This was by far the worst hipcamp I have "stayed at". I wish I had listened to the other comments about the bugs. For reference, I have backpacked and road tripped for weeks at a time, in snowing and raining conditions, etc., and I would still classify this site as uninhabitable.
You don't want to put up with these flies, gnats, and mosquitoes. My husband and I didn't last 30 minutes after setting up our tent. I will say we should have contacted the host but I was honestly shocked someone would even put a site like this up... and I am further upset that even after ruining our trip that we had to cut short, they refused to refund us.
Long story short, don't stay here. There's BLM land not too far away and other, nicer places to stay.

Laura’s place is beautiful and remote. She is great with communication and was super helpful. It was quiet and fell asleep to the sound of the creek each night. The stars are unlike anything here because of remote the site is. Highly recommend!

Laura and the campsite are great. We had such a peaceful and relaxing time. 10/10 would recommend it and book again.
Yes, there are flies and some hornets as others have stated. But that is always part of camping in the summer.
There's nothing like having some hot coffee early in the morning creekside.
The wild turkeys walking around the area were great to see. They leave you alone and you leave them alone.

The actual site itself is amazing and incredibly peaceful. The creek is beautiful, the night sky is breathtaking, and the little touches that Laura did for this property make it super homey. From the covered RV spot to shield away from the sun to the lemons she leaves when you arrive, the host is very accommodating.
However, my gf and I work full time and stayed for 2 weeks here and it was incredibly inconvenient. The actual trip up and down the mountain is extremely hard. Windy roads, potholes everywhere, and it’s just a grind to drive. Secondly, the cell service and our Starlink didn’t do well here, so we had to travel into the local city in order to work full time. Thirdly, the bugs and the flies were just unbearable. We used so much bug spray and it was just non stop. It’s likely the time of the year, but it made it really hard to enjoy the outside space.
I would stay here again if it was for a little getaway and we weren’t living in our RV full time. I wouldn’t stay here again given our current situation of living full time.

Lovely!!! The creek was wonderful, the drive up was breathtaking, and the site was well kept. My kiddos had a blast, and we all slept amazing!!!

Very Private and quiet spot. Waking up to the stream of the creek was definitely a Plus. Water and electricity is provided, however there is No accessible bathroom, which wasn’t a problem for us as our trailer has a bathroom. Lopez lake is just down the road with Hot showers and bathrooms. The detail of flowers and fruit at the table by the host was kind. If you are looking for a private and somewhat secluded camp site, this is it, we basically had the whole place to ourselves.

Comfortable Creekside Campsite
We had a pleasant stay at the Comfortable Creekside Campsite. The drive to the campsite was fun with a couple of easy creek crossings. The site is right off the road and very close to the host’s residence, but there is still is a sense of privacy. A few cars passed by, but we weren’t bothered by noise or traffic. The hosts left us a gift of lemons & flowers which we appreciated. The creek runs right next to the campsite and is very peaceful. The site features two chairs, a hammock, an awesome fire pit, a picnic table and a sturdy swing by the creek. The site could have used some weeds pulled prior to our arrival. We actually pulled some ourselves. The full hookup was a bit of a disappointment.The RV barn was sturdy and the electricity and fresh water worked perfectly, but the sewer connection was too high for our travel trailer. We tried driving up on blocks, getting closer to it, further from it. There was just no way to get it to work. Gravity just wasn’t on our side. We had to search around for a dump station after we left.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we hope to go back. We especially enjoyed our hike/walk along the road to the Little Falls trail head.

Laura was a very nice host although we never met. She was responsive to my inquiries and even offered a refund as I only spent only one day at the site. The weather was quite threatening and the route to the property was very sketchy with rock slides, potholes galore and several road creek crossings. I recommend a very strong vehicle to traverse the awful potholes.
The property was very quiet and solitary if you just want to get away from the maddening crowd. The hookup and trailer shed was nice.

Laura's land is so peaceful and serene. It is the perfect place to escape from a hectic work week. The creek next to the site was so enjoyable and our toddler loved splashing in it. There is a fun little swing hanging from a tree to sit on next to the creek as well. At the campsite, there was a picnic table with fresh flowers that grow on the mountain and lemons from Laura's lemon tree. Also, a hammock to relax in! There are two sites provided. We chose the covered site with full hookups, We took our 25ft trailer and it fit perfectly, you will need to back in. Laura will provide videos and on tips how to do this if needed. As other reviews have noted the road to get here is small and winding, we took it very slow and had no problems. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat, this is one not to miss. Thanks so much Laura!
It’s a beautiful property. Set up very nicely for camping near the creek, although it is close to the house. Very peaceful and secluded. Beautiful trees and wildflowers. If you are looking for a place to chill and relax without driving this is perfect place. Nice hike right here also. Watch out for a very steep climb and downhill if you are towing a trailer.

