The outhouse that you see was used when it was first built and now is for storage. The original owner built the house himself and it was originally on piers alone with no other foundation! There is a folder in the bedroom closet of the house over the years. The decorations were here when we bought it so we kept them to preserve the house’s uniqueness. We treasure this house which is nestled amongst the trees and has so many beautiful birds that visit. Many turkeys love to stop by too! This particular property was where the Buffalo soldiers kept their working horses close to 100 years ago in what is now the last standing original buffalo soldier barn. Old artifacts and handmade tack can still be found in the giant rustic barn. We are just starting out doing this, but have the options of staying in a brand new shed yet to be converted, in the barn inside an old stall to have a real authentic experience where the soldiers used to rest or a tent overlooking the old historical barn and the fabulous horses (right now we have babies!). We have multiple cross fences fenced areas including stalls and areas for your dog but will need to discuss details beforehand. We are very pet and people friendly.

Tiny Cabin #2 (TC2) sits on top of the property with Mountain to Ocean views. It's a great place for a weekend getaway for Star gazing, watch a sunset and City lights. A place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. A short drive away is the towns of Alpine and Descanso, Cuyamaca State Park and Laguna Mountain. San Diego Beaches are down I-8 . TC2 has two seating areas for your privacy. Plus, plenty of space to roam around. It's above the common game and dining area. Inside has a queen size bed, a small refrigerator, sink, Coffee maker, and cabinet with cooking supplies. There is a microwave, one burner hot plate. The BBQ is propane. We have made some improvements to the TC put in new sturdy steps, bed frame and lights. While a campfire ban is on we do allow Duraflame type logs. The property is located in a high risk fire zone.

Built in the 50’s it is sitting on 2 parcels and is over ½ acre in size. We also have 2 other cabins for rent in Julian for larger groups. The outhouse that you see was used when it was first built and now is for storage. The original owner built the house himself and it was originally on piers alone with no other foundation! There is a folder in the bedroom closet of the house over the years. The decorations were here when we bought it so we kept them to preserve the house’s uniqueness. We treasure this house which is nestled amongst the trees and has so many beautiful birds that visit. Many turkeys love to stop by too! If you hear the deep cooing from the monster doves (who are very shy) you can try to spot one. They are amazing. We really hope you love it as much as we do.

This is a historical property in campo California. A great old west town with an interesting history behind it. This particular property was where the Buffalo soldiers kept their working horses close to 100 years ago in what is now the last standing original buffalo soldier barn. Old artifacts and handmade tack can still be found in the giant rustic barn. The barn is now used to breed unique crossbred horses that have gained Note-oriety, and have been featured on the cover of magazines, including the Boot Barn campaign (who intend to use the barn in in future photo shoots) as well as use famous spotted horse, Confettis American Warrior in the next ad campaign being shot in Hollywood next month. We tried to keep the barn with its original charm and added some world class beautiful horses that are available for riding around the property and/or photoshoots during your stay for an additional cost. Lots of space for trailer and very secure stalls in the barn. We are just starting out doing this, but have the options of staying in a brand new shed yet to be converted, in the barn inside an old stall to have a real authentic experience where the soldiers used to rest or a tent overlooking the old historical barn and the fabulous horses (right now we have babies!). We have multiple cross fences fenced areas including stalls and areas for your dog but will need to discuss details beforehand. We are very pet and people friendly.

I loved staying at Camp Chester! The camper and bathroom are well equipped with just about everything you might need! I loved the little outdoor kitchen. The view from the bathroom is a bonus :) There was plenty of room for my dog to roam around and enjoy all the sniffs! It was so quiet and peaceful. I loved hearing the coyotes at night, the breeze through the trees and the birdsongs. We got to take in a peaceful sunset at Zen Point and enjoy the nature trails around the property. It truly felt private and secluded. This was our second stay at Birdsong, and I’m sure we’ll be back again sometime!

This place is absolutely incredible. The views were stunning and it was fantastic letting the dogs off leash to romp around. Todd was nice enough to share hiking, winery and food recommendations in the area that led us to a breathtaking hike to Eagle Rock via the PCT and a delicious winery (Sierra Roble) right next door. Also Garage 79 is a great spot to grab a beer and some tacos. This trip was the exact reset we needed. Rate to find a place with full hookups and complete privacy. We will 100% be returning.

Weekend Trip to Glamping in San Diego’s Backcountry

We wanted to take our grand babies who are 2 and 9 months on a trial run to see how they liked it and this was the most amazing place to do that trial run. There was a total of 5 adults and 2 little ones and we had so much room to spread out and get comfy. The bathrooms were a little far of a walk for a toddler who potty trained recently but other than that the site had everything we needed and then some. Anything we weren’t sure of and Shantel was right on it helping us out. The first night we caught 46+mile an hour winds dropping the temps into the 30’s but we turned the propane heaters on and hunkered down in the yurts and were just fine. The tree hammocks were a hit for naps and playing with babies. Lots of chairs around the fire and kitchen supplies. We plan to make this a yearly tradition with our family. So pack your clothes and food and head up! Unplug from life and make some memories.

Everything was great. Place and people were all amazing. We took the tour and really enjoyed it. The only thing that I wasn’t used to from past farms we have stayed at- they usually welcome you to help and interact with the animals if you are staying on property but here they didn’t. For the record, that wasn’t offered in the listing, I kinda just assumed it from past experiences and that was wrong. Overall, great place and great people!!

We loved spending time in the Sovereign Airstream! It was a weekend of firsts for my son - first camp fire, first s’more, and first time feeding farm animals! It was a wonderful way to introduce my son to camping in a way that reduced the pressures of the wild on a toddler (and me). Highly recommended! And Kimber was a wonderful host! We did the animal feeding experience, which was a treat and something my son won’t stop talking about. 10/10, will absolutely do again

After being 50% excited and 100% lost I called our host Jackie. When she came to get me I knew I made the right choice. She was warm, welcoming and the cookies were fire. As I walked into Pinky’s Bunkhouse I knew I would get the much needed reset that I desired. My first night I watched the sunset from the hot tub. The next morning I set off on the several hiking trails, enjoyed the natural rock formations and was inspired by hidden treasures along the way: a wooden swing, a tree phone and those sunsets! The sites were all private and the bathhouse was really cute. Extremely pet friendly with no additional fees. My two Great Danes and senior boxer found their zen and I got my reset 😃

Scott and Susanne were so kind and such a pleasure to meet! The property is beautiful and not far from some beaches. They allowed us to say hello and meet all the boarded horses on their property and we were surprised by the beautiful shed Scott built and decorated as well as surprised by the hot water shower! This all really elevated our camping experience and I would 10/10 recommend camping here regardless if you bring horses or just yourself and some friends!

Weekend Trip to Manzanita Ridge

Absolutely loved the stay at Manzanita Ridge, came up with a couple of friends to rest and relax and we had plenty. Although we visited at the peak of summer heat it was still very relaxing. The trailer had wonderful air conditioning and everything we needed was available. John was very sweet and provided careful instructions and we really enjoyed the quiet star gazing on the deck with a nice fire as well. Dont have any complaints whatsoever. If I needed to state some improvements it would only be about the wooden bench to be fixed so that one can enjoy a nice cup of coffee and also a little more comfortable outdoor seating. But otherwise perfectly quiet and relaxing. We will definately be coming back.
