I am writing this review to warn everyone that there is no longer a tent/yurt set up at Lovers Creek. When I asked the man about it, he said that a guest had brought the tent it wasn't included in the site, which is a lie if you look at all the reviews and pics there used to be a tent that stayed on the wooden platform. Luckily I brought my tent just in case so we didn't need to leave. The road getting onto his property is very narrow and beautiful and I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my car, I was glad to have a truck. The restroom is down at the "entrance" and a 10 min walk to the Lovers Creek site. We took the truck each time. There were cute animals to see on the property. Roads are very dusty! The best part about this place and the main reason I might come back is for the privacy. After check in, no one bothered us and the nearest campsite maybe 500 feet away across the other side.

Tyler was a great host and his place was the perfect spot for a weekend camping trip with friends! Tyler helped prepped everything we asked for before we arrived and stayed in communication throughout the stay to help with our requests. The place itself is beautiful with places and animals to explore for the group.

We took a pre-school class camping at Tyler’s place! We really had a great time. The kitchen and bathroom worked great even though we had close to 30 people at max. The donkeys and cows were a huge hit. The property provided plenty of space to roam and explore so the kids had a great time. The hike to the creek was a bit more intense than we realized but the creek itself was great! Just a very big climb back to home. Overall both the kids and the adults had a spectacular time and we plan to come again

We had an amazing time at this fantastic campground! The location is beautiful, super private and peaceful, with lovely sunsets and sunrises. The stars at night were spectacular with no light pollution. Plenty of space for our group of four families to spread out, and the kids had a great time and loved the donkeys and Highland cows.
It was very helpful having a fridge, toilet/shower, gas fire, and camp stove on site. Tyler, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming. He met us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing, family-friendly place to camp!

nice host, he developed a nice campground , the creek was a fun place to relax , overall I think it was good. also there is a water spigot at the campground which makes it easy to wash dishes, and also a bathroom, so easy to go when you need to. I heard peacocks and roosters and saw some owls at night , so there are a few wild animal noises, if you enjoy that sort of thing. Currently it is wildfire season in September, so no open fires , but we did cook with a propane grill , so we were happy and got to eat our smores , if you are looking for a quick getaway , this could be it.

For one mike was a good host, he helped give us a layout of his property. And hook us up on a great spot right next to the water. The place is beautiful and relaxing and at night, you can hear every little creature and bug out there, which was awesome.

We had the most incredible time at Jerry’s property, Sunset Villa! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had discovered a hidden gem. The setting is absolutely magical – wild peacocks and roosters roam freely, adding so much charm and character to the experience. The highlight for us was definitely the mountain-fed creek, which was refreshing, peaceful, and the perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature.
Jerry is a wonderful host who clearly puts a lot of care into maintaining the property, and it shows in every detail. If you’re looking for a camping spot that feels both adventurous and serene, this is it.
One tip: bring water shoes! The creek is amazing to explore, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more with the right footwear.
We can’t recommend Sunset Villa enough – it’s an unforgettable escape, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

What an awesome spot! We found this the day of on Friday of Labor Day weekend. It’s full on creek access. Plenty of shade and the place is green (and end of summer) with black berries all around. Mike is an awesome host! We will be back!

We had such a wonderful stay at Tyler’s campground while celebrating a birthday with family! Tyler was an above-and-beyond host—so responsive, helpful, and thoughtful. The natural spring water throughout the property was so fresh and delicious, and we all loved meeting Banjo and Jenny, the donkeys, who greeted us with excited heehaws when we arrived.
When we realized we forgot a coffee grinder, Tyler came to the rescue, which made our mornings that much better. The waterfall was incredible, especially in the hot and dry weather—it was refreshing and absolutely worth the trek down, ripe blackberry bushes lined the trail halfway down providing a delightful pick-me-up.
We’d love to come back. Thank you, Tyler, for making our stay so special!

One of the best places for family or friends to gather. The campsite is private and peaceful, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Tylar is a lovely guy—don’t hesitate to talk with him because he responds quickly and clearly to any questions. Unfortunately, I had to leave earlier than planned due to personal reasons, but I will come back again. Highly recommended!

We had the best time! The creek is so clear and beautiful, we spent most of the time swimming. It was perfect for kids. The play area was open, although the camp host did warn us about spiders and just to be cautions. Saw tons of turkeys and deers too which is always a huge plus. Definitely coming back!

Mary from Personal Creekside Camping was a gracious, kind, and informative host at our recent Hip Camp stay. Ideally located next to a relaxing creek loaded with blackberries, it was spacious and shaded. Her camp is ideally situated near Penn Valley and about 20 minutes from Grass Valley. The sky is dazzling with stars! Mary shared her experiences and recommended local spots to check out. Mountain Ranch Winery is a mere ten minute drive and if you don’t stop by to taste and engage with Bob, well you’ll miss out on a local gem and enlightened conversation. Be sure to check them out. The valley and surrounding area is full of friendly people, nature, culture, and great food. You won’t be disappointed with Mary and her property.

I LOVED this spot. It was private and somewhat quiet. There are roosters and peacocks on the land and in the area, but their noise was very relaxing all day long. I brought my furry boys with me, although my big boy was very vocal about me being too far from him at times, there were other dogs in the area being vocal themselves, so it felt like home in a way.
Jerry was very nice. He dropped by to make sure everything was alright and pointed out all the accommodations and understood the anxiety my dog projected when he was there. I felt embarrassed, but Jerry assured my it was A OK
If there is a time I need to get away and be alone with my boys, I really hope to come back.

Mike was friendly and informative, gave us great advice on a local fishing spot and swimming hole. The campsite was clean and location along the creek was very nice. My son was able to walk through the creek watching deer and that was his favorite part.

We had a lovely, peaceful weekend beside the creek. With a 30' travel trailer, access and turnaround was easy, plenty of shade along creek. Mary was a great host and we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed camping on Mike’s property! He showed us the available sites when we arrived; two were already taken. The sites have a good amount of space between them. We settled on site #4 (I think, none of them have numbers displayed).
We loved the easy accessibility to the creek. There was a place right near our site to jump into the deep swimming hole portion of the creek. The rest of the creek was very shallow. We used a SUP and some pool floatie rings and had a grand time. It was also blackberry season still, so we enjoyed picking and eating berries.
As someone else mentioned, there are no picnic tables or fire rings at each site. I’d recommend bringing a folding table and a propane fire pit (CA fire restrictions are often in effect during the summer, as they were during our stay).
Toilet is a port-a-potty. Playground was covered in spider webs, unfortunately. We spent the majority of our time in the water and it was so enjoyable!
