Land access simple; even though I got stuck, management kindly change that by getting me unstuck. Much appreciated! After getting unstuck I was able to settle in for an enjoyable kickback with a night of stargazing. Definitely a place to check out so you can check back in..., and; as a bonus, they have ATV & dirt bike rental. The trails, stargazing, people and visiting dogs are a welcomed experience.

Weekend Trip to Malibu Creek Orchard Retreat

A hidden-away gem. What a fun campsite! The vintage Airstresm trailer is in amazing shape. Decorated and arranged beautifully. Fabian put everything together so nicely. A bowl of fresh rosemary and lemons from their orchard on the table when we arrived. Coffee and cream packs in the fridge. Firewood and kindling and cooking utensils for the BBQ. Lovely little touches everywhere. Thr amenities are amazing. Full power in the trailer and a bathroom with instant hot water. A smart space heater for the chilly evenings and Alexa to play music and turn on the outside string and accent lights made for a really great nighttime camp experience. There is a hiking loop that is private to the site and takes you up into the hills with a bench at the top to watch the sunset it was gorgeous! Overall we can't wait to go back. There is a cabin you can also rent for larger groups they are renovating currently, when they is done, a larger group of friends would make this an incredible site for a getaway weekend. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to The White Lodge

Enjoyed watching the sunsets from the hot tub and watching Night Flight on the tv in the trailer. Chill times all around.

2 nights at Peaceful Mountain Cabin

Peaceful and quiet . Gigi is a lovely respectful host. She provided everything we needed and brought us extra blankets as the temperature dropped at night. We enjoyed visiting her farm animals and playing with her beautiful dogs. We especially liked that the cabin space was fenced and secure for our dogs,, they loved being off leash and free to roam around in a safe place. We were able to enjoy dinner cooked over a wood fire and the star viewing was amazing. We plan to visit again.

1 night at The White Lodge

Such a magical spot! The sweetest little trailer and hot tub. It’s super cozy and well equipped with electricity and TV. The place is a real wonderland. Note that trailer is very tiny, so not easy to navigate for bigger folks. Bathroom is an easy walk, awesome and provides towels. This is an amazing staycation—you really feel like you escaped LA.

Great spot. Fantastic views and wild flowers. Entertaining to see the workings around the farm, feeding the animals and watching them get rounded up, especially when a camel escaped! Location was a good base camp for visiting the area State Parks. The cabin had everything we needed. It all actually looked better in person than the pictures. We were pleasantly surprised.

3 nights at Green Oak Retreat

Such an amazing experience! The hike up there is a little difficult so pack light but definitely worth it. The hike is very beautiful and seems magical almost. Tent was very clean and homey. Came with a heated blanket and mini fridge. Showers were clean and water was hot.

Weekend Trip to Tiny Tiki Retro Hideaway

This was a gem - and Julia is really awesome. The site has a beautiful view. Incredibly relaxing and lovely to wake up to in the mornings. The outdoor bed and bathtub are such great touches and the little trailers themselves are well equipped and very nicely decorated, clean and cozy. I recommend this spot. It’s a very convenient location and Julia was a wonderful host, even taking us on a great hike that took us to some beautiful views. Go check it out!! We will be returning.

Lone Juniper Ranch is a great spot. Crazy that it's just 90 minutes outside of LA. You kind of feel like you're in a different world. We used the RV campsite. Power, water and sewer was available. The hosts are very responsive. Would definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to The White Lodge

Canned Ham and the White Lodge Pool are so fun, not at all what you would expect in the big city! Cozy trailer, hot sauna, cool pool, shower cave & hot tub are just the amenities I had time to take advantage of in my short overnight stay.

3 nights at ArtFarm Movie Ranch & Nomad NeXuS

My kids and I loved camping there. It had the right facilities we needed (pool, showers, full kitchen), hiking trails, fun loving dogs to play with and educational state parks within a short drive. All the staff was very friendly and helpful with any needs.

