We are living our dream after recently finding and purchasing this beautiful 10 acre parcel, one of the sunniest in the canyon with a bucolic creek that flows all year. See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards. Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines! Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can share with other campers. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO. NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

Frog Hollow is perfectly located for the weekend break or a leisurely mid-week holiday. Come visit us and check out our lovely land and quaint comfy living. Sabyl, our Border Collie, is around and may head down to greet you at some point during your stay. Our free standing casita is cozy and nestled in a natural serene creekside setting. The loft has a spacious queen size bed for your sleeping pleasure with adjustable reading lights on either side of the bed. The living area offers a fold down couch for another adult or 2 kids. There is a kitchenette with a toaster oven, electric tea kettle and coffee maker. There is a charcoal Weber bbq grill and a propane gas 2 burner stove. We provided a propane fire pit during the fire ban, bring propane and charcoal etc. There is a well lit bathroom with hot shower and flushable toilet 50 yards away. Please use that shower for the casita. We have a moderate climb hiking trail down the road, Cerro Alto, that offers beautiful views of our coastline. Simply sit back and watch the the wild turkeys and deer roaming freely on our land, or head out to taste some of San Luis Obispo County award winning wines. Pack in and pack out your trash please.

Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Sheer cliffs attest to area being underwater, long ago. Galaxies overhead at night are awesome and free from light pollution. Thus, great stargazing! Cattle and forage hay ranch, but cattle could be anywhere on the property. Absolutely no open fires. We are part of an Agricultural Conservancy. We do offer ranch tours at various times of the year. You may request a tour for an additional charge, when available. You'll have a 360 degree view overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountain Range as far as you can see to the West and the Sierra Nevada Range, as far as you can see to the East. We are conveniently located about 15 minutes off Hwy 101, to the North of San Miguel, and offer a private place to relax and rest overnight on your way to or from your other destinations. It is quiet! Occasionally, coyotes howl at night or our two handsome Angus bulls bellow, or a wild boar family grunts as they head from one location to another, usually with an entourage of piglets... just passing through. They are all part of the local country in California and add to the beauty, if you're fortunate enough to hear them from afar. The boar migrate and may not be around for weeks, as they have traveled elsewhere. You may miss all night sounds except the breeze, as most nights are completely silent. It's a rejuvenating experience! Please ask if interested in local day trips or points of interest, and we will try to accommodate you. We will suggest local activities. Lakes Nacimiento, San Antonio and Santa Margarita are an easy distance. All three are quite different from one another. Wine and Beer get a lot of press and rightly so, but there are other relaxing and inspiring activities for all, available when you are here! Each community has a city or town park, so you can enjoy relaxing or playing with your children on hot days, under tall, well-established trees. Everyone needs time to exercise, especially children! Camp Roberts, just North of Paso Robles, has two military museums to visit and the West Garrison is just over the 101 to the West of us! Please check their schedule for current open hours. Out near the Paso Robles Airport there is the Warbird Museum, a must for military aircraft and history buffs. It's outside area has original full-size restored aircraft with the amazing stories behind each one. Inside is more aircraft history and the story behind the Warbird Museum and it's importance in history. For car lovers, there is a great collection of restored automobiles inside, too, and the numbers of cars grow as new autos are restored and displayed. It's and awesome place to visit. Breweries, numerous wineries, and distilleries abound! Beautiful country roads and Parkfield, the earthquake capital of the world, are about a 40 min. drive. Not far away... is the magnificent Pacific Ocean! We have Farmer's Markets, private farm stands, and live music at numerous locations. It is wise to confirm days and hours of opening. Jack Creek Farms is a 5th generation Barlogio family farm on the North side of Hwy 46W, has fun things for all ages. Honey tasting, is awesome and enjoy a refreshing apple cider based slushy (Granita) fresh and natural... no added color or sugar... as good as it can get!!! There are fruits and veggies already picked as well as seasonal u-pick items. Tim, Joy, Becky and Mandy are there to greet you had share their love of the hard work and sharing the bounty they produce every year! The art installation, "Field of Lights" is not far away, just East of Paso Robles. Reservations are suggested. Golfing is excellent with 3 main courses to choose from, and each having a different ambiance. Restaurant options are available at all prices. Yes, Franklin Hot Springs is a real outdoor hot springs pool, owned by the multi-generation local Franklin family. It's casual and brings you back to days when it was simply a health resort, with numerous hot springs in Paso Robles which brought tourists and locals here, to " ... to take the waters!" Really, there is quite a variety of things to choose from, or not! (Sometimes just sitting and taking in the fresh air and a cool beer, glass of iced tea, or whatever libation you choose, is what refreshes!) If you love or want to love, Zip-lining, then go to Santa Margarita, just South of Atascadero and to the East a couple miles. Santa Margarita Zipline Adventures, or tours. Remember... always verify their hours and days of operation and if you need a reservation, so you won't be disappointed.

