We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. It was a last minute book that morning, if I remember right - my campsite had fallen through. His directions were spot on, and very kindly he stayed up to take me to my site and help me get set up, even going so far as to light me a fire. His property was easily navigable in the dark, and my two wheel drive made it fine. We talked for a while - what a cool guy. He was able to give me recommendations from a friend of what to do during the next legs of my trip, which was great and really did make a difference for the rest of my week. I cooked my dinner and sat stunned looking at some of the best stargazing I’ve had in a long time.When I woke up I realized that I had been sleeping next to a mountainside view - this was site 3. Talk about the best surprise I’ve gotten in a while unzipping a tent. The clouds were gathered in the valley and as I ate breakfast I got to watch the sun slowly clear then out. It was unbelievable.Before I left, Cosmo let me use his indoor solar-heated shower and told me all about his projects to build his own home and roads and move towards a more sustainable future. Overall this is really the best of what I imagine hipcamp has to offer - kind property owners & unique individuals who care about their guests while also allowing them to have their own experience. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Weekend Trip to Comptche Matrix @ Sunny-land

I just got back from a lovely weekend at Sunny’s cabin with my two kids, and it was exactly what we needed. The cabin is tucked into the redwoods, quiet and peaceful, and it really felt like a little forest adventure for the kids. Our favorite part was sitting by the fire at night, talking and relaxing together. Sunny was a wonderful host. She was warm, responsive, and helpful whenever I had a question, but also gave us plenty of privacy. Her two friendly dogs were a huge hit with the kids and made the place feel even more welcoming. I left feeling rested, my kids had a great time, and I would happily come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, nature-filled getaway.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.

Bill’s land was one of the best hip camps I have ever stayed at! The Indonesian bedroom was so serene and I slept like a baby with the heated bed. The bathroom was so beautifully decorated with ornate paintings, little treasures, and the stained glass window was intricately stunning. The hot tub was a bonus and it was extremely close to the town of Petaluma and hiking trails. You definitely should stay here for a romantic getaway!

Really nice and quirky small hut that was comfortable for a couple. Outdoor space was surrounded by trees and was very peaceful. Short drive to Gualala or Point Arena for food. No cooking facilities on site so bring a stove if that's your plan.

The golden bowl was perfect for my partner and I. Due to daylight savings time, we never met the host, but they were super accommodating and lovely to message with. Kind size bed was comfy. Blankets were super warm, so no heater was needed (there is not electricity). This spot is closer to camping with luxuring than glamping with all the extras. We didn't use the outdoor kitchen area but imagine it is super useful. My rav4 had no problem getting down the hill to our tent. This tent seems much more secluded than the other two on this property, so that's good to know for other potential people staying! We so sorry appreciate an affordable place to sleep, as everyone does not have $$$ that is trying to travel. Location was great to get to willits, the coast, and we stopped at orr hot springs on our way there - all within a reasonable distance for folks like us who are used to driving to get anywhere! I didn't bring my dog but always appreciate pet friendly spots :) I would come back!

This was my second visit, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. My friends and I stayed in the Sunshine and Mushroom cabins and loved how comfortable and well-set-up everything was. Nathan’s daughter helped us get the wood stove going, which made breakfast in the kitchen extra cozy. We’re already talking about coming back next year. This was my second stay at Baby Banana Slug Farm, and it was just as great as the first. My friends and I stayed in the Sunshine and Mushroom cabins and appreciated how cozy and convenient everything was. Nathan’s daughter kindly helped us get the wood stove going, and we used it to warm the kitchen and make a great breakfast. Next time, we’ll definitely check out his shop. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip. Thank you to Nathan + family for the warm hospitality and another wonderful stay.

I can't recommend this treehouse enough! To start off, Miss J was so sweet and gave us a tour of the whole place before we settled in! You could tell she cared deeply about the land and making all of her guests feel welcome! The treehouse itself was something out of a fairytale - the adventure of staying up in the trees, the serenity of the woods, the spectacular views from the jacuzzi.. everything about this place was truly magical. I can't wait to come back and stay for longer next time!

3 nights at Comptche Matrix @ Sunny-land

Sunny is so sweet and this place is so charming! I had a lovely time staying here while visiting Mendocino, which is about 40 mins away. There were a couple things I was anxious about - windey roads and the steep driveway to get down to Sunny’s land - but all turned out fine and she put me right at ease. The cabin itself is very cute, outdoor kitchen and shower well functioning, and the dogs kept me company when I was by myself at night!

Beautiful and comfortable room with a double bed, 2 nightstands, desk and armchair. Linens and towels are provided.

Weekend Trip to Butterfly Landing🦋🦋🦋

The campsite was great. We stayed in the Green Room but walked around the entire property and cannot recommend it enough. It is quiet and feels like you’re right in the forest. The Green Room was big free and had a comfortable bed for 2! We opted to add in wood and unfortunately it was wet but Kira was kind enough to refund us after we were unable to light a fire. Kira was great with communication and questions. This is the perfect site to go enjoy the vineyards of Anderson Valley.