ArtFarm was a lot of fun for us and our teenage girls. We had great time with our doggo having free rein and our cozy cabin still had enough room for board games and meals. Communal kitchen and bathroom were clean and convenient. Our youngest really enjoyed feeding the goats and chickens. Hiking nearby as well. Staff super friendly and accommodating. First time using HipCamp, thanks for a great experience!

The ranch is made up of their home and is also a venue for filming, photo shoots and small events. When not being used, camping guest are welcome to enjoy the area down around the authentic saloon, use the picnic area under large Oak trees and hike the property. They purchased the ranch 3 years ago and love being outside of the city in the mountains. Star gazing is a must when staying there! The camp site is NEXT DOOR to Prospector Ranch which is our 1800's style ranch tucked away in the Santa Monica mountains, close to beaches, vineyards, amazing hiking, biking to the beach and the city! The wide open empty lot looks out at the beautiful mountains. Enjoy stunning sun sets and Picnic under the grand Oak Trees at the ranch or maybe come by the saloon next door for a cold beverage if we are around. :-). I was introduced to the delights of Glamping at El Capitan in Santa Barbara which was amazing and I wanted to stay there forever!! -- BUT with a busy city life of raising kids and building my own small food business -- I wanted to jump from Glamp-life to City-life (and back again) with more ease and share it with others. In my opinion, the beauty of So-Cal living is that you can literally spend the morning surfing in Malibu and that same evening find yourself skiing in Big Bear! (After 25 years of living here -- that reality still amazes me) To mirror this unique juxtaposition - at La Boheme, you will find a tranquil Safari Tent Glamping experience - with hiking/biking trails and all sorts of outdoor activities anywhere from a 5 minute walk to 30 minutes away by car---- but you can also hop on the Gold Line train (which is a 1 minute walk out the back door) and in choosing one direction, you are a couple of stops from Chinatown or Downtown LA's rich cultural experiences & exciting nightlife. If you decide to explore in the other direction, Metro's Gold Line (in 1 stop) will take you to the heart of Highland Park's bustling scene - offering a smorgasbord of eateries, coffee-shops, speakeasies, boutiques, yoga studios and art galleries - including LA's oldest bowling alley: Highland Park Bowl. Your own private oasis tucked on top of a private residence with keyed lock gates, so it is completely safe & secure for your belongings if you choose to go out on the town during your stay!Glamping Hollywood Hills is located in a quiet neighborhood in the hills so while the goal is for guests to enjoy themselves and have the best experience possible, I do ask that you please be respectful of the neighbors and keep the noise down. If you're looking for a more turned up experience, there are loads of bars and clubs just a short walk away on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Also, because this is located in the Hills, it is a HIGH FIRE ZONE so no grilling (since we are so centrally located, there are numerous food delivery services that deliver all hours of the day though!) or fires are allowed. And for smokers, please dispose of butts in the designated ash trays. PARKING: There is limited free street parking, or you can park for free at the Hollywood Heritage Museum, just a 2 minute walk from the house if there are no events at the Hollywood Bowl. And if you can’t find a free street spot, I can get you a parking permit for $4 per day. Please let me know if you require that and I can get the passes for you! I take a lot of pride in my space and keeping it clean, and absolutely love hosting guests, so I just ask that you have the same respect back for my space and leave it like it was when you arrived. Vintage Cabin in National Forest