A beautiful spot that allowed for a very peaceful weekend. The host was responsive and we would highly recommend this site. Even though it has full hookups, don't overlook the need to carry out your trash.
The road to the site is very well-maintained though there was some evident damage from recent rainstorms. There are several water crossings but they are paved and even though my camper is somewhat low, we didn't have any problem (might have been a problem if it was raining heavily). The road narrows for about the last six-miles but take it slow and don't be an idiot!

The creek was an amazing feature! We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful property with plenty of wildlife abound.
This campsite was a haven for our 25-ft RV! True to form, it had all the needed hookups, relatively easy to attach (despite us being RV first-timers). Of the two hookup sites available, we opted to stay in the RV barn, looked very well constructed. We also appreciated the attention to detail and the quality of the picnic table, lounge chairs, fire pit, and stringed lights. Being next to the creek provided a theraputic sound (and fun). Host Laura was very responsive and provided photos and answers to reassure our lack of familiarity of the area. As for getting to the "New" Little Falls trail, this was an adventure! We understood why Laura recommended to drive to the trail head (but not take our RV as our sole vehicle) after going through 8 (?) creek crossings BEFORE even getting to the trail head sign (bring water sandals or test your patience with taking off your shoes!) Although we decided to turn back to the campsite from the trail head, the scenic tree views and creek crossings really made for a cool experience for us (including toddler and senior dad). Other thoughts: We went during the end of Sept, weather was comfortable 76 hi and 57 low degrees. Few flies/gnats but nothing unbearable. We took the drive up to the campsite slow given the loose gravel and narrow road, and glad we did it before sunset. RV barn is located next to the road, but the sound of occasional cars did not disturb us. (Saw deer and salamanders onsite, turkeys, ducks and a goose off-site!)

What a GEM! This place is off the beaten path, which is what we wanted, but had hookups. We spent a few days of the recent heat wave here and both the creek and the hookups (for A/C) were a must. The shaded parking for our camper probably kept it about 10° cooler! Laura's communication leading up to our trip was excellent - she recommended we arrive early Saturday rather than late Friday and I'm glad we did. Her orientation when we got there was perfect and she was always responsive if we had a question, but otherwise we felt like we had the property to ourselves. Great property, great host, great location. We LOVED it!

The owner was so pleasant that I’ve struggled for the proper balance of this review. If one is looking for an alternative to a crowded public campsite, this might be a great choice. Unfortunately, my expectations, based on photos and reviews, were not met.
The area designated for campers was smaller than I expected (perhaps add dimensions to the photo with the perimeter?), was very close to a road with more traffic than I expected and close proximity to the owner’s RV and home limited enjoyment of views. I went hoping to enjoy hiking to the nearest waterfall but was warned I should drive to the trailhead because people drive too fast on the narrow, winding road. A brief walk with my dog confirmed the hazard. If visiting in mid-summer as we did, you will find a high concentration of very persistent gnats, so be sure to bring strong insect repellent; the “natural” stuff I had was not up to the task. I could not use the creekside electric hookup because it has a ground fault, but the RV barn was fine, although it is even closer to the road.
The creek was nice, the owner is accommodating and we enjoyed some wildlife visits during our stay. The hammock, lighting, picnic table and fruit basket were all very pleasant.

Comfortable Creekside Campsite
The camper's spot, the hookups and the surrounding natural setting were fantastic.
We loved this site! Laura was very quick and easy to communicate with. We loved being able to hang at the campsite or hike nearby, with the option of going into Arroyo Grande, which has an adorable little downtown area, for lunch or supplies. Just a beautiful area. We’ll be back. The property is well maintained and the creek is super cute (a little low on our visit, like everything in CA right now, but still flowing and providing a wonderful creekside ambiance). We had our dogs with us and they had a grand old time at the property. As other campers have mentioned, the road in is a little windy and steep, but paved and easily drivable, with beautiful views as you slowly make your way into the canyon. Enjoy!
Heads up to RVs/Trailers using the site closer to the creek (as opposed to the RV barn), the sewer connection is plumbed high above ground. So it’s a bit of a 2 person trick to empty your tanks in that one. The RV barn hookup was lower toward the ground, and would’ve been easier to use on hind site (or for next time). Not a big deal, just an FYI.
Laura’s creekside property had full RV hookups on a paved pad under a large metal roof. She met us upon arrival and helped us back in, showed us around and even brought us some lemons, herbs, and potatoes from her garden. There was a bouquet of flowers on the picnic table- it was lovely and quiet. The only thing I’d mention is the 8 mile road to get there is narrow, winding, and hilly, so be ready for that.
What a cool spot! This Hipcamp feels very remote and special. There are many different hiking options within a short drive (just be wary of poison oak on the trails!). Laura was such a friendly host, and was there to greet us when we arrived and even helped us back into our spot next to the creek. The last ~25 mins drive into the forest does include some tight one-lane roads, so just take it nice and slow. Thanks for sharing this great place with us, Laura!
