing deck above the clouds. Nice hiking trails and GLORIOUS sunrises and sunsets!!

Weekend Trip to Splitrock Farm and Retreat
Luna at Cloudcrest was the perfect place for our puppy's first camping adventure.
The property is peaceful, beautiful, and feels worlds away from the noise of everyday life. The views across the rolling Fallbrook hills are stunning, but the animals are what truly make this place unforgettable.
The goats completely stole our hearts. There were nearly forty of them, each with their own personality. Some were curious, some mischievous, and all of them were entertaining. We spent far more time than expected simply watching them interact and enjoying their company.
Our puppy was absolutely fascinated. Watching her discover camping while also trying to understand an entire hillside full of goats was worth the trip all by itself.
There was also a beautiful farm dog who seemed to quietly supervise the property and added even more charm to the experience.
As evening settled in, the farm became incredibly peaceful. The hills glowed gold, the animals settled down, and the stars slowly filled the sky. Sitting outside under the stars with our puppy beside us was one of those simple moments we'll remember for a long time.
We came for a weekend away and left with wonderful memories. We would absolutely recommend Luna at Cloudcrest and look forward to visiting our goat friends again.

Weekend Trip to Basecamp Palomar
This is my 3rd time back and the property and the airstream seems to get better every time. The pool is now open. It’s super clean with plenty of seating. The nights are just as quiet and even with someone next door it feels pretty private. We will see you next time!!!

We had an amazing experience at Frank’s Land! We camped at Site 1, and it was wonderful. Our 5-year-old had a blast on the tire swing, climbing rocks, and getting to pet the baby goats and puppies. He was so happy the entire time. Our dog enjoyed it as well!

Wow what an amazing weekend with the dog and son. Alastair had a blast seeing the goats and even saw a pig. The dog had fun as well, at morning hearing the owl and night coyotes. Nothing better. The bus I didn’t use besides the Alastair going in and out. Cooked some steak on fire pit. Campsite held my 10 person tent. And perfect place to get away.

Super cool campground with tons of space and the named spots had plenty of room between each other to not feel like you’re on top of your neighbor. Redtail Rock had a cool rock hang out with a fire pit as well as the fire pit in the center of the site. Great views and awesome goats roaming through every morning!

Second visit to Splitrock and it was just as nice as the first. This time there were kids mountain biking and it was great just watching everyone have fun. All the other campers enjoyed themselves while still being respectful of the land, animals and other families. It was great to see. Of course, we saw our favorite goats and Pedro the alpaca. Each time we’ve been here, my kids ask when we are coming back. We will be soon!

This was my first experience at a Hipcamp. I loved it! It was fun to have goats and a llama wander through the camp site. The last 2 nights I was the only camper and the howl of coyotes made me feel like a pioneer alone on the prairie.
