11. Namaste Farms

99%
(142)
47mi from La Jolla · 3 sites · Lodging
We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses.  In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. Today, Namaste Farms is recognized around the globe for raising high quality wool producing sheep.  While sheep are the primary animals at Namaste Farms, there are countless other animals, both four legged and feathered!NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you.   Know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals. This booking is for the Treehouse, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.

Robin's Nest is a 5-acre rescue ranch for creatures, large & small. Currently, we're home to 2 chihuahuas, 2 Australian Cattle Dogs (Lily, Alberto, Julio - aka Formerly known as The Three Chimigos and Oakley & Eddie the blue heelers), 4 pot belly pigs (Michael, Falkor, Meg, & Ayla - aka The Three Little Pigs +1), a mini horse (Phinneas), a mini donkey (Donkey), and a Buckskin Quarter Horse (Tivio), two lambs (Dolly & Reba), and 4 alpacas (Fern, Woodrow, Gandalf, & Gus). We have a lot of flat, usable space, but we also have some impressive boulders, hidden nooks and crannies to explore, and beautiful, mature trees. It's our little slice of heaven! Learn more about this land: Join the royal court and stay in our 1975 Airstream Sovereign Land Yacht! Immerse yourself in a budding rescue ranch with pot belly pigs, mini horse, and mini donkey, or take a romp on our 5 acres with lots of hidden gems to discover, or explore the many hiking trails nearby (Mt. Woodson, Potato Chip Rock, Iron Mountain). You also have access to a relaxing hot tub/jacuzzi & brand new 300sf deck. The Airstream has one King bed with a super comfy mattress and the dinette turns in to an additional King sleeping space. If you want a true immersive, farm experience, ask about our add-on experiences including grooming the animals, helping at feed time, and cleaning their pens! There's plenty of great space to ride your bikes, and it's proven to be a hit with the kiddos! The Airstream is new to the ranch and is a work in progress, but you'll love the charm of hanging out in a very cool vintage trailer. We'll soon be adding some layers of paint, shine, and lots of love, so make sure to follow our progress in fixing the ole girl up! Our location is also unique because we are fully fenced in and have a separate turn out space for your horses (check add-ons for camping with your horse). We also have a small 1954 Camper ("Lucy") that can act as a second bedroom for more sleeping space (check for add-on). **WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: We can provide a ramp for the Airstream for accessibility, though please be aware the camper is small, likely not wide enough for a standard wheelchair, and the bathroom is also small and doesn't meet ADA standards. At the heart of the campground is a central shared space offering essential amenities: water, power access, a community kitchen, bathrooms, hot showers, WiFi, and complimentary coffee and tea. It’s the perfect balance—rugged, off-grid living paired with thoughtful conveniences that let you relax, recharge, and connect. ZNZ CAMP is more than a campsite—it’s a nature-immersed experience for explorers, families, and adventurers looking to unplug, slow down, and feel truly connected to the land. 🌿🏕️ ✨ ZNZ Farms and Campground is a fully off-grid, solar-powered farm and campground. Because we rely on the sun, weather can affect solar energy, power availability, and Wi-Fi from time to time. As a working farm, natural conditions like rain, mud, uneven ground, and changing weather are all apart of daily life here. “ZNZ — Where Wild Living Comes Naturally.”

In fact, our location is world-famous for being the site of the first documented UFO encounter, Check out the George Adamski Foundation. This Campground was first opened in the early 1930"s as the Base Camp for the Contruction crew to build Route S6 "Road to the Stars" top of Palomar Mountain. The Road needed to be built wide and smooth in order to transport the Hale Telescope. The construction had to stop due to the start of WW2. Once WW2 had ended the work was completed 1948. The Base Camp first name was Palamar Gardens, Then Oak Knoll Camp and is now being rebranded back to its Original Name Base Camp Palamar. The property is rustic, a little dusty and very old school. If you're looking for a new type of camping with 5-star amenities we recommend Pala or Pechanga Resort RV Park Casino RV Park. We are just plain and simple. Note: the property has two sections one is for Kamping / RVing and the other is Seasonal / fulltime RVers

Please ask if you have questions?!

The best glamping near La Jolla with wifi provided guide

Where to go

Palomar Mountain State Park

Northeast of La Jolla, Palomar Mountain State Park spans over 1,800-acres of pine, fir, and cedar forest. At the southern foothills of Palomar Mountain, La Jolla Indian Campground run by the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians boasts fun river tubing access and exciting zipline tours through Pauma Valley. Or reserve a dog-friendly campsite with flush toilets and pay showers. It fits motorhomes and trailers up to 24 feet in length. Nearby, Lake Henshaw also offers boating, kayaking, and waterfront camping for fishing and boating enthusiasts, including RV sites with full hookups.

Silver Strand State Beach

On a slim sandbar between San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean, Silver Strand State Beach offers both cooler ocean and warmer bay beaches. Swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing are popular here, as are beach volleyball, surfing, and boogie boarding. The on-site RV campground offers full hookups for motorhomes and travel trailers up to 40 feet in length. Facilities include fire rings for summer cookouts, beach restrooms, and cold showers.

La Jolla Underwater Park

Swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers will want to visit La Jolla Underwater Park for day use after they check into a nearby RV park. Swimming through the crystal clear waters, underwater explorers will encounter an abundance of marine life, including leopard sharks and colorful fish among kelp forests. The underwater park extends about three miles up the coast along La Jolla Bay from La Jolla Cove to Scripps Pier.

When to go

With warmer weather up to the mid-80s and longer daylight hours, summertime is popular for camping near La Jolla. Snorkelers and divers who want to swim with leopard sharks may want to visit when the population peaks in July and August. Milder weather in spring and fall can be equally pleasant and less busy for ziplining, tubing, and hiking. Campsites typically offer greater availability during the cooler months as well.