Located in a spectacular mountain setting just 90 miles north of Los Angeles, Pine Mountain Club is a residential community in the Los Padres National Forest. Relax & unwind while surrounded by acres of old forests that shelter an array of flora & fauna, including the rare California Condor. This gambrel cabin was one of the original homes built in PMC in 1976. The 70s vibe is still alive with cork floors, shag rugs, wood paneling, record players, an 8-track player & an orange Malm fireplace. The space Our 1970s chalet-style gambrel cabin is located at an altitude of 5500 feet above sea level. Both bedrooms are equipped with organic latex mattresses (queen downstairs, full upstairs) and ROKU smart TVs. There is also a TV with basic cable, a VHS player, and classic video games in the living room downstairs. Upstairs we have a projector for watching movies on a big screen. The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, oven/stove, Nespresso machine with milk frother, blender, waffle maker and fondue pot. We have board games, puzzles, records, 8-track cassettes, VHS tapes, a projector (for VHS or streaming movies), a guitar, keyboard, and a working fireplace. Towels and linens are provided. The washer and dryer cannot be used by guests, but there is a laundromat in the village and another in Frazier Park. Keep in mind this is not a hotel, this is a privately owned cabin in the middle of a National Forest. The water may take a little longer to heat up, the electric heaters might smell a little dusty the first time they are turned on after a long summer, spiders might rebuild their webs less than 24 hours after the space is cleaned, there may be dirt on the outdoor furniture, you might need to wear insect repellant in the summer or shovel the driveway and deck in the winter. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not it, but if you want a fun, comfortable getaway in the mountains, please submit a booking inquiry. You are expected to complete a checkout checklist which includes washing your dishes and putting them away where you found them, making sure all wall heaters are off, etc. Guest access You'll be in walking distance of the PMC Clubhouse which houses a restaurant, bar, recreation room, community swimming pool and hot tub (SUMMER ONLY), tennis courts, and a golf course. If you'd like to use the pool, please send names of all guests so I can register you in advance. There is a fee of $5 per person, per day, for the temporary pool passes to be paid at the pro shop on pickup. We're also close to hiking trails and the village where you'll find the Pine Mountain General Store, Bear Claw Bakery, The Perch, gift shops, and more. During the WINTER months, there is a chance of snow and/or ice on the roads. You will need 4WD/AWD or tire chains on hand. The CA Highway Patrol is often checking cars before allowing access. You may also need to show confirmation of your reservation. We have a snow shovel on the deck in case you need to shovel the driveway or deck. Parking on the street is not allowed. We've had several guests say they grew up on the East coast and know how to drive in snow, only to comment about the curvy, icy road into the forest which is no joke! Even if you are prepared, someone in front of you might not be, so have warm clothes or blankets in the car, a full tank of gas, and some snacks in case you get stuck. Other things to note There is an outdoor security camera on the property. The cabin is not in the middle of nowhere, we have neighbors on all sides. Please be respectful. The wi-fi is pretty reliable but as we are in a rural area, it can be slow and it does go out from time to time. If you absolutely must have internet access guaranteed, this may not be the place for you. No shoes in the house Rules The two overriding rules are 1) Leave the home the way you found it and 2) Respect the privacy and quiet of our neighbors. - NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE - Please do not rearrange the furniture. Use coasters on wood surfaces! Be gentle with everything - most items are vintage. - Basic cleaning up after yourself is expected, including washing your dishes and putting them away. - Trash and recycling must be taken to the transfer site when you check out. - We provide a checkout checklist so you remember to turn all heaters off, lock doors and windows, etc. - Commercial photography/filming is not allowed without permission. Please send details in advance and we will get back to you with the rates for your project. - No outdoor fires of any kind - Quiet hours in PMC are 10pm - 7am - Smoking allowed outside ONLY. Please keep doors and windows closed. If the house smells of smoke after you leave you will lose your deposit to cover the cost of odor removal. Dispose of butts properly - not on the ground. - Pets are not allowed. We had to change our policy after a bad experience. - This is a forest, and bears (and other wildlife) are frequently sighted. No food or trash should be left outside the cabin unattended. All doors and windows need to be closed if you're not in the room. There is an air horn in the downstairs bedroom closet, and whistles near the sliding glass door. If you see a bear, make a lot of noise to scare it away. - Missing items will be deducted from your deposit plus a $50 service fee per item. - NO fireworks or guns of any kind (including BB and paintball) - No parking on the street. If you have a RV please contact me in advance to discuss options. - Any additional guests beyond the number stated in your reservation must be approved in advance. - Your name and contact information will be shared with the Pine Mountain Club Property Owner's Association, in case of emergency or neighbor complaints. - You must provide your email address in advance of your stay.
