Broken Branch Creek is a new family farm in Paso Robles, CA. Our land is abundant with with blue oaks and local wildlife. There is a creek bed, usually dry most of the year, that provides excellent rock hunting and shady areas with overhanging oaks. We have grazing cattle fenced off from the camping areas and farm so you may see or hear them during your stay. The entrance to the camping area is a very wide oil pipe fenced driveway off Branch Road, designed to accommodate farm equipment and cattle trailers. Sometimes map apps say you've arrived at one of the separate residential driveways on the property. Please keep looking for the commercial sized entrance. We are a 15 minute drive to the restaurants and shopping in downtown Paso Robles, 8 minutes to the Vina Robles Amphitheater, 6 minutes to the Hunter Ranch Golf Course, and 5 min to the Sensorio Art Exhibit. The Places:
The Dream Catcher is two micro trailers with a large outdoor deck space and cast iron tub in between them. One trailer is sleeping quarters with a mini kitchenette and the other trailer is a full bathroom with shower. The spaces are small and cozy. The views are epic. Overlooking the majestic Paso Robles valley with vineyards with world class views, the spacious deck is the place to be for sunset.
The Tiny House:
A Fairy tale cottage style wooden tiny home built in the 1980's with a bottle wall, full bath, and reading nook. This three story wonder will leave you inspired to step into your own story. Fully equipped with a small kitchen, queen bed, reading nook and two beautiful outdoor decks, you'll feel like you stepped into another world.
The Main Bungalow is a 1970's GEM, built by a movie industry icon with views of the valley through the stunning and huge five windows overlooking the Salinas River. Two bedrooms downstairs and two full baths, accompany a well appointed kitchen. The upstairs loft accommodates two additional semi private queen beds, and additional seating area. Sunrises from the bedrooms are rivaled by few.

Barbara and Dan bought these 37 acres in 2005. It had no improvements. The only thing it had going for it was a 250-year-old oak tree, and its location in the heart of wine country. We would come up and camp under the tree, and plant. In 2007, we drilled a well. In 2008, Dan proposed under the tree, and we brought in power. We have continued to make improvements since. We built a little house, then we built a big house, we added farm animals, kids, fruit trees, a jam line, a pond, and more keep coming! So come up and enjoy the farm like we did in the good old days! FALL DISCLOSURE:
Two nights of harvesting will happen between late September and late October, but unlikely disturb your stay (though we cannot not guarantee as we are an operating vineyard). It's kinda cool to watch if you happen to be here during our harvesting of wine grapes. If desired, contact us a few days before your scheduled stay to get the harvesting schedule.
Our tasting room is currently closed for daily tasting, the upper buildings on the property may be rented out for private parties and overnight stays. These buildings are approximately 300 yards from the hip camp location and are not in direct few of our Hip Camp site.
If you are interested in renting out the upper buildings, please inquire with host.
WINERIES
As of now Central Coast wineries are requiring tasting appointments by reservation under California law as of 2020. Weekend reservations are highly recommended. Weekday reservations can usually be made day of.

Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Sheer cliffs attest to area being underwater, long ago. Galaxies overhead at night are awesome and free from light pollution. Thus, great stargazing! Cattle and forage hay ranch, but cattle could be anywhere on the property. Absolutely no open fires. We are part of an Agricultural Conservancy. We do offer ranch tours at various times of the year. You may request a tour for an additional charge, when available. You'll have a 360 degree view overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountain Range as far as you can see to the West and the Sierra Nevada Range, as far as you can see to the East.
We are conveniently located about 15 minutes off Hwy 101, to the North of San Miguel, and offer a private place to relax and rest overnight on your way to or from your other destinations. It is quiet! Occasionally, coyotes howl at night or our two handsome Angus bulls bellow, or a wild boar family grunts as they head from one location to another, usually with an entourage of piglets... just passing through. They are all part of the local country in California and add to the beauty, if you're fortunate enough to hear them from afar. The boar migrate and may not be around for weeks, as they have traveled elsewhere. You may miss all night sounds except the breeze, as most nights are completely silent. It's a rejuvenating experience!
Please ask if interested in local day trips or points of interest, and we will try to accommodate you. We will suggest local activities. Lakes Nacimiento, San Antonio and Santa Margarita are an easy distance. All three are quite different from one another. Wine and Beer get a lot of press and rightly so, but there are other relaxing and inspiring activities for all, available when you are here! Each community has a city or town park, so you can enjoy relaxing or playing with your children on hot days, under tall, well-established trees. Everyone needs time to exercise, especially children!
Camp Roberts, just North of Paso Robles, has two military museums to visit and the West Garrison is just over the 101 to the West of us! Out near the Paso Robles Airport there is the Warbird Museum, a must for military aircraft and history buffs. iginal full-size restored aircraft with amazing stories behind each one. numbers of cars Breweries, numerous wineries, and distilleries abound! Beautiful country roads and Parkfield, the earthquake capital of the world, are about a 40 min. drive. Not far away... is the magnificent Pacific Ocean! Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles.
Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait.
Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay.
We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea.
We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water.
Please bring your own drinking/cooking water.
It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker!
On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey).
Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots.
but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them.
We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen.
Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited.
Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

There is a creek bed, usually dry most of the year, that provides excellent rock hunting and shady areas with overhanging oaks. We have grazing cattle fenced off from the camping areas and farm so you may see or hear them during your stay. The entrance to the camping area is a very wide oil pipe fenced driveway off Branch Road, designed to accommodate farm equipment and cattle trailers. Sometimes map apps say you've arrived at one of the separate residential driveways on the property. Please keep looking for the commercial sized entrance. We are a 15 minute drive to the restaurants and shopping in downtown Paso Robles, 8 minutes to the Vina Robles Amphitheater, 6 minutes to the Hunter Ranch Golf Course, and 5 min to the Sensorio Art Exhibit. We're just off the Union Road Wine Trail among the Back Roads Wineries of Paso Robles. Please be aware we cannot accept longer than 7 day bookings.