Camping at Charan Springs Farms was a beautiful and magical dream come true. Nestled in the hills of Cambria we were able to sleep next to the babbling creak under a sea of stars, and easily drive into town. One of the best camping experiences of my life thus far. We were so welcomed by the host and shown a stunning river on the property full of swimming pools, dragonflies & blooming wildflowers. A truly soul healing experience, I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time on this piece of land.

Dabudage is a very special place. You’ll fall asleep to the sounds of a babbling brook and wake up to breathtaking views of the ocean. Set back from the highway, you’ll really feel disconnected from the city. The kitchens were wonderful to use and well supplied with propane, pots, pans, knives, cooking and eating utensils as well as sinks with hot water for washing dishes. The only thing I was worried about was some poison oak on the path towards the uphill campsites. No bear boxes are needed but it’s smart to keep your food in your car at night to avoid skunks and raccoons. Lots of activities nearby- A five minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute drive to limekiln state park. We can’t wait to stay here again!

I had the most incredible stay at Charan Springs Farm — truly one of the best camping experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, safe, and completely at home. The camp hosts and everyone who lives and works on the land are such kind, thoughtful people. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and regularly checked in to see if I needed anything. By the end of my stay, I genuinely considered them friends. I stayed at the Redwood Camp, and it was an absolute slice of heaven — peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature. The description of the site on HipCamp was completely accurate and set the right expectations. If you’re looking for a beautiful, down-to-earth place that embraces the rustic charm of farm life and community, this is it. A special shout-out to Robo for letting me pick fresh produce straight from the garden — such a lovely and grounding experience & to Mike, who was an absolute gem — he regularly checked in on me, helped me start my fire, and brought me firewood. Their warmth and attentiveness made me feel so looked after. And the hot spring baths? Magical. I spent every day soaking under the beautiful trees, completely relaxed and in awe of how special this place is. If you’re open-minded, nature-loving, and looking for an authentic and soulful camping getaway, I can’t recommend Charan Springs Farm enough. I’m already dreaming about coming back!

We loved the cabana and the property all together. Everyone was friendly, including a kitten that followed us down to the beach and back. We saw sea otters in the ocean, a short walk from camp across a cute log bridge under Route 1. Amazing view of the stars at night and several fire pits. There were two clean kitchens with everything we needed for cooking and cleaning dishes. Highly recommend!

This site is amazingly remote, yet has all the needed amenities to make it an easy adventure (e.g. running hot/cold water, trash, poopers, fire pits). We stayed in mid June, and the communal hammocks were perfect for catching the afternoon shady nap. We stayed in a site that did not have an ocean view, but was right next to the creek, allowing for amazing sounds to fill the site all day and night. The bird life here is amazing, and you can fall asleep to frogs!

It is very easy to find with the provided directions. The views here are absolutely incredible to say the least. My boyfriend and I felt very comfortable, safe, and welcomed here. Based on availability you can choose which campsite you prefer to stay in. There are secured options in the forest, or ones right by the creek with breathtaking views. We chose the one with the views and it did not disappoint - from the sunset at night, to the sunrise in the morning it was just so beautiful. There is access to a kitchen to cook with plenty of supplies, a sink with hot water to do dishes, running water, a place to go to the bathroom, and a communal fire pit. This experience can be as private or as social as you would like! There is also easy access across the street to a beach. We highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back!!!

This was an amazing experience!! I would definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for a place that is more remote with no service. The frogs sound amazing at night and you get some really beautiful views. The mineral bath was having trouble with the heating system but was definitely worth it! I will be coming back here again!

