The working farm is comprised of over 230 accessible acres of flowing meadows, redwood groves, prime agriculture, and is intersected by the beautiful Garcia River, which flows into the mighty pacific. One thing that is very apparent, is how clearly passionate the community at Oz Farm is about ecology and agriculture. Once you step foot onto Oz Farm, you'll begin to understand why.

Situated on 2 acres, the old farmhouse, where our family lives is said to be one of the very oldest houses in Albion... built in 1865! When we got the place in 2018, it was in pretty bad disrepair and the land was a a jungle of brambles, holly bush, and tons of buried trash. Pregnant and feeling brave (also very naive), we dug into loving up the land and home.
Here we are, nearly 6 years later, with 2 sweet little dudes climbing the old plum tree, a secret garden filled with all kinds of wild and cultivated edible and medicinal plants to enjoy. It makes our hearts really happy to care for this land and we love to share it with folks looking to slow down and connect with this beautiful place we get to call home.
We view ourselves as just the current stewards of this beautiful place. This was home to the flora and fauna for hundreds of thousands of years before people, then home to the Pomo people for many generations, then a slew of immigrants and homesteaders, and now us. As our motto goes, This land, home, trees, and forest animals have been here for many moons before us; it's our greatest hope to be worthy stewards to ensure its health and vitality for many more.

The light-filled cabin is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees, providing a panoramic woodland scene for your getaway. There are many private hiking opportunities among the forrest and near creeks that are right outside the cabin door! Stornetta lands are 10 minutes from the property, abundant with hiking and wildlife watching. Manchester Beach is about 10-15 minutes away, Lighthouse is about 10 minutes from us which is a really wonderful sight. Additionally, Point Arena downtown and harbor are about 10 minutes away by car, Pelican Bluffs Preserve is about 10-15 minutes from us, among many more beaches and view points. Mendocino is just about half an hour away, so it's a really easy trip if you'd like to explore this great coastal spot!
Hiking, forest bathing, beach walking, cliff walks, kayaking, and canoeing are just some of the best and most popular things to do around here. We suggest bringing bathing suits if it's warm out.
We, as your Hosts, greet our guests upon arrival but then leave you to enjoy your stay and respect privacy, unless more interaction is wished for. We absolutely love meeting guests who are especially appreciative of being in nature.

Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Enjoy preparing your own home cooked meals in the stocked kitchens, but there are also good options within walking distance for dining out.
Bartlett's market has many essentials and is just a few minutes away. On the weekends, Light Wave in Monte Rio has fabulous breakfast selections and freshly baked goodies. Also, close-by is, The Highland Dells, an excellent choice for German cuisine overlooking the river. The Village Inn also has a friendly staff, a well-stocked bar, and is river front. If you don’t mind driving a few miles, the town of Guerneville is only 5 miles away, Occidental is about 7 miles, and the Pacific Ocean is only 10 miles from the home; All have excellent choices for dining out.
Enjoy the days lounging/boating at the Russian River (Monte Rio beach is just blocks away) and in the evening enjoy soaking in the hot tub under the redwood shaded stars. Day trips are easy to Bodega Bay, hikes in Armstrong Woods, the Ocean, or boating on Lake Sonoma. The Northwood Golf course is also very close and is open to the public.
For wine enthusiasts, the closest winery is less than 10 miles away (or champagne at Korbel). Just a bit further is the turnoff to Westside/Dry Creek Road, a beautiful, winding country road with picturesque vineyards following the river up into Healdsburg. Your world-class wine tour awaits!

We have Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Basketball Courts around the corner. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. Enjoy preparing your own home cooked meals in the stocked kitchens, but there are also good options within walking distance for dining out.
Bartlett's market has many essentials and is just a few minutes away. On the weekends, Light Wave in Monte Rio has fabulous breakfast selections and freshly baked goodies. Also, close-by is, The Highland Dells, an excellent choice for German cuisine overlooking the river. The Village Inn also has a friendly staff, a well-stocked bar, and is river front. If you don’t mind driving a few miles, the town of Guerneville is only 5 miles away, Occidental is about 7 miles, and the Pacific Ocean is only 10 miles from the home; All have excellent choices for dining out.
Enjoy the days lounging/boating at the Russian River (Monte Rio beach is just blocks away) and in the evening enjoy soaking in the hot tub under the redwood shaded stars. Day trips are easy to Bodega Bay, hikes in Armstrong Woods, the Ocean, or boating on Lake Sonoma. The Northwood Golf course is also very close and is open to the public.
For wine enthusiasts, the closest winery is less than 10 miles away (or champagne at Korbel). Just a bit further is the turnoff to Westside/Dry Creek Road, a beautiful, winding country road with picturesque vineyards following the river up into Healdsburg. Your world-class wine tour awaits!

We had an amazing time at the Coastal Cabin. Bon is a very responsive host, loved the location. Very secluded and peaceful. Cozy wood stove to stay warm. Kitchen has a gas stove, large mini fridge and full sink set up. It’s a drive to get to coastal access, but worth it. We really enjoyed just doing nothing at the cabin. Will definitely be back!

I had a lovely, cozy stay at Bon's cabin. The location is perfect - 10 mins from Elk, 20 mins to Mendocino village, 25 mins to Philo - and the drive is stunning. The cabin itself is incredibly private and cozy with all the amenities, from a full kitchen, to an equipped bathroom, to comfy beds. Then there's the outdoor tub (!!!), wood-fired sauna, and pizza oven. Though Bon has provided space heaters, one of my favorite parts of my stay was keeping the cabin nice and warm with the wood stove. Truly a perfect fall getaway, I can't wait to come back!

Lynda was very friendly and helpful. The property has amazing themed sites to lounge at and are large enough for a group or family if you rent both sites (cabin and boathouse). The cozy cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lynda has taken a lot of time to ensure the cabin is well stocked with useful items so you only need to bring clothes, toiletries, and food to have a great stay. We loved using the hot tub/fire pit at night and reading or playing board games on the covered porch during the day. The dimmable lights in the cabin and on the patio were such a nice touch! The cabin and surrounding area felt very private. The nearby of town of Monte Rio is within walking distance (or a quick drive) and has multiple restaurants (the food from Sarah’s Kitchen in the Highland Dell was very good). This is also a great location as there’s so much to do nearby. You’re close to the coast and multiple small towns to explore. I highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to come back!

The Tower Cabin at OZ Farm was exactly what I was looking for- Spending time in nature and a couple comfort steps above tent camping. The tower cabin is rustic and minimal, but everything you need and more compared to tent camping. I had perfect weather- it didn't get cold enough to use the wood burning stove, but I liked that I had it as an option. The communal kitchen was lovely and a light filled, welcoming cozy spot to hangout. The farm is beautiful and charming. I look forward to coming back.

I had such a wonderful stay at California Woods by the Sea – Ashram. From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by peace and quiet—the tall trees and natural setting make it feel like a true retreat. At the same time, it’s so convenient to get to, which makes it easy to slip away without much effort.
The host was fantastic—very communicative, helpful, and welcoming. The site itself was neat, clean, and thoughtfully set up. The beds were surprisingly comfy, and I really appreciated the basic coffee setup in the morning. Having a flush toilet and internet on-site were such great perks that made the stay even more comfortable, while still keeping the simple, outdoorsy vibe. The outdoor shower was another highlight—refreshing and such a unique experience with the trees all around.
Overall, it was the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and convenience. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.