The Places:
The Dream Catcher is two micro trailers with a large outdoor deck space and cast iron tub in between them. One trailer is sleeping quarters with a mini kitchenette and the other trailer is a full bathroom with shower. The spaces are small and cozy. The views are epic. Overlooking the majestic Paso Robles valley with vineyards with world class views, the spacious deck is the place to be for sunset.
The Tiny House:
A Fairy tale cottage style wooden tiny home built in the 1980's with a bottle wall, full bath, and reading nook. This three story wonder will leave you inspired to step into your own story. Fully equipped with a small kitchen, queen bed, reading nook and two beautiful outdoor decks, you'll feel like you stepped into another world.
The Main Bungalow is a 1970's GEM, built by a movie industry icon with views of the valley through the stunning and huge five windows overlooking the Salinas River. Two bedrooms downstairs and two full baths, accompany a well appointed kitchen. The upstairs loft accommodates two additional semi private queen beds, and additional seating area. Sunrises from the bedrooms are rivaled by few.

Barbara and Dan bought these 37 acres in 2005. It had no improvements. The only thing it had going for it was a 250-year-old oak tree, and its location in the heart of wine country. We would come up and camp under the tree, and plant. In 2007, we drilled a well. In 2008, Dan proposed under the tree, and we brought in power. We have continued to make improvements since. We built a little house, then we built a big house, we added farm animals, kids, fruit trees, a jam line, a pond, and more keep coming! So come up and enjoy the farm like we did in the good old days! A beautiful spot in a vineyard with peaceful rolling hills with tons of privacy in Paso Robles Wine Country. We offer a level spot beside a barn surrounded by apple trees and acres of vineyard. There is a small fire pit. A perfect location for outdoor activities and wine tasting around Paso Robles Wine Country, secluded and surrounded by nature. Live working vineyard, may experience vineyard operations from time to time.
FALL DISCLOSURE:
Two nights of harvesting will happen between late September and late October, but unlikely disturb your stay (though we cannot not guarantee as we are an operating vineyard). It's kinda cool to watch if you happen to be here during our harvesting of wine grapes. If desired, contact us a few days before your scheduled stay to get the harvesting schedule.
Our tasting room is currently closed for daily tasting, the upper buildings on the property may be rented out for private parties and overnight stays. These buildings are approximately 300 yards from the hip camp location and are not in direct few of our Hip Camp site.

As of now Central Coast wineries are requiring tasting appointments by reservation under California law as of 2020. Weekend reservations are highly recommended. Weekday reservations can usually be made day of.

Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Sheer cliffs attest to area being underwater, long ago. Galaxies overhead at night are awesome and free from light pollution. Thus, great stargazing! Cattle and forage hay ranch, but cattle could be anywhere on the property. Absolutely no open fires. We are part of an Agricultural Conservancy. We do offer ranch tours at various times of the year. You may request a tour for an additional charge, when available. You'll have a 360 degree view overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountain Range as far as you can see to the West and the Sierra Nevada Range, as far as you can see to the East.
We are conveniently located about 15 minutes off Hwy 101, to the North of San Miguel, and offer a private place to relax and rest overnight on your way to or from your other destinations. It is quiet! Occasionally, coyotes howl at night or our two handsome Angus bulls bellow, or a wild boar family grunts as they head from one location to another, usually with an entourage of piglets... just passing through. They are all part of the local country in California and add to the beauty, if you're fortunate enough to hear them from afar. The boar migrate and may not be around for weeks, as they have traveled elsewhere. You may miss all night sounds except the breeze, as most nights are completely silent. It's a rejuvenating experience!
Please ask if interested in local day trips or points of interest, and we will try to accommodate you. We will suggest local activities. Lakes Nacimiento, San Antonio and Santa Margarita are an easy distance. All three are quite different from one another. Wine and Beer get a lot of press and rightly so, but there are other relaxing and inspiring activities for all, available when you are here! Each community has a city or town park, so you can enjoy relaxing or playing with your children on hot days, under tall, well-established trees. Everyone needs time to exercise, especially children!
Camp Roberts, just North of Paso Robles, has two military museums to visit and the West Garrison is just over the 101 to the West of us! Out near the Paso Robles Airport there is the Warbird Museum, a must for military aircraft and history buffs. iginal full-size restored aircraft with amazing stories behind each one. numbers of cars Breweries, numerous wineries, and distilleries abound! Beautiful country roads and Parkfield, the earthquake capital of the world, are about a 40 min. drive. Not far away... is the magnificent Pacific Ocean! There are daily deer sitings on the property and the location couldn't be better. It is right off the 101 freeway, but far enough for peace and quiet. Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles.
Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait.
Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay.
We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea.
We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water.
Please bring your own drinking/cooking water.
It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker!
On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey).
Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots.
but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them.
We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen.
Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited.
Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the biggest, little dog ever: Nova ♥️. Nova and her family were very accommodating and helpful, but also gave us plenty of privacy. The morning birdsong and evening insect/frog noises were delightful! Our two pups had a blast frolicking in the ferns, playing at the sandy beach, and getting to know the sheep next door. This was an ideal base for our long weekend of cycling and wine tasting. We hope to return for another cycling getaway!

Very peaceful spot. We bought firewood in advance and Graham delivered it to the camp spot for us. It was so quiet and peaceful. We woke to the sound of the neighboring roosters, but kind of enjoyed it.
Graham’s father was there too and was also very helpful.
