2 nights at Luxury Trailer on Off-grid Emu Farm
What a great little escape - you can be as ‘off the grid’ as you like. Tucked away on a farm a few miles from Pyramid Lake, this was the perfect place for us to stay and the fish the lake during the day. Would definitely recommend. Trailer is nice - would be tough with more than a couple of people though. Unless they’re small people lol 😆 but it was perfect for just me and the hubby. Hosts were super responsive and even showed me around the farm.

We had the absolute best time. Adam was a clear and helpful communicator the minute we booked the site. The cabin itself was definitely rustic - no bathroom and the only source of heating was a wood stove in the living room (so keep that in mind if you’re staying October-March; it gets cold at night and you’re throwing logs onto the fire every few hours). That said, the bed was arguably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed on in a short term rental. The cabin had everything we needed, including beautiful trails, snow for the boys to sled on, and a chance to mentally reset and disconnect from our devices. There is WiFi near the main house so if you have to get online, there are no issues. I look forward to coming back with more friends and family.

Weekend Trip to The Reimer Pack Yurt
A perfect spot for a romantic snowy weekend! The woodfire stove kept us warm during a snowstorm, and the location was perfect for ski slope access and wandering the snowy woods. Jesika was thoughtful and communicative throughout our stay, clearing a parking spot pre-arrival and keeping the wood stove stocked. Thank you for such a wonderful stay - would 10/10 stay here again.

Our family had the perfect Christmas getaway at this cozy yurt. It comfortably slept the four of us, with plenty of room to relax and for the kids to play. The wood furnace kept us warm and toasty even as we were surround by a winter wonderland. The towering snowy trees and sparkling icicles made for a truly breathtaking white Christmas.
We loved the peace and freedom to explore the beautiful grounds. It was a quiet, majestic retreat—perfect for reconnecting with nature.
The walk to the yurt was close but a workout due to the snow. Sleds were provided to help carry our belongings, which was very helpful. However, we found we overpacked and could have brought less knowing we could dry clothes by the fire- which I would definitely recommend.
The kitchen was well-stocked with an oven, stove, and refrigerator, making meal prep easy and enjoyable. For families, we suggest bringing disposable plates and cups since washing dishes in the small foot-pump sink can be tricky with a larger group. For couples or solo travelers, the provided dishware is more than sufficient.
Our kids (ages 4 and 10) had a blast exploring and playing in the snow. They both called it the best vacation ever!
Jesika was a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and accommodating. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
We highly recommend this yurt for a peaceful and unique getaway. We’re already planning to return in the spring or summer to see it in a different season!

I loved the whole place, it was a good experience. I went when it was cold and we pretty much had the place to ourselves, but I do want to see what it’s like when it’s warmer and there’s more people around. I love the cabins, but I want to try the tent sites next time, they looked very nice, and especially since they’re right by the lake.

Weekend Trip to Victoria Forest
A really beautiful, secluded campsite with lots of woods surrounding you. Very spacious. The night sky was one of the best I’ve seen compared to other hipcamps. Cabin was a comfortable shelter against the cold. It was starting to get a little snowy so it was nice to be able to warm the room up with the portable heater inside. There is another cabin nearby with host’s parents, not sure if it was occupied at the time because we couldn’t tell at all. We felt it was very private. Dogs had a lot of fun roaming and exploring. Porta potty was clean. Host was responsive.
Only thing I would note is not to come at night. A bit dark and difficult to find. Came from the bayarea and the directions indicated coming from ca- 20, which my Waze app wouldn’t recognize as a route. Waze tried to keep taking me to the long windy, dirt path road. Use Apple or Google Maps and follow the host’s directions, go up I-80 and then down CA-20. The road to the address might be easy to miss, as well as the driveway to the site so I definitely recommend coming when daylight is still out. Other than that, after we found the gate, it was easy to find and get to the campsite.

Weather was rather unkind for our brief stop in November, poured with rain the entire time, but we received a warm welcome from the host, who was very helpful. Hard everything that was needed, conveniently located and well priced. Indoor and outdoor plumbing was a plus.

Adam's eco-preserve is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Shambala cabin, which was cozy and comfortable. Plenty of hikes on the property and close to a state park for additional trails. Adam was a great host, and we look forward to visiting again.

Really loved this campsite. It was very private with a great campfire set up and picnic table. The cabin was also cozy and had ample sleep space with the loft bed and futon. We really enjoyed the surroundings and our dog loved how much space there was outdoors for running around. Deana provided great instructions and was very responsive. The site is perfect and it’s close to so many great outdoor hiking. I cant wait to come back in the spring!