I absolutely loved it here! We came in late, but were greeted kindly by Robo, who was more than happy to help us and even set up the tubs for us to use despite it being late at night. The property itself is very quiet and peaceful, you can hear the creek flow and frogs. We came and went as we pleased and had a very comfortable stay. This will be my first choice when I’m back in the area. Thank you Mike & Robo!

We sent a message to see if they could receive us at t!e last minute (just before sundown), absolutely! It was wonderful and quiet after a long hot day in San Luis Obispo. A morning walk around the property had plenty of bunnies foraging with rolling hills as far as the eye can see. We parked out van under a beautiful oak tree that provided plenty of shade. Would highly recommend for those stopping through the area!

You must Arrive Before Dark to find your site. There is no wi-fi, cell service or electricity. Hwy 1 is currently closed to the north of this land. The only access is through Cambria from the south or over the mountain from King City off of Hwy 101 There is a small communal guest kitchen, fresh water, a shower/bath and composting barrel poopers. ​A massive flood in Jan 2021 brought 100's of gigantic full sized redwood trees and boulders smashing down thru most of the previous structures. It is in the process of rebuilding. Children are welcome. Alcohol is discouraged. No electronic music devices. Fires in designated pits only. Dogs are welcome off-leash. Pack out trash. We can accommodate tent campers or car campers. Each campsite fits 4-6 people. The price is $40/per person. Kids under 12 are free. Most campsites are accessible by car and all campsites are accessible by foot. PLEASE NOTE, we do not have a traditional check in procedure. Campsites are first come first serve. Expect a "self-check in process" most of the time. However, there are sometimes people working onsite that you may run into, that are happy to help and lead you in the right direction. You choose your own campsite so plan to arrive early. You can park and walk around. There is signage that says "CAMP" with Arrows. BYO water. We have sulfur spring water. Great for your skin, not good to drink! There's a couple outhouses on the property. One in the main camp zone, one at the far north end of the lower Redwood campsite. You can also bring a shovel and take a walk if you're in the more remote campsites. We have a dumpster outside the gate for your garbage. IMPORTANT INFO Please don't mind our farm junk/tools as you enterGate 1! We are slowly working on clean up and relocation of materials from the entry road and away from view. Before you arrive, have knowledge of poison oak because it is a native plant. The main photos in the listing are taken from Hipcamp Scouts back in 2018 and they are featuring our Original campsite. This is located past the mineral baths. It's the furthest one to reach, and accessible by foot. I will update photos to depict all the campsites, but please share your photos with us on Instagram and tag @charanspringsfarm to help future campers get a view of what the sites look like with a tent set up! SULFUR MINERAL BATHS Include in your experience the use of our sulfur mineral baths. It's $10 per person. PLEASE BOOK THIS AS AN EXTRA AT CHECKOUT. The mineral baths are 2 funky vintage clawfoot tubs that are pictured in the actual listing.The photos show an accurate description of the Mineral Baths. They are not located in the main camp zone. Please call ahead to book your time slot and get directions to the mineral baths. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF: You are looking for "Glamping," (Glamour Camping). It's primitive camping on a private property with bonuses like the garden, rustic baths, and beautiful nature. This property has been a working farm for decades, which has struggled with hard times. If farm yards/junk piles make you uncomfortable or give you a creepy feeling, don't book because our boneyard is adjacent to the entry road and it can't be ignored. Broken Branch Creek is a new family farm in Paso Robles, CA. Our land is abundant with with blue oaks and local wildlife. There is a creek bed, usually dry most of the year, that provides excellent rock hunting and shady areas with overhanging oaks. We have grazing cattle fenced off from the camping areas and farm so you may see or hear them during your stay. The entrance to the camping area is a very wide oil pipe fenced driveway off Branch Road, designed to accommodate farm equipment and cattle trailers. Sometimes map apps say you've arrived at one of the separate residential driveways on the property. Please keep looking for the commercial sized entrance. We are a 15 minute drive to the restaurants and shopping in downtown Paso Robles, 8 minutes to the Vina Robles Amphitheater, 6 minutes to the Hunter Ranch Golf Course, and 5 min to the Sensorio Art Exhibit. We're just off the Union Road Wine Trail among the Back Roads Wineries of Paso Robles.

You can also ride horses on the property as well as along Rocky Canyon Road into Atascadero or Creston. You can ride into Creston and can have lunch or dinner at one of the 2 places in the small town of Creston.
